Initiation Mesmer Society by A.R. Lain
Length: 25 pages
TBR Reviewer: Shyla
Rating: 4 stars - Recommended Read.
Heat: 4 Handcuffs - An Erotic Ride.
Loved the story but the ending made me want to shake my Nook like it  owed me lunch money, no really. It was the one thing holding me back from giving it 5 stars. I’m all for a series leaving you wanting more but this one came to a screeching halt before I made my train stop. You’re a tease Lain. Apparently
it’s a good thing though, because I sure as heck will be reading part two of this series. Lol.

This interesting account gives a fascinating, and realistic glimpse into emotions, and  thoughts, on a situation one wouldn’t often find themselves in. It was all too easy to imagine being the heroine,
sweet, unsuspecting photojournalist student, Elliot, who goes to cover the story of her career and ends up discovering something about herself she doesn’t know how to deal with. Undercover working a story on a secret sex society is a hell of a time to realize you’re into kink. The description of the acts performed where blistering hot with the proper amount of sweetness. I loved that Lain showed it’s about control, but there’s caring and enjoyment there as well.  Sometimes I think that’s sorely lacking in BDSM romance.

If you’re looking for a quick read to peak your curiosity, bring the heat, and you don’t mind a cliff hanger ending I’m going to say this is a must read.

Baby Stetson by Nikki Lynn Barrett
Genre - Romantic suspense
Length - Novel
TBR Reviewer - Daniella
Rating: 4 stars - A Recommended Read.
Heat: 3 - Blush Worthy.
This story is about Avery, who was adopted by two wonderful parents, after she was found abandoned on a door step. Her nickname and stage name as a singer is Baby Stetson, as when she was found as a baby she was wearing a little Stetson hat.Even though Avery is very happy with her adoptive parents and the
life she has, she can´t help but wonder about her birth parents.

The answers seem to be coming when two guests check in to the inn owned by her parents and causes a turmoil in Avery´s previously safe and stable life. One is the sexy, but very secretive Lucas, to whom Avery feels an immediate attraction. The other is a man who claims to be Avery´s birth father.

This was a very well written book with great characters and a great story. It had a very good balance of romance, suspense and action. It is a page turner, with a good plot that keeps you guessing about all the characters true stories and their motives. Avery and Lucas is a lovely couple with great chemistry. They had some ups and downs on their way to their, albeit a little bit rushed, happily ever after.

One part of the story came from left field a little and could have been left out (sister Paula) and the few sex scenes felt a bit clumsy (in otherwise great writing). All in all this was a very enjoyable and recommendable book and I can´t wait to read the next book about Avery´s childhood friend and band mate Jameson.

Jessica Jones was ripped apart when she found out that her  father was leaving her mother but that was nothing compared to the pain of watching her mother slowly die. While at the family cabin licking her wounds, life throws her a life jacket in the form of two hunky rescuers. Rory and Evan are more than happy to show Jessica that not all men are made alike, if they can just get her to take a chance on them.

Just another seal shifter… wait, nope, never read one of those before. Thank God, originality here we come! In every way this book was breath of fresh air to a jaded book reader such as myself. From the relationship to the shifters involved, even the plot kept me on my toes with all the emotion and the
anticipation as to where the book was headed. It was fast paced but the length and the fact that we were reading a shifter book balance everything out nicely.

I really like the characters. I wasn’t particularly a fan of Evan and Rory’s relationship as far as the bedroom but that’s the only glitch in the book and maybe if I’d understood their relationship a little bit better than it might have been smoother. Without knowing everything though the whole 'no, eww, we
share but I’m not touching him' with added blood brother, just didn’t work for me. However, the interaction with Jessica did and I really enjoyed their relationship with each other outside of the bedroom.  Regardless of  whether I got their physical relationship or not, I will say that the sex scenes had me flushed and roaring to go. They were HOT!

Riptide was a well written, steamy tease that I could not peel myself away from until the last page.

Veronica is about to be auctioned off to a husband. Will it be a fairy tale or a nightmare?

There was good world building. I liked the characters, Veronica was really great. Everything was a bit rushed but it was still an entertaining read with lots of heat. The sex was perfectly written, wicked and sensual. I would have loved a longer story to get more depth to the characters.

The First Time is a quick read that holds a lot of heat.

Warlock’s Pawn by Tara Quan

Heat: 4 Handcuffs – An Erotic Ride.
This is the second book I’ve read from this author and they’re bother really impressive. Warlock’s Pawn is unique, has a solid plot and I see great things in the future if she keeps writing fabulous stories like this.

Alia was a beautiful characters in looks and personality and Duncan is a sexy bad boy with a good heart. They tale is a romantic, heated coupling that I loved. Mira and Garr’s story really took away from the main characters. I would have liked to have had less of them in the book and expand more on Alia and Duncan. The story is fantastic though with some magic, wings and really nice world building. This was a quick read and very entertaining. I really enjoyed the romance and the adventure.

Warlock’s Pawn is a story of love among war and some magic to keep the plot unique.

Succubus Steam by Lila Shaw
Genre: Steampunk, Erotica, Paranormal
Length: Short
TBR Reviewer: Brutally Honest
Rating:  4 stars – A Recommended Read.
Heat: 4 handcuffs – An Erotic Ride.
This was an interesting short story about a woman desiring a man but finding too many big flaws, such as sucking the power from her, so she creates her own version on him. Add in some Succubus and
some steampunk, you have a really entertaining read.

The characters are well-written but a longer story, I think, would have developed them more. Still, they are very interesting and the author does a wonderful job mixing genre’s without skipping a beat. I loved the steampunk elements and the paranormal succubus bits. It was really was creative. The sex, well, let’s go with freaking hot!

Succubus Steam by Lila Shaw is a steampunked paranormal gem!

The Strength Of a Man By, Sara Winters
Page Count: 47 pages
Genre:Gay Romance
Warning: Sexual Abuse talked about
 TBR Reviewer: Luta Wolf
Rating: 4 stars -Recommended Read.
Heat: 4 handcuffs -An Erotic Ride
A young promising athlete with his whole world ahead of him. It’s funny how when you look through a window the house looks so much shinier than if you step on the inside. The truth is Kurt Dennings is finding it hard to have something to live for and he is simple waiting for that one more straw to break the camel’s back. James Theard knows what it’s like to be gay and he knows what it’s like to have your family turn their backs on you but he doesn’t really know if he can help Kurt with the other things that he is dealing with, that will take him helping himself. Are they strong enough?

As a short story it was special, it brought emotions to the forefront. It was like a painting, it seemed effortless and yet it was thought provoking. The first part of this is actually a short story with a little more to it and then we go into the extended version. It is no less thought provoking, beautiful, and the characters are even more rounded with the additional meat. We do lose some of the poetic element to it though and there begins to be a bit of repetitious stand still with the plot of the story.

I really loved the characters and enjoyed the hurt and care for elements but James went from “in a relationship you show your emotions with sex” to “I can hold out forever”. I picked up that there was growth due to age and finding someone he loves however there isn’t really a show of that progression in the book. I loved that James wasn’t some magical cure for the issues that Kurt had, there was
therapy and time. The book was very real and raw. Some of the emotions we see in James are age related and totally fit a Collage student. While I didn't always agree with some of Kurt's emotions such as how he couldn't see that he was abused, I could totally see how a young and insecure man would lay blame unto himself. This book was a hell of a lot more accurate when it comes to physical abuse than what I’ve seen in a long time.

All together, The Strength of a Man was very well written, enjoyable story that once again brought the emotions forward and brought me to tears.

Oh, Mickey you’re so fine, you’re so fine you blow my mind...but in this story Mickey is not a man but a female treasure hunter. Lily is the quiet, shy curator who's nursing a broken heart. Together sparks fly but will it last?

This was cute story. The heat was smoking and it was well-written. The characters didn’t have much development but I think that’s because of the length. This author did a great job with the genre
and I’m excited to read more from her.

The Baker Gets His Man by Rebecca Brochu
Genre: M/M contemporary romance
Length: short story (32 pgs)
TBR Reviewer: Amanda
Rating: 4 stars - A Recommended Read.
Heat: 4 handcuffs - An Erotic Ride.
Jacob Stine has lusted and drooled after Race Carroway since Race opened his repair shop across the street from the bakery Jacob owns with his best friend. One day the sexual tension between them finally erupts, but Race then runs away and avoids Jacob for days. Jacob then has to decide if it is worth risking his heart by giving Race another chance or if it is time to move on to protect himself.

I really enjoyed this read. The characters seemed to jump off the page and I really enjoyed their fumbling encounters. Both men kept letting their lust for each other take over for their  brains, and it caused some craziness between them. The resolution felt realistic and I liked that although it was too short for them to have "fallen in love", they both seemed ready to see where they could go with a relationship. It seemed to have the right amount of movement for a story of this length and I didn't feel cheated or rushed by the ending. This is an enjoyable story for when you have a shorter amount of time available to read.

Christmas Unexpected
Genre: Science Fiction, Romance
Length: Novella

Rating: 4 Stars – Recommended Read.
Heat: 4 Handcuffs – An Erotic Ride.
Kina is in a serious amount of trouble. First, someone puts contraband on her space ship making her the focus of an investigation, then someone attempts to shot her, throw in a car chase and a few
revelations, you have Christmas Unexpected.

I really liked Kina. She was a type of girl that wasn’t damsel in distress but not hardened to the core. Her past is tragic but she still had hope for the future. That is until this crazy set of events that sends her to Jake’s sexy arms. The heat is really smoking hot. The story would have easily been five stars but for the rushing. The entire book needed more scenic details. I would have loved to be transported into this new
futuristic world that the book takes place. There are some great action scenes that really get your blood pumping and a fantastic ending.

Christmas unexpected was a great treat, any time of year.
