Grace has always worked hard to make life easier for the people she loves. She even stayed to take care of her father, who abused her mentally and physically, just so her siblings could live their lives and dreams. When her father dies, Grace´s sister and brother, gifts her their share of the childhood home. Grace´s dream is to open a bed and breakfast in the big house, but to get the money to fix the house up she rents the rooms to a couple of old friends of
the family, her best friend Promise and her brother´s best friend Dillon.

I was a bit fooled by the cover and the blurb of this book. I got the impression this was a light-hearted romance, but it was certainly not that. It does have some romance, but it isn´t the main focus of the book. It is more about how getting over hurtful pasts, learning new truths, moving on, all with the support of friends and family.

This is definitely a character-driven book, where we get to follow all the people living in Grace´s house. I loved the characters and that they all had their problems, insecurities and quirks. There are a lot of things going on in this book at once and there are some pretty sad moments mixed in with the funny banter and witty dialogue in this book. This is not a typical romance with a happily ever after for all, no miracles or instant fixes, but as a reader I was still very happy with the journey and where the characters were at the end of the book.

Liz Flaherty has written an amazingly touching story with lovely and believable characters. I haven´t described the characters and the plot in detail, because I recommend others to read it for themselves. The story is very well written and I really enjoyed this book. I am not a crier, but parts of this book even made me shed a tear.
