Review
First of all – read the blurb. I think this is one of the best written blurbs I’ve read in a while. It shows the author has talent and confidence. I immediately wanted to read this, thankfully it was on the list for us to review.
Fanchon is a powerful woman with a streak of bad luck that really made me giggle. Add that to the fact that she has to marry a stuck up, Luca and there are those that don’t want that marriage to happen. Luca is only trying to do what's right and stop a war between their people. He’s a hot, good guy that comes off as an oaf.
The story had a good bit of magic that made the lack of surrounding details a little less noticeable. Then there was the action which wasn’t really action. This author needs more research/practice with those types of scenes. What’s with using fanchon’s name every few sentences? It just threw the flow off the way the name was added in. Perhaps the author was trying to make up for the uses of she, but this ‘fix’ failed miserable. There’s a lot of editing
mistakes also. What really made this book was the characters. Fanchon was entertaining and in depth. She had a sass to her that really lit the pages.
The Last Etruscan is an entertaining and sweet read.
