Romance Novel TBR reviewer: Shyla ReviewAs fresh faced teens Aaron and Bronwyn were madly in love, and planned to elope on her eighteenth birthday. There was just one problem. She never showed up. Dejected by her sudden change of heart Aaron leaves, and makes his way on his own. Eight years later Aaron returns to the site of heart ache to settle his grandfather’s will. When he discovers Bronwny has been working there for the past six years. His bitterness begins to yield to confusion and curiosity about what happened all those years ago. Can he put his anger aside long enough to discover the life altering truth? I found myself unable to become fully immersed in Deep Seated Passion because the plot line and the character background didn’t sit well with me. I felt like I was watching a horror movie, and telling the girl not to go into the dark basement, but she wouldn’t listen. I mean that in the sense that I found the situation between the heroine Aaron and his grandfather to be over the top and at odds with the way people spoke highly of him. If you saw someone treating a young man like the dirt on his shoe, would you really be able to look at him the same? No matter what the justification is, my answer is a resounding N-O. I wanted the hero Aaron to tell the old man to go straight to hell and not feed into his bullshit so bad! This is why I have to say it was well written and obviously engaging. Despite my dislike for some of the major issues the story was founded on. I was still invested in the characters, and the surroundings. There were plenty of details to paint a complete picture, and the plot was well thought out. The passion between Aaron and Bronwyn sizzles, and the origin of their love is based on sweetness and innocence. Ms. O’ Malley carefully guides you down the road she wants you to follow, tossing in curves and forks to keep things interesting. If you love romance full of depth, drama and twists this will be a wonderful addition to your collection. Purchase here |
