Harold is one of five siblings whose father has left the continent seeking the lover he gave up in his youth in order to marry and do his duty to carry on the family name and fortune. As all of the children are now adults, he wishes for each of them to find happiness as well. When Harold's oldest brother enlists him to help protect and hide an American that someone wants imprisoned, he finds a focus he has been lacking for anything except his experiments.
I find these two to be a fun couple, each denying the roles society tried to force them into. Martin refuses to believe that he is in any danger until it affects Harold as well, so that led to some interesting situations. I also liked how Harold was underestimated because of his preoccupied absent-minded scientist ways, but was actually quite intelligent and tough. Although historical romance is not my favorite genre, this series has a lot of laughs and fun characters. I can't wait to see which of these siblings finds his match next!
