Luca has a bad history and he was just given guardianship of his friends kid. Only the kid in question is a curvy eighteen-year-old that is testing his willpower. Mavis’s parents died and as it turned out, she wasn’t close to them, at all. She is however interested in her new guardian…
Mavis hated her parents, she feels like Luca wouldn’t be attracted because she’s not model thin, and a virgin. Okay so there are some clichés and jumping to conclusions here. I still liked Mavis. She reveals more about her life and how not perfect her parents were. Luca is screwed, or he’d like to be screwed. The more time he spends with Mavis the more he finds himself drawn to her. And then he spanks her? Really? That came across as so random and odd. Up until that point I was really getting into the story. Then she catches him watching porn which is much more understandable and works well to get back into the story. Then Luca takes her virginity and leaves her because he feels so guilty which makes Mavis feel used. There is so much potential here I just wish the author didn’t make it so clichéd. Once Luca does accept that there’s something important between them the heat factor kicks up to like a thousand. Very sexy! The ending is sweet and a happily ever after.
Dwayne is brand new to town and he’s fallen in lust with the fire chief’s daughter. The problem is, she doesn’t want him. If he could just get her to give him a chance...
I like gentle persistence in a man. Dwayne is just that. Blair is a sweet, small town girl who got burned by her last relationship. She feels she’s not strong enough to deal with this new thorn in her side but he’s wearing her down. I like how they are together. It’s like the two nicest people in the world came together and fell in love. Well, Dwayne has some hot dialogue so he isn’t the nicest person (dirty, sexy dialogue). I wish the scene where they are watching the other couple in the lake was longer. That is deliciously hot. I also like the idea that Dwayne has had sex with a man in the past. There’s literally one line in the story about it but it makes me like him even more because he’s so comfortable with his sexuality. I like this story. It is short with low angst and great sex.
Wicked Fireman is a sexy short story perfect before bed or before your husband comes home!
Lori is working a crap job in a crap neighborhood and is just trying to survive until tomorrow. When she refuses the local pimp he beats her up and that’s how she meets Chains. He’s just a hot guy that was nice to her at the dinner she works. Well, right up until he kidnaps her. Chains is a hitman for Killer of Kings and for a man that doesn’t do emotion, he’s having a lot of them for Lori.
Okay, so when Chains kidnaps Lori I was totally curious about how the authors would handle the situation. It actually works really freaking well. Chains is patient with her, giving her the ultimatum to stay with him for a week and then she can go but she can’t try to escape and he promises not to touch her. Normally, I’d scoff at that because let’s face it good guys don’t kidnap girls but like Lori I believed him. He has a way about him that’s almost tender. There’s something about his dominance that’s both gentle and yet scary but also hot. Seriously, he’s the perfect blend of bad boy and attentive lover. I guess you can tell I really like him? Lori has her family to take care of but she’s also tired of her hard life. She’s’ confused by Chains and I love her reactions. She interested and scared and intrigued and scared again. It just works so well for this story. And that first sex scene. Holy &$*^! It is so hot I almost expect to see my ereader smoking. (My husband wants to say thanks to the authors by the way. This book got me so hot and bother that he benefited, lol) The ending is entertaining and intense. I can’t wait to read more in this series!
Shadow is part of Killer of Kings. He’s a hitman who has a problem, his tempting nosy neighbor. Riley isn’t just curious, she’s intrigued and then obsessed with her sexy neighbor. But when she finds out the truth will it destroy their chances at a happy ending?
The beginning is really unbelievable. Riley follows her neighbor to a shady part of the town because she is curious as to why he’s an asshole? Seriously? She’s supposedly street smart from being in foster care and living on the street but her actions make that hard to believe. That said, once Riley and Shadow start talking things get so much better. It’s like a switch comes on behind the words. They’re bonding and Shadow does some crazy stuff to protect her which I think really brought their characters out. Then Shadow is starting to want Riley and Riley wants Shadow but they both have too many trust issues to actually start something. I love the way the author(s) wrote this. I could almost see their hard outer layers breaking. It is beautiful. And that first kiss! Wow, I’m melting it’s so hot. Then Riley impresses the hell out of me by showing her street smarts and then ...… freaks out? It’s like two different characters. She said she has had blood on her hands before but has a meltdown when it happens again. I really wish the authors would have gotten her character straight because I really like this whole story. Shadow stays himself, tough, stoic and broken inside. By the way, I will never, ever, freaking ever, look at a rolling pin the same way! *giggles* There is so much in this book I love and so much that seems off. Gah, I’m so on the fence about the rating. I think I’m going with a three but if you enjoy the other books in the series than I recommend giving Hard to Get a try.
Dark, dirty, dangerous ... lawless.
This is a twelve story anthology about all the sexy lawless couples you could possibly dream of. The one thing they all have in common is a lot danger and a lot of sexiness. These would be great to read before some alone time with your other half or with them!
The King of South Side by Loralynne Summers
Gentleman Jackson by Nicola Cameron
Hungry Eyes (The Covenant) by Gwendolyn Casey
Vandal by Amber Morgan
Given to a Killer by Sam Crescent
Angel Mine by Maia Dylan
Kiss of Death (Dark Heart) by Sandra Bunino
Hitman's Seduction by Olivia Starke
Hitman's Angel by Elyzabeth M. VaLey
Eli Logan's Return by Lila Shaw
Trust by Kait Gamble
The Last DiLuca by Beth D. Carter
I can only say I had hard time picking just one story as my favorite. They each are perfect for romantic suspense readers such as myself. If I had to pick just one…damn I can’t! It’d be a three-way tie between Angel Mine by Maia Dylan, Kiss of Death by Sandra Bunino and Hitman’s Angel by Elyzabeth VaLey. They had the best stories that really packed a punch in such a short span. I wasn’t so crazy about the MC stories. Maybe because lately they all seem to have the same plot? One thing all the stories did deliver on was the sexy factor! Yummy!
If you’re looking to get a glimpse into some sexy stories but not commit to anything too long, Lawless should already be on your tbr list!
The love of June’s life walks out on her pregnant and heartbroken. She learned a harsh lesson and when that asshole returns she refuses to be anything but angry. Killian is on the job when he falls in love with June. His past a lie but sometime later he finds her and his child. This Irish assassin had no idea he had a kid, let alone one with the woman he fell for completely. Can he change her mind? Will he get a second chance?
I went into this book immediately hating Killian. Judging? Yes. I hate the fact that he left her and yes, I know it was to protect her. Let me just say, by the end of the book, I love Killian. I understood why he did what he did. He’s an assassin but it’s always the criminals and creeps. Now, I’m feeling a bit bad about judging him so harshly in the beginning. This is a fabulous, sweet, sexy, dark story about Killian finding his happy ending. June is naive when she thought Killian would be hers forever, that quickly changes when he walks out on her. My heart broke for her. Raising her child, dejected, trying to move on (hugging my kindle). The story plays out beautifully. From hate to tolerating to like to love and then the danger kicks in. Romance, suspense and talented authors makes this a five-star combination!
Charming Asshole is completely charming and a total must read!

Rock is the president of the motorcycle club Satan’s Demons and he has his eyes on the curvy cleaning lady. He’s not sure how to handle a woman like this but he’s going to figure it out because the Rock always gets his way. Adele content living her life and trying not to think of her cheating ex but then Rock gives her a choice to sleep with him. Lonely and starving for touch, Adele gives in.
Talk about an alpha male, wow! Rock is possessive and sexy and making me squirm. He doesn’t sugar coat anything including how he feels about Adele. She’s not timid, a bit awkward but she comes across as your average woman. I love how she’s not afraid to open herself, physically, to rock but the emotional stuff is harder. The plot is all romance with no action or drama. The romance is hot but a bit much. There are too many sex scenes in a row. I feel like they aren’t spaced out well. Overall, I liked The Biker’s Desire. I wish it had more meat, more story and some action in there.
If you’re looking for something hot to read give The Biker’s Desire a try!
Cassie has a bad history with men but she’s content to focus on her job. But her next-door neighbor and co-worker, deputy Slade is driving her nuts. Must he have sex with women outside and it’s always a different girl! When the come to a tentative truce they both find out there’s more to each other than what’s on the surface.
Cassie rocks! She’s had a tough past and is now very guarded but I love the way she deals with Slade. She doesn’t fall over him, she stands up to him. She’s not weak and worthless. She isn’t falling for his sexual pickup lines or his handsome face…at first. There’s a slow chipping away at her resolve that I really love reading. Jared doesn’t date just uses women for sex but that pattern is changing now that he’s gotten to know his neighbor and co-worker Cassie. Their romance is tantalizing and intoxicating. I couldn’t stop reading! There isn’t much action but that didn’t matter because their story really pulled me in. I wanted to see how they finally admitted to each other about their feelings. The ending is really rushed though and I wish the author would have taken her time telling us about Cassie and Slades happy ending.
If you’re looking for a hot, quick read this book will be perfect fit.
Jared is in love. Hopelessly, helplessly, completely in love. The problem is that Freya is self-conscious and doesn’t understand how much she means to him.
This is a simple but sweet story of falling in love and getting that elusive happily ever after. I like Jared. His feelings for Freya come through loud and clear. His intentions are honorable and from his heart. Which is why some of the creepy bits feel acceptable, such as the camera’s in the apartment. Jared persistence is a complete turn on too. Freya has issues and she doesn’t want to want Jared but she does. We women can be a complicated bunch. I like the push and pull between them. The romance is hot if a little predictable. Freya’s a virgin and Jared’s a sex god. Addicted to his Touch hit that swoon spot for me though. I’ve been in the mood for this kind of sweep you off your feet book. Jared and Freya are perfect for that satisfaction.
Bain’s had a rough life, made rougher by his decision to work for Killer Of Kings but things went awry. Now he’s got a curvy little temptation tied up in the basement…...
Scarlett is simply at the wrong place at the wrong time. She’s desperate in her career but when an assassination attempt happens, she’s kidnapped by the hitman Bain. They are a seriously complicated couple but their romance worked deliciously. I like the push and pull between them that ultimately leads to a ‘happy ending’.
Is you like dark, twisted romance then you’re going to love this series! Broken Bastard is a must read!
