Lori is working a crap job in a crap neighborhood and is just trying to survive until tomorrow. When she refuses the local pimp he beats her up and that’s how she meets Chains. He’s just a hot guy that was nice to her at the dinner she works. Well, right up until he kidnaps her. Chains is a hitman for Killer of Kings and for a man that doesn’t do emotion, he’s having a lot of them for Lori.
Okay, so when Chains kidnaps Lori I was totally curious about how the authors would handle the situation. It actually works really freaking well. Chains is patient with her, giving her the ultimatum to stay with him for a week and then she can go but she can’t try to escape and he promises not to touch her. Normally, I’d scoff at that because let’s face it good guys don’t kidnap girls but like Lori I believed him. He has a way about him that’s almost tender. There’s something about his dominance that’s both gentle and yet scary but also hot. Seriously, he’s the perfect blend of bad boy and attentive lover. I guess you can tell I really like him? Lori has her family to take care of but she’s also tired of her hard life. She’s’ confused by Chains and I love her reactions. She interested and scared and intrigued and scared again. It just works so well for this story. And that first sex scene. Holy &$*^! It is so hot I almost expect to see my ereader smoking. (My husband wants to say thanks to the authors by the way. This book got me so hot and bother that he benefited, lol) The ending is entertaining and intense. I can’t wait to read more in this series!
Shadow is part of Killer of Kings. He’s a hitman who has a problem, his tempting nosy neighbor. Riley isn’t just curious, she’s intrigued and then obsessed with her sexy neighbor. But when she finds out the truth will it destroy their chances at a happy ending?
The beginning is really unbelievable. Riley follows her neighbor to a shady part of the town because she is curious as to why he’s an asshole? Seriously? She’s supposedly street smart from being in foster care and living on the street but her actions make that hard to believe. That said, once Riley and Shadow start talking things get so much better. It’s like a switch comes on behind the words. They’re bonding and Shadow does some crazy stuff to protect her which I think really brought their characters out. Then Shadow is starting to want Riley and Riley wants Shadow but they both have too many trust issues to actually start something. I love the way the author(s) wrote this. I could almost see their hard outer layers breaking. It is beautiful. And that first kiss! Wow, I’m melting it’s so hot. Then Riley impresses the hell out of me by showing her street smarts and then ...… freaks out? It’s like two different characters. She said she has had blood on her hands before but has a meltdown when it happens again. I really wish the authors would have gotten her character straight because I really like this whole story. Shadow stays himself, tough, stoic and broken inside. By the way, I will never, ever, freaking ever, look at a rolling pin the same way! *giggles* There is so much in this book I love and so much that seems off. Gah, I’m so on the fence about the rating. I think I’m going with a three but if you enjoy the other books in the series than I recommend giving Hard to Get a try.
The love of June’s life walks out on her pregnant and heartbroken. She learned a harsh lesson and when that asshole returns she refuses to be anything but angry. Killian is on the job when he falls in love with June. His past a lie but sometime later he finds her and his child. This Irish assassin had no idea he had a kid, let alone one with the woman he fell for completely. Can he change her mind? Will he get a second chance?
I went into this book immediately hating Killian. Judging? Yes. I hate the fact that he left her and yes, I know it was to protect her. Let me just say, by the end of the book, I love Killian. I understood why he did what he did. He’s an assassin but it’s always the criminals and creeps. Now, I’m feeling a bit bad about judging him so harshly in the beginning. This is a fabulous, sweet, sexy, dark story about Killian finding his happy ending. June is naive when she thought Killian would be hers forever, that quickly changes when he walks out on her. My heart broke for her. Raising her child, dejected, trying to move on (hugging my kindle). The story plays out beautifully. From hate to tolerating to like to love and then the danger kicks in. Romance, suspense and talented authors makes this a five-star combination!
Charming Asshole is completely charming and a total must read!
Bain’s had a rough life, made rougher by his decision to work for Killer Of Kings but things went awry. Now he’s got a curvy little temptation tied up in the basement…...
Scarlett is simply at the wrong place at the wrong time. She’s desperate in her career but when an assassination attempt happens, she’s kidnapped by the hitman Bain. They are a seriously complicated couple but their romance worked deliciously. I like the push and pull between them that ultimately leads to a ‘happy ending’.
Is you like dark, twisted romance then you’re going to love this series! Broken Bastard is a must read!
Prepare yourself ...…this book is intense!
Viper is hired to kill Pepper but he’s attracted to the curvy lady who in turn hires him to protect her. He’s happy to oblige even if he’s risking his life for this beautiful stranger.
Wow! Hello! This book is crazy good! Viper is pure sex on legs. He’s gorgeous but he’s got that dark side that makes him extremely dangerous. Pepper is an insecure (really, really insecure) woman that is dealing with a family that wants her dead. I love the plot, it’s a romantic suspense burst. It’s splattered with sex scenes that had me very nearly drooling over my ereader. Seriously. Fans self.
If you like dark romance, then Taking Her Innocence should be at the top of your TBR pile!

It’s like a buffet of hot men, sex and engaging plots! I’m totally in love with this anthology. I think Finders Keepers by Stacey Espino may have inched out in the amazing department. I’ve read it twice and still enjoy every second of the story. But don’t discount the other stories! What an amazing bunch of sexy shifter tales.
Love anthologies? Read this! Love shifters? Read this! Love romance or drama or action....Basically, read Owned by the Alpha!
Helena has a problem , three actually and they’re all shifters.
Oh, I loved this book so much! I fell in love with Helena and her sexy men, Wesley, Targus and Marco. This pairing was so freaking hot and wonderful. I loved the shifter element too! I could not stop reading as Wesley met Targus and Marco. They were all competing for the beautiful brunette. This story wasn’t just romance, oh no, it had action too!
For me, Forbidden Mate is a must read and I highly recommend it for shifter lovers!
Threesome by Stacey Espino
TBR Reviewer: Brutally Honest
Rating: 5 Stars – A Must Read.
Heat: 5 handcuffs – Orgasmic.
Two things you should take away from this short: Always know where you can find a long, thick cucumber and NEVER call a plumber for some erotic fun! Lol. This short was great. Threesome had humor, smoking hot sex and enjoyable characters. I was impressed how well rounded the story was considering its length. Branson was oh so sexy and Max was just as drool worthy. This duo should be packaged and sold in stores, damn! The twist at the end was just perfect. I didn’t expect that! Well played, Ms.Espino, well played.
The changing Point of views so often did get a bit jumpy but that was just a hiccup. There were also a few instances of head hopping but again, nothing too distracting. With the few issues it SHOULD be a four star review but I just so completely fell in love with this story. I HAD to give it five shiny stars. Threesome deserved them! Once again, the author impresses me with her talent at storytelling and freaking hot sex.
Threesome is a short read packed with a seriously sexy punch. This is a must read!
Erotica - novella
TBR reviewer: Amanda
Twenty-six year old Kaya is transferring colleges due to lack of money and dealing with the disastrous ending of her eight-month relationship. As the only child of missionary parents, her life and experience make her feel isolated and different from her younger classmates. She shocks herself when she falls in instant lust with her philosophy professor and decides to pursue him, another out-of-character move. For forty-two year old Hayden Taylor, having Kaya in his philosophy class moves him away from the apathy he has been in since long before his fifteen-year marriage fell apart two years previously. He finds himself considering risking his career with thoughts of having the younger woman in his life. Her age and status as his student are marks against them, but her intelligence and beauty call to him. Her innocence appeals to his long-buried dominant side, as well. However, just as they begin to risk the forbidden by seeing each other, a threat to his job starts to pull them apart.
Although the story had appealing moments, I didn't really feel connected to the characters. The writing had choppy moments, and there were also some editing issues that kept me from getting fully involved in the story. Their instant attraction to each other felt contrived and neither of them seemed to react consistently with their own inner monologues, much less with each other. Even the climactic issue near the end fell short of what it seemed to be
reaching for and the ending felt flat.
I think there was potential in this plot that just wasn't quite achieved. Even the BDSM was hinted at but never really shown, as if there would have been more to see if the story had continued on after the chosen endpoint. I felt as if the relationship could have been more believable if the book had been longer or the story covered a longer time-period than it did.
