music and musicians. In Sue Holston's book, a journalist with a music magazine is tasked to interview the lead singer of a band and follow the band on tour. Right of the bat, Graham Henderson finds himself at odds with lead singer, Ethan James, who just wants to make music and hide all the dirty laundry journalists seem to want to trumpet from the rooftops. Graham, who uses an unusual tactic to get Ethan to speak to him, promises to let Ethan approve what he writes, and the two take off on a very rocky journey.
This book is full of sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll, with disintegrating band members, pasts coming back to haunt people, and presents that are none too rosy. I loved the way the author was able to make me nearly hear the music, feel the heat and excitement of the crowds, and see the difference between venues of
the book. I loved Graham's integrity - he kept his word even when it did him incredible harm. I really felt for Ethan as the band he had created fell apart around him, but he often in the book reacted in the wrong way. Yet, Graham still stuck by him and together they fought to a place where they could be happy.
I thoroughly loved this book and would love to see a sequel to it.
