Poor Elizabeth, she had a piece of shit father that beats her and when she gets the courage to runaway she’s picked up by a creep that rapes her. Now that she’s in the city she’d determined to make a difference with a little help from a beautiful, sexy dame.
Freaking fabulous! This time period isn’t used often and that’s such a shame. The author did a stunning job with the details and language. It really made me feel like I jumped back in time. Elizabeth was a very well written character. She was someone I wanted to see succeed in life. Between the likable characters and the excellent plot, this was a must read. There’s some great history references in here. I would definitely describe the sex as sensual and hot. She had more emotion and more beauty in the coupling. It was really quite wonderful to read. Although there is f/f in here I don’t think this would be a strict f/f novel based on the ending.
I really would love to read more from this author and this time period. She did an amazing job with Votes for Vixens and I highly recommend this novella.
Maiden Behind The Mask by Tara Chevrestt

Rating: 3 Stars – It was a good read.
Sword fighting, damsels in distress and secrets all describe Maiden behind the Mask. This book was very well written. It had a balanced amount of action and romance. The characters were likable. I enjoyed their interaction.
So, why only three stars? Unoriginal. I’ve read this plot several times from big authors and small press. They have the same formula and it really didn’t capture me because, well, I’ve read similar stories. It was still a good read and if you haven’t read any damsel-turned-predator books, try this.
