Alex Johnson is skating along in life, barely, but he is doing it. His Asperger’s Syndrome has made interacting with other’s more than a bit complicated but he’s doing it. Add to that the added bonus that he’s almost sure that he’s gay. Yeah, he’s making it but his whole world begins to change very quickly after a sequence of events involving prior scientific experimentation and bullying.
First chapter into this book and I was already thinking in my head that this was an A plus, five star story all the way. It’s interesting, unique, and highly entertaining. We get into the meat of the story and it’s knocked down to a four star because of repetitiveness. There are only so many times that I want to hear how much the character thinks how hot he is and jacks off in his room/shower/insert other places. Still interaction with other characters and wittiness were going strong so my over all interest was still intact. Then the end happens and I kid you not that I woke up my husband to tell him that I was given only half a book.
After telling my husband to go back to bed, I sat there in disbelief that I had only half a book. I deleted, went back to PDF file and Re-downloaded, flipped to end of story and it still hadn’t changed. That’s when it began to process that was supposed to be the ending! If someone had just handed this book back to the author and said “give me a little more meat to the plot other than animal rights vandals and never end a book that way” we could easily have a five star book on our hands.
So yeah, while this is really good and well written, it’s very clearly a work in progress book in my opinion.
