I was intrigued by the premise of this story, but I couldn’t get into it. I felt like I was watching a documentary. I’m not a huge fan of first person, it has to be done just so to really immerse you into the story, and for me this wasn’t one of those times.
Rebecca is the adventurous type who likes to try new things. So when Will, the attractive, wall street worker she’s been dating, invites her to try bondage she’s ready to let him pop her cherry. This is where the book should become very interesting, but instead it lost me. The
scenes were alive with sound, and textures. I could picture it in my mind very clearly, Ms. Dantes does a phenomenal job with that. It simply lacked a bond, or deep emotional connection.
I also didn’t like the way he dismissed her concerns, I.E. I don’t like safe words. That’s not a way to enter a BDSM relationship. Especially since they don’t know one another, and Rebecca is a novice. That particular exchange bothered me. It’s the Dom’s responsibility to have a solid accord with his Submissive, or in this case Slave. Without that, things get scary.
