Wynter's Horizon by Dee C. May
Genre: paranormal/romantic suspense

Rating: 3 Stars- A Good Read
Heat: 4 Handcuffs - An Erotic Ride.
Beck and Wynter first meet on a beach - but no ordinary beach. This beach is apparently between worlds; all the people on it are between life and death, in comas or just unable to move on for some reason. Beck is a British mercenary being tortured by the enemy; Wynter is an American college student in a deadly car accident. Two people with seemingly nothing in common, yet later their paths cross again and the spark from the beach kindles again. Unfortunately, the secrets from both of their pasts keep getting in their way.
This book had a very slow start and it was hard for me to get really interested in it. It
almost felt like there were too many threads going. Wynter had her history with Abby and Jason and her guilt left over from the accident. Beck had his supernatural abilities, his work for the British government in black operations and his history with Lilly. The push and pull between the two of them was a good story and so was Lilly seeking her revenge, but there was so much extraneous in the story that overall, I could not find it enthralling and had to keep forcing myself to return to it. I also felt like the ending was a non-ending, but could be redeemed if there is a sequel at some point. (It especially irritated me that after all the build-up, Beck never did discuss with Wynter the initial meeting at the mystical beach.)
