The book starts with Elizabeth finishing up with a gyno visit. That’s where she meets a sexy new nurse and he drinks her blood! It’s definitely an unexpected meeting. I found it different and entertaining. Alex is overwhelmed with thirst for Elizabeth. He has to find her and convince her that he means her and her daughter no harm. But harm does come to them in the form of Alex’s past…
Yeah, that beginning is awkward. I wish she’d have just been giving blood or I don’t know something else. Did Elizabeth really see Alex drinking her blood? Alex is surprised by his attraction to Elizabeth. They do have some great chemistry. When his past catches up things finally get some action. The point of view jumps are really rough though. There’s no warning, just a jump in first person point of view. I had a hard time following that, it did diminish some of the joy of reading the story. There are a few twists in the book and some good sex scenes that is sure to heat your blood. If you love vampire romances (huge Trueblood fan here), I’d suggest giving Drawing Bloodlines a read.

Patience has a flash drive from work that may just get her killed. She’s saved by an unlikely person or should I say, vampire. Myth is only trying to help but he quickly becomes intrigued by the attractive stranger. Both have people hunting them, can they escape a terrible fate and find love in each other arms?
I have to say I’m so happy with Patience as a character. Yes, she grateful to be saved but she doesn’t trust this stranger who talks a bit old world which is such a huge relief. She’s running from dangerous people who are after terrible secrets (you’ll have to read the book to discover them). When Myth saves her, they start a battle that neither of them expects and a romance that neither of them can fight. She did accept the whole vampires are real thing too quickly. Some dialogue is odd as well, not Myth, but other characters. The romance is beautiful and sexy. I really enjoyed this paranormal suspense!
Despite the very contemporary looking cover this book is in fact paranormal fantasy. Princess Miranda is heir to the throne and warrior against the vampyres. Sathan, king of the vampyres, must travel with Miranda to end the violence between their peoples. Will a truce be found or will war break out?
Miranda is a princess but more of a warrior princess and I am all for that! Sathan is a sexy vampire who wants peace. Together they go on an action-packed journey in hope of stopping the Daemons and preventing war. The world building is what threw me. It’s very complicated and I had a hard time following it but the author also has a lot of very none fantasy dialogue/names that pulled me right out of the setting. There are also a lot of character introductions that tends to muddle who is who. Miranda and Sathan have great chemistry! I really like their romance, very sexy and the added vampyre fangs is definitely a turn on. This is an interesting start to a fantasy series. I’m interested in seeing where the story will go.
Gail’s getting over a deadbeat abusing boyfriend, when a stranger enters the diner where she works as a waitress. It’s late, and Gail wants to go home. The plot’s simple—vampire fancies woman. She can’t resist and quickly succumbs to his charms. Sadly, the vampire, Drew, has enemies who are chasing him. He uses Gail’s apartment as a bolt-hole…with benefits.
Want a hot quickie? Yes. Include a few vampires to add a splash of spice? Yes. Then, this one’s for you. I enjoyed the fast pace and easy reading. The sex is smoking…Drew has centuries of experience and demonstrates how to make a woman orgasm with only his tongue. By the end of this quickie…he shows much more. I don’t want to spoil the plot, but you can guess what happens from the title—Novice. Drew’s enemies catch up with him, big battle…but all does not go well. I’m holding my breath for Dark Kingdom II. You may ask…why not a five? That's because of a couple of moving parts and grammar style. They don’t impact the flow, and Novice is still a recommended read.
Jo is at her wits ends. She’s trying to care for her daughter but she’s also attracted to the sexy dom. She finds out he’s a vampire and her daughter has a miraculous recovery. Will she ever give in to her feelings or will their kind be simply to much for her to accept?
Neither of them are expecting that zing when they see each other but it makes for a great story. I like Jo. She’s just trying to give her daughter all she can and the only way to do that is to enter The Games. Henri is drawn to her, a sexy dom who also happens to be a vampire. I’m a huge fan of vampires. This is a sexy story about two unlikely people meeting and falling for each other. Oh, and sex. We cannot forget about those sex scenes! Yummy!
Vampires? Check. Hot sex? Check. Great characters? Check. Must read!

Meagan is on the hunt for a killer but so is David. Can these two figure out the mystery and understand the paranormal ties?
There are too many point of view changes too quickly. I got whiplash and it is that way through most of the story. Thankfully, it is a great story! Meaghan is attracted to the mostly naked model but she can’t let it deter her from her mission: Find a killer. David is equally as attracted but he’s surprisingly on the same mission. When they’re together sparks fly but a killer still hunts in the shadows. Add in some paranormal elements and some sexy scenes for a good time! Overall this is an entertaining story. I’d recommend it to those who like paranormal mysteries. You should absolutely check out The Art of Seduction!
Title: The Officer and the Vampire Chef
Author: Charlie Richards
Length: 94 pages
Genres: vampire, contemporary romance,
TBR Reviewer: Erica
Rating: 3 Stars - A good read!
Heat: 3/5 -—blush worthy
A vampire chef is happily going about his life when he crashes into a robbery that leads to sparks with a human cop.
This was my first book by Charlie Richards, and I was looking forward to it. I wasn’t sure what to expect but let me start off by saying, the writing is excellent and the story is a fun short read. The story doesn’t have a good deal of the fantasy vampire world in it. The characters all carry on like humans other than mentions of blood donors. The vampire chef, Patrick, is a fun character with his blue toe nails and his very human way of disarming a robber by throwing eggs at him. Patrick also likes to dance and has a thing for fashion it seems. He’s also a good cook obviously which you rarely see in vampire romances. I like seeing it here because it adds a human dimension to vampires—it’s a wink and a nudge to the humans they once were. When Patrick stops a robbery and officer Allen Robinson comes to the scene the two don’t automatically hit it off, but it’s clear to Patrick that Allen is his beloved—soul mate. Patrick and Allen have one meal together and some hot making out but Allen is a virgin who’s so deep in the closet he steers clear of Patrick after that. So, with the help of friends, Patrick resorts to a little old-fashion game playing with a plot to run into Allen at a policeman’s dance.
I thought the story was fun but short. I would love to have seen more interaction between Patrick and Allen before Allen just accepts that Patrick is a vampire and gets involved with him. However, Allen’s reticence to come out of the closet even after the two men start dating is realistic.
I would recommend this story to anyone looking for a quick read with a hint of the supernatural, some good sex, and good writing.
Eli is a dark, brooding vampire that has a long troubled history but Eli can’t remember it. He lives with a ghost that’s completely smitten with him. When Eli finds himself in a field of Nazi death he finds a survivor, Ethan.
This book is overly complicated. It was sort of like those cooking shows on tv where you have to use certain ingredients (Vampires, ghosts, ect) but the chef see’s all this great stuff (angels, demons, ect) in the pantry and goes overboard. Perfect description. Not that I didn’t like the story. On the contrary I really enjoyed this vampiric journey. Eli’s complicated, sarcastic and super sexy! These are intense and twisted history’s that really brought this book to a unique level. It is humorous, intense, dark and at times, very slow moving! There is so much potential here. I’m so angry that an editor didn’t really get in here and shred this story so only the amazing parts remained. There are amazing bits! I’m loving Eli so hard. His dark nature and damaged personality make him all the more intriguing. His sarcasm is so on point and entertaining! I absolute love and am horrified by the twists. Wow! Add in Ethan, the ghost with a butt like a trampoline and the complicated angel, you have yourself a solid four star read.
Four Hundred Years Hard...
How long can you make love last? How long can you wait for it to return, and what would you do to get it back? Will Farmer and Thomas Langley have one last chance to bring their lost lover back to them, but will she be the same as they remember? When Ruby Matthews is faced with a terrifying but seductively irresistible proposition, will she choose to leave the world of the living in exchange for an un-dead life of endless love? Will and Thomas are vampires, and lovers. Four hundred years ago they were a threesome along with the lovely Anne Baker, until Anne was brutally murdered before they could turn her, and was lost to them for centuries. When a Witch's spell offers the hope of recovering Anne, Will and Thomas gladly accept the risks. But modern-day Ruby Matthews has no idea that her tortuous October nightmares are the precursor to a long-awaited soul reunion with not only her vampire lovers, but a woman long dead.
This short story is a fast-paced read that delivers exactly what the title suggests, a loving reunion that gets right down to business and packs a red-hot sensual punch. With guy-on-guy as well as some threesome action, the sexy scenes are both macabre and exciting; as you'd expect whenever fangs are involved. Even so, Will and Thomas's gentle nature make the seduction of Ruby sweet, satisfying and utterly complete. The only disappointment is that the old theme of the multi-century wait for that "perfect mate" is getting a little tiresome for this reader. But if you like predictable vampire love stories, this is a good, quick read to "liven" up a "dead" boring commute to work, and leave you ready to tackle the day with fresh blood!
This is such a weird idea. A vampire working at the north pole. Yeah, it made me giggle. It is actually a really great story! Christopher is a tired Chief Toy Officer who happens to be a vampire. Samantha is tasked by Santa to be his assistant but both of them are having a hard time keeping it professional…
Quirky. Yeah, that describes this book. I love the twist in the story with Santa being a businessman rather that the jolly guy we know. The world is more of a modern factory type of place. I really like that twist. The chemistry between Christopher and Samantha is immediate. Both of them feel that pull but sneaking off to make out when toys are due is seriously frowned upon. I love, love, love (yes that needed to be written three times) these characters. Once the lust goes over the edge for these two it’s a steamy sleigh ride. (See what I did there?) Samantha is a bit awkward and Christopher is so damn sexy. But Samantha isn’t going to just fall into his arms, despite how hot he is, which makes me like her even more. I love this story and I’m not usually one for Christmas tales. The Beauty of Forever may have just changed my mind about reading more holiday books.
A must read no matter the time of the year! I cannot wait to read more books in this series!
