Zach is a doctor who has worked hard to get where he is. His life is all about his job. This doesn’t leave much time for anything else. But he does want more. The more is just going to have to understand the job comes first. Dylan is a firefighter; his schedule doesn’t leave time for romance. So he’s been happy playing the field. Until he’s hurt and meets the good doctor, then he wants more too.
This story I was a bit torn about. I liked the story but had some difficulty with parts of it. Zach came off as a bit of an jerk at times and it almost seemed that the author wanted to make him into a Dom type character. And Dylan went from a macho firefighter to a sometimes whiny wimp. But there were parts that I really did like as well. The conflict of schedule work was well explained by the author. As was the dedication to jobs that serve the public. I loved how Dylan stood up for himself when Zach blew off a dinner he’d slaved over to cook. But, I wondered how much research the author did before writing this book. I believe this story is set in Seattle, WA. I live in the USA. I know firefighters and I have never heard a firefighter called a firey. Ever. And it’s used enough for it to have bothered me.
Dr. Zach's Hot Fireman was a solid three star read!
