TBR reviewer: Amanda
with the First Contact and all the strange things that occur because of it.
Mr. Alders writing is often snarky and quite amusing. The situations the four young men arrive in are strange and wild. The sex is frequent and often open in this book. The two couples both seem to grow stronger as the story progresses, but the main couple followed, Ely and Emerson, are the most amusing because of the switch in their personalities. In the first book, Ely seemed like the more out-going, aggressive, but as their relationship grew, Emerson became more confident to the point where he has become the dominant force in their relationship. The interactions between them, both on and off the mission are very fun to read about, and the tangles in dealing with the aliens when they are completely clueless are hysterical. I especially enjoyed the trick played on them by the species they seek out for help.
The four different species presented show quite a range of possibilities within an almost Star Trek style universe, and I look forward to the third book to see how the complexities of the
relationships between the four alien species play out.
