Steampunk, Fantasy, Pirates,
TBR Reviewer: Brutally Honest
Oh no, head hopping, major horrible head hopping! I was so disappointed when an entire chapter was so badly written. It was an interesting look into all the characters but with all the jumping from person to person it really ruined the start of the book. There were some instances that really stood out such as the author explaining what a Power Monkey was. It was so technical, instead of blending it into the story it was just sort of added like a dictionary lookup. The action scenes in the last two books were so entertaining and here they were just rather dull. Sure, there was action but nothing different and with the jumping to each characters it was very confusing. There were also more editing issues that hindered the story.
I loved this series but this particular book fell flat. It needs to be edited with a fine tooth comb. No more head hopping, fix the grammar issues, work on solid action scenes from one Point of View and then maybe it’ll be enjoyable. I’m sorry to say this is a waste. I do however, recommend the other two books in this series, they were gems.
