commit herself solely to him.

Isabella is chosen by her wealthy and cruel aunt. She’s taken and taught to be a lady as they prepare to sell her virginity to the highest bidder.

I noticed the pace was very disjointed. Some parts were rushed where others very slow moving. The writing itself was flawless with a few editing issue that had little impact on the story.

I rather enjoyed this book but for one thing, Salvatore. It’s one of those ‘why would she take him back’ things. He left her several times when she needed him, then he left her with her husband at the most horrid time possible. He kept refusing her and treating her beneath him. I understand, as the story unfolds, why he does this and why he can’t have her. It didn’t make what he did right and in my opinion, he never recovered his honor. Therefore, the HFN ending made no sense to me.

That said, Lumina/Isabella was a diamond in the rough and she ruled with bigger balls then the men she slept with. I really loved this character which is why Lumina has a good 3 star rating. She was a refreshing twist on a historical woman. The sex is also hot and creative.

Although Salvatore never recovered his good name in my eyes, Lumina was worth reading
this. This book was pleasant but I suggest you read Ms. Fox’s other books, they are fabulous!

For ten years Kal Hakala has been the Bureau of Supernatural Investigation's top man, the longest surviving agent in its blood-soaked history. The World At Large has no idea that The World Under exists. And its vampires, demons, zombies, and mythic monsters are growing
increasingly restless. In all Kal's time with the Bureau, there has been no case he couldn't crack, no monster he couldn't kill. Then a plague of zombies comes to Denver, along with a vicious serial killer dubbed The Organ Donor.A childhood encounter with a legendary monster has left Kal with an endless supply of rage and hatred for all things Supernatural. But now the target is on his forehead, and the Un-Dead don't die easy. The Bureau has a few aces of its own-a few magicians, a cyber-ghost. Unfortunately Kal is a perennial loner ... And the
World Under is wise to his tricks.

Review

Picture
I started reading Things to Do in Denver When You’re Un- Dead for zombies. Cause everyone knows I love a good story about the undead. What I discovered as a I read was so much more. Mark Stone must be one witty, dark, sarcastic and twisted man.. ( I mean that in the best possible way of course)  Because he put all of that, and then  into this book!  In this tale, the hidden world of supernatural’s referred to as the World Under is policed by BSI, Bureau of Supernatural Investigation.

To say they’re not your average task force would be putting it lightly. We have BSI agents who are ghosts, magicians, and various human bad asses.  The average life expectancy of an agent it three to four years tops. However, our hero Agent Kala is an exception to that rule with ten years under his belt and the position to back it.  Kal drinks too much, and has a streak of sarcasm that could cut you to the quick if you took him seriously.  But in his defense, he’s seen more dead bodies than a mortician. His quirky sense of humor, off the wall style, and clever mind give him a charm that proves to be irresistible. You can’t help but love Agent Kal, even though at times he’s a total train wreck.

The BSI is in Denver to eradicate and investigate a rash of zombie risings when Kal discovers something terrifying. The local serial killer is a supernatural, and more powerful than anything he’s ever encountered.  In this world magicians are real. Think Merlin for the 20th century.  The serial killer is not just a magician, but a revenant. Yes, I said revenant, as in old Renny from Dracula. The combination is deadly, and when Kal gets a visit from a supped up Ghoul that almost puts him out of commission the caca really hits the fan.

I could tell you more about the story but I don’t want to give everything away. ;).I laughed, gasped, and sat stunned in silence when Mark dropped his plot bombs. If you’re looking for a smart read, with action, depth, and creative use of legends this is spot on. I personally highly recommend this one.

Mondays suck. Always. Standard rule in life. In fact, it might just be rule #3, right after Feces Occurs and Anything That Can Go Wrong Will. Mondays are the days that your boss will hit you with the next Big Thing that the corporate office reckons will change the paradigm of whatever business you find yourself in. It’s also the day that you have to play catch up for whatever might have occurred on the two previous days you were off.

For me it wasn’t the Next Big Thing as much as it was The Next Big Bad Thing That Wants To
Rip Your Damn Fool Head Off, so it was with my usual sense of dread that I parked my blue Honda Accord in my assigned spot and staggered towards the brown brick building that housed the Denver offices of the BSI.

Spyeyes surrounding the building tracked my arrival and the Shape of a ward spell tingled against my feet as I stepped over gray-painted gold wire draped hither and yon over the asphalt walkway.

Working for the Bureau was always interesting, and I mean that in the Chinese curse sort of
way. Don’t get me wrong, the pay is great and I get to wear a gun, which is always fun, but the life expectancy at the Bureau of Supernatural Investigations is usually one to two years. If you’re good, maybe three. If you’re great, maybe between four and six.

I’ve been  at the job for ten and the odds were that I’d get my ticket punched any day. I
knew the current Dead Pool was at Thursday before noon. I’d been beating the Pool for years now and figured I would for many more to come.

Jingling through my head, as it did every morning, were the words Robert Frost etched on my mind years and years ago, ones that echoed my own fatigue and bone-weary sense of resignation:

But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

The promises I’d made and the burden of responsibility I shouldered would keep me going and going like the Energizer Bunny until I figured it was time for me to shuffle off my mortal coil. And then, maybe, I could relax, finally ease into that eternal sleep that wasn’t haunted by what I do, what I’d become, and things I’d left undone. Shaking my head, I stuffed these dark, tired thoughts into the back closet of my mind. I hurt too much and my teeth were far too fuzzy to be in such a mood on a Monday morning after a weekend bender. The Bureau had billions of dollars at their disposal and still hadn’t come up with a cure for a hangover.

The front door threw a pale reflection at me I drew near and I noted that my favorite tie
sported a suspicious reddish-brown stain. I hoped it was only blood, the piano keyboard tie was a gift from Mom on my thirtieth. My mind quickly juked towards the business of surviving the next few moments as I passed through the bullet proofed glass and steel door marked ‘McClennan Statistical Analysis’. Nobody ever wants to go to a place marked Statistical Analysis. For the Bureau, it’s blessed anonymity.

On assignment to cover the wedding of millionaire businessman, Alexander Iannou, Cassie Reynolds doesn’t expect to be accosted by his partner, the enigmatic, and devastatingly attractive, George Constantinou. True she may have gatecrashed, and yes her paper might be a gutter rag, but Cassie won’t let little things like that get in the way of a good scoop. If George thinks he can intimidate her he has another thing coming!

George has no problem removing Cassie from the wedding or making sure she leaves town. If he has to take care of those details personally then so be it. The fiery reporter needs some lessons in manners, and it seems that George is just the man to give them to her...

Cassie Reynolds isn't your typical wedding crasher. She's a top notch reporter working for a notorious mag rag, but that won't stop her from getting the wedding scoop of the year....until the drop dead sexy partner of the groom catches her red handed, canoodling her way in here she doesn't belong. George Constantinou is rich, sexy, and has secrets of his own; but when he meets Cassie the sparks fly and he can't get rid of her fast enough. Will freedom of the press kill their growing attraction for good or will they make breaking news with their passion and get the happy headlines they both desire?

WOW! After reading this book, doesn't every girl want to get her Greek? From the first few pages Cassie and George scorched a passion trail that left me breathless and wanting more! Bravo to Ms. Shortt for giving a brief summary of Greek family culture and closeness that warmed my heart. It was a compatible contrast to our hero who epitomized the Alpha dream man I thought I could find only in a medieval Highlander. I enjoyed the fact that they didn't deny their attraction at the onset and took their feelings to the next level without a lot of "filler" information to clog the flow of the story. They took me with them, making it easy to embrace their strengths and understand their insecurities. That for me is the making of a great book.

I love reading about realistic women who are confident in who they are (and not a size 0), and the gorgeous men who appreciate as well as desire them in kind. This is a fast read with a flawless flow and my heart kept pounding long after I finished. This is a keeper on my shelf and one I will be reading over and over again!

Excerpt

Cassie wrapped her legs around George’s waist and let him carry her to the bed. His cock
throbbed inside her and she groaned. He dropped her onto it and ran his eyes over her sweat dampened body. Lust glinting in their chocolate depths.

She scooted back on the bed and pressed her legs together. Unsure if her body would take another pounding. Would the man ever fucking come? Surely this wasn’t normal? This kind of stamina.

“On your hands and knees,” he demanded.

She eyed the clock on the bedroom wall and gasped. Two hours of filthy sex so far and he still wanted more? “Now.”

Cassie knew better than to argue. Though sore and tired, she knew George was far from
finished with her, or she with him. The body might be flagging but her lust was not. She turned herself around and braced herself against the headboard.

“Lift that ass for me,” he said.

Cassie barely contained a whimper but did as he asked. He ran his hands over her ass cheeks, rough palms squeezing her.

"You’re a bad girl, Cassie,” he said.

The whimper escaped.

“You know what happens to bad girls don’t you?”

She bit down on her lip and nodded, awaiting whatever punishment George planned.  Knowing that she deserved it, that she’d driven him to this point. She’d challenged him, goaded him and excited him. Of course he’d want to punish her and damn, she was all for it. Being taken, properly taken by him was like nothing she’d ever known. He dominated her completely and fucking hell she liked it. Three orgasms in one session was a record and she honestly didn’t know if she’d be able to have another, if her body was even up to it. She had a feeling George was going to try anyway.

He climbed onto the bed and positioned himself behind her. She lifted her ass higher and waited for his cock to fill her. Excitement overcoming the tiredness. When his finger slid, not into, but along the length of her wet pussy, and then into her ass shock filled her, she gasped and made to pull away.

“What the hell are you doing?” she shrieked. No one had ever dared to try that before and she didn’t know what to do. It was wrong, and yet disturbingly exciting.

Fucking hell.

He slapped her lightly on her rump and held her still. “Do you want two inside there? Question me again, Cassie, and that’s what you’ll get.”

Imprisoned by a sadistic tyrant Shandie has all but given up on the idea of escape or rescue. After the epidemic, the only people left alive that she has encountered have been evil. They are the takers. Human beings, without conscience, who take what they need, or what they
want, including women.

Easygoing Vaughn, and his adopted son Nicky, happen upon the trailer where Shandie is being kept. Wanting a woman for themselves, they don’t take their plan of getting her all that seriously until Nicky is critically wounded.

With food running out and no medicine, to Vaughn, the situation doesn’t seem like it could get much worse- except that Shandie keeps insisting that there is something evil in the woods. Vaughn has seen the signs that she’s right, but he refuses to believe it.

When they all come face to face with that evil they find themselves in a sick world where
women are slaves, and the men are something far, far worse…

I reviewed the first book in this series and was beyond disappointed. It was a book I wish I hadn’t bothered to read. Now, why would I read the second? I  had already accepted both in the series and so I was stuck reading both.

Best decision I ever made!

A virus hits, kills most and there are only a few women left on earth. We first meet Vaughn and Nicky. They talk excitedly about seeing a woman for the first time in months. Shandie is in hell with a cruel owner named Toad. Women are nothing but sex slaves and these men want her for themselves. They go to rescue her and a series of events unfold that will keep you glued to the screen, on the edge of seat and biting your nails off. (Yes, I did that.) So our handsome guys start to have feelings toward her, can they actually love her? Shandie is
distrusting and fighting the attraction to Vaughn, from the description I would lose the battle too. That is a yummy man.

As they explore this strange new relationship another twist, there’s something in the woods. Let me tell you, it’s fucking creepy, (Pardon my language) but shit! Ms. Harlow had me sleeping with the lights on. I could hear the horror music in the background as I read toward the morning hours. Then there’s the downed trees and evidence, I could go on but I will not ruin the surprise for you.

When Shandie finally gets sexual with Vaughn I wanted to scream, Hallelujah! The build up and release was so perfectly laid out. When he finally sunk inside her, I literally quivered and clenched my thighs. I became so emotionally invested in these characters the sex was so much deeper. Then there’s Gary, he’s pure evil. When Vaughn faced him, the battle was epic and I cheered him on as I read. His ending was so freakin’ satisfying.

I must add I haven’t read a book with titled chapters in a while. It was an entertaining treat. I’m also sharing my favorite line because it still makes me smile foolishly, ‘It had taken the end of the world to find the one he was supposed to be with.’ Romantic with a capital R.

I can’t believe the difference between book one and two in this series. It’s shocking. With the right plot Ms. Harlow is a genius with the pen and can really knock out a fantastic read. So, stop reading this review. Click the ‘purchase here’ link below and prepare to be swept into a dark world where love is a spark of light that just might save humanity.

Disenchanting a werewolf was easier than travelling home. Having her own personal mount has perks she never considered.

A new Nakedella adventure! This is somewhat of a continuation of the second book in the Nakedella series. Our beautiful and nude main character is riding back to the village from the now un-cursed prince. She’s accompanied by the shape-shifting unicorn, Drygan.

It starts with troll sex. Let me tell you, this was very well written but the images were not sexy at all. If I ever meet a troll, I’ll stay clear of his sexual appetites, that’s for sure. The troll grants her magic vials, which I found to be an interesting if a convenient idea.

On her journey home, she meets a virgin prince frog. He needs instructions of the naughty kind. This scene had my toes curling. Rapunzel makes an appearance but this part felt very rushed and unfinished. It was almost as if she added it for  word count rather than to progress the story and entertain readers. Then there’s Garry, whose mother was a giant and father a dwarf that liked tall women. Can you guess what part of Garry is giant? *Giggles*

Ms. Masters needed more scenery details, more of a solid story to entrance the readers. I definitely recommend Nakedella 1 and 2. If you get a kick out of them then you will probably enjoy the third. This wasn’t as entertaining as the first two in the Nakedella series but it was still a fun, quick read.

Devil pulled the auction card from the envelope and read, “One blowjob in a private room. Condom mandatory. Touching only on my part."

The last person Devil expects to see in a BDSM club is the best friend of his buddy’s new
wife, Jessica Blaine -- the all-American, apple-pie woman he wants so badly it’s her face he's seen every orgasm for the last nine months.

Is she playing? Exploring? Tough; she’s on his turf now, she’s put herself up for auction, and
by God she’s his for the night.

Jess is scared spitless. She’s going to suck off the man who may have killed Aung, the college student she mentors and who vanished three weeks earlier. When the wrong man, a masked stranger, wins the auction, she has no choice but to proceed. Horrified when she not only
responds to the masked stranger, but climaxes, Jess flees.

Devil lets her go fully intending to reel her in. His way.

Dominix Zubiri aka the Devil never expected to see his tormentor at the club, he has thought of no one else but Jessica Blain for months now. He never believed that the innocent Jessica would be apart of his life-style and because of that, he has kept his hands to himself. Now she is in his domain and all is fair. Jessica is under cover to find a murderer, never expecting that she might become the hunted.

There wasn’t much mystery to this read but it was full of suspense. It had me on the edge of my seat but more because I couldn’t get enough of the character connection and who was going to pull what next. Devil is every bit the hot-headed, dominate male. He wants what he wants and he is going to get it but he isn’t selfish, he’ll make sure she enjoys it along the way. All that I can say is that he is the type of leading man that has me salivating. Jessica is
portrayed in the beginning as being the all American, goody-goody woman but as the story develops she is anything but. Though she does have a slight innocents to her, it only makes her all the more attractive, yet she isn't completely innocent and can easly keep up with her sexy counter-part.

The author did an amazing job of hitting the relationship between a Dom and sub on the nail. Just because Jessica is a sub in the bed doesn’t mean she is a sub everywhere else. Just because Devil is a Dom doesn’t mean her happiness isn’t top priority. All together this was a fast, exciting read that kept me held at full attention.

It's been fourteen years since Jordan Powell ended her relationship with Nate Thrillson and she is still not over him. She never expected to see him again.

Nate is hiding a deadly secret and plans to live out the rest of his life alone. When he is
assigned as head investigator to a missing dogs case he doesn't expect to be working so closely with the town veterinarian, Jordan.

As they work together to discover who is kidnapping these dogs, old feelings are brought

Jordan Powell had her revenge and it still haunts her to this day. She thought she had moved on and made peace until she sees Nate Thrillson again. He wants answers to what was done to him and a chance to explain that her revenge was never needed. In the midst of trying to get everything figured out a mystery of missing dogs begins to unfold. Will they ever get the chance to put the past behind them and concentrate on the future.

I’m not always a fan of plots that are about finding love again from a past relationship, however, the author played this pretty well. It never crossed that line of “how in the world could you take that person back”, so as a reader, I felt able to lay back and enjoy.

The first few chapters were a little choppy, with the character connection hard to come by. The details were also a little slow in coming but once we get into the real meat of the story, it began to flow  much more seamlessly with an added plot of animal cruelty that not only educated but pulled at the heart-strings.

I only have one real complaint and that is the characters, they were a study in extremes. It made for some hot bed romp scenes but by the end, I thought I might need to go out and get some bi-polar medication. Nate Thrillson is a typical male in his in ability to communicate which as you can imagine caused no end of problems but add in his extreme ego and you almost have a cave man. Jordon gullibility as a teen had me wanting to scream but at the same time want to cheer for the sheer creativeness and determination. While as an adult she is less naive, she’s only gotten more creative and determined with a bit of an ego herself.

All together this is a really enjoyable book that I had fun reading.

Raine knew she was special enough to be a Volunteer, but mating with a dragon is a whole new kind of special.

Setting up orbital stations was lonely, but not a horrible occupation. Raine has spent years organizing computers and systems to work in harmony, but when she is sent to a spa to wait for her ride, she learns that work is not the only pleasure in life. Orell has waited for her
for centuries and he is not going to let a little thing like a Terran obsession with work get in the way of him claiming his true mate. He will use every amenity at the spa to wear her down and then he will swoop in for the kill, so to speak. What is a little death amongst friends and lovers?

Review

Picture
Picture
I’m a huge fan of Dragons, and Intensity was a blend of science meets myth that I found entertaining. Our heroine Raine has been altered with ports in her head that allow her to talk to the main frame of computer systems. Intelligent, humorous and hard-working, Raine is an easy gal to like.  An Agent of the Alliance, she gave up life on earth years ago to come and work among the stars.  When the battle ship due to pick her up from her work station is
called away for an emergency, she finds herself sent to a local spa for a much needed vacation.

What Raine finds on the planet Yosh is much more than she bargained for. Rest and relaxation turn into steamy nights and adventure when she meets the dragon shifter Orell. Orell is intelligent, attractive, and he can fly. What woman could resist that? Certainly not Raine, who just happens to be his mate. As the two begin to explore their new bond, and begin the mating process unexpected twists and turns keep you guessing.

I enjoyed this read. It was unique, smart, and full of details. I really felt like I was on a different planet with new species. I appreciated the different twists, and turns Ms.Grace provided, but there were times the story felt rushed.  I think a slower pace would have really made this a better story, and I would’ve liked to see the bond between Orell and Raine explored and explained more. Intensity is a great pick if you're in the mood for something short with a but of spice and whimsy.

Phelan D’Shar knew agent Zasha Johnson was his mate the moment she walked into his classroom. At the time, her age and his position as her professor kept him from acting on his desires.

When the biological mating period known as The Wanting hits, it ignites a passion that neither can resist. Will the icy Zasha run from her feelings or embrace the man who melts her heart?

Review

Picture
Picture
Shyla Colt hits the passion nail on the head with a novella of racial boundaries that prove love conquers all and "little green men" are really gorgeous Alpha males that know how to claim their mate.

The first thing I noticed was the editing problem. It really needs to be fixed but as I read more the story overpowered. Those who are strict with the editing might have a problem with this book.

The sexual tension between Zasha and Phelan was so palpable my heart rate skyrocketed through most of the book. Zasha proved to be strong , and stood by her beliefs even when temptation threatened to compromise her at every turn.  I found Phelan to have a big heart for his people and willing to be fair in his feelings for earthlings regardless of the restrictions placed on him as an Alien. They were passionate, caring, and honest with their feelings for each other. Being able to picture these two like a sci-fi movie in my mind is a victory for the author.

I enjoyed this fast read as I couldn't put The Wanting down. The secondary characters were set up with enough content to build the sequels and I liked them immediately. This was fun, exhilarating, and successfully checked the boxes I look for in a “keeper”of a book. Bravo! I look forward to the next books in this series.

Excerpt

Phelan bent to take her lips with his own. The sweet flavor of peaches danced along his
tongue as her nails scrapped his scalp. Her full lips were pillow soft against the gentle nips she administered turned aggressive as they moved from his mouth to his neck and back again. Tiny white teeth marked their territory, and he loved every moment. Zasha’s urgency was a delicious torture that overrode rational thought as he lowered her body down to the soft blanket below. Under the concealment of night they were nothing more than two lovers ensnared by the romance found in the classical chords.

“God, Phelan, I’ve missed this. I’m so cold when you’re not around.”

“Then let me warm you,” he whispered into her ear.

His tongue traced the delicate shell of her ear before he indulged in the column of her neck. Zasha’s content sighs and the feel of her nails on his back beneath his shirt spurred him on. His hips ground into hers, the hardness between them unmistakable.

“Phelan,” she moaned. Her long legs spread as wide as she could manage in the pencil skirt
fit of her dress.

“Shh, you have to be quiet.”

The corners of his mouth twitched upward at her hushed protest when he rolled off her and propped himself up onto an elbow. His lips dipped to cover hers once more as he eased up her skirt. His hand skimmed beneath the crisp cotton of her dress and ran along the damp cloth barrier. Her cream had soaked through her panties and rolled down her thighs.

“I love how wet you get for me, Zash.”

“Phe.” The sound of his name shortened on her lips made his cock twitch. The unconscious familiarization made him growl. A flick of his wrist popped the elastic band off the cloth that barred his entrance. Thick digits drove inside her flooded tunnel. Her slick walls tight around his fingers as she rocked her hips.

“That’s right, Zash, take me inside you.”

Her vagina fluttered in response. She liked it when he told her what to do. When he took the control from her and pushed her boundaries. He added another finger and titled his thrust to hit the sweet spot inside her.

“Come all over my fingers, baby.”

He took her cries into his mouth as she convulsed, her pussy a vise grip around him as her cream overflowed. Phelan removed his hands and smoothed her skirt back down before he sucked his fingers into his mouth. The salty sweet flavor a tangy taste he relished as she slowly came back to Earth.

“Is that better, Zash?” he asked, voice strained as he adjusted his painful hard-on.

“Yes.”

Zasha voice had gone soft, and he could feel her mental retreat. He hooked an arm around her waist and eased her to set beside him as he tucked her beneath his shoulder. Damned if he’d let her run again so soon.

“W-what are you doing?”

“Giving you more relief.”

“Phelan—”

“No.”

“No?”

“Call me what you did before.”

“Phe?”

“Yes.” He breathed. “Why do you fight this, Zasha?”
