A dolphin shifter is given charged with taking a selkie family from Australia to Ireland but he doesn’t expect to find love along the way.

This story has an interesting premise which captured my interest early on but the story itself did begin to slow just a little for me. Galadir is an agent of an organization called The Shallows. They seem to be all about protecting the environment and shifters. Galadir is charged with taking a Selkie family from Australia to Ireland but rather than going by boat they are swimming there. Galadir is uneasy about this job because one of the Selkies is a baby, a rare white pup. Along the way, the pup becomes ill and Galadir has to go ashore for help. He’s pretty much a one trick guy. He knows how to protect from threats but he doesn’t know how to heal or anything like that, so he needs to get help. This is where the story takes a slow turn for me. All the different things he goes through to get the help took me a little out of the story. I would have liked more information on Greg and the Depths and what Greg and those other sharks are doing out in the ocean.

This is an enjoyable story, but it left me wanting more, hence my rating of three. Still, I recommend it to those who enjoy shifter stories because this is a good addition to genre.

When Tim finds out Colin is a werewolf he bolts…right into the hands of hunters. Now Colin has to save Tim before that love is ripped from this world.

Tim’s reaction to Colin’s big secret is so honest that I instantly liked him. Seriously, he sees a man turn into a wolf and freaks the hell out. Colin is afraid of how his mate will act when he finds out the truth about what he is and for good reason. When Tim is taken a rage settles over Colin that will make the hair on your neck stand up. This short but intense story is all about going through any obstacle to get to his one and only mate. If you like mates, you’re going to love this story. However, the plot is complete unoriginal. There’s no world building, no unique story to draw a reader in. It’s sort of a romance that happens to involve werewolves. I’ve read a thousand of them, some good, some bad. Forever with my Werewolf has sexy, well rounded characters and good action. If you’re just starting out in the werewolf/shifter genre than I’d recommend this book.

A walk leads to being chased by a giant wolf and meeting the wolfs brother Gibson. All their lives will be change but will it be for the better?

Gibson is taking care of his brother who’s mental damaged and stuck in wolf form. His love for his brother is both heartwarming and tender. I love the relationship these two have, as strained and complicated as it is. When Gibson saves Zach it’s like both men have seen the light. The possibilities are limitless if they can just get past the whole werewolf thing. I really like their romance but I wish there was more of it. The focus of most of the book seemed to be Gibson’s brother Ellis. My main issue is that there’s nothing different about this wolf world. It could be another story in a million different shifter books which is a shame because I really like the characters.

If you are a hardcore shifter fan you’ll probably love Once Upon a Wolf!

This is a series of stand alone stories sharing a connection with the soul mate tree. In the first book, Realm of the Dragon, Lily is running for her life from a guy who just won’t get a clue that she’s not interested in him. She stumbles upon a hill that leads to a fatal drop and lands on the back of a dragon, Kord.

The book drops us right off in the action. We learn quickly that Lily is being chased by Zane, a guy that won’t take no for an answer. As she’s trying to escape she finds herself falling right onto the back of a dragon. I found the whole world really interesting. I’m a big fan of fantasy and dragons. I do think Lily accepts this dragon realm quickly and she trusted Kord almost immediately after meeting him. That didn’t sit well with me so it starts their romance on a shaky leg. Tasha, Kord’s former lover is also a bit one note. I wish she had more depth and personality. The same with Zane, I wish he came across as more complicated rather than the typical cardboard bad guy. I do love Kord’s parents. The story has great twists, well done! The action keeps me on the edge of my seat and the romance is sweet bordering on sexy.

If you like tales of dragons and their mates than you should read Realm of the Dragon!

Okay, I’m starting this review off with the bad. They killed animals. I hate that in books. I’d normally DNF the whole series but I really like Elena so I kept reading and skipped those bits. The info dumps. Holy crap! There are pages and pages and pages of info dumps. This is an older book so I gave it a bit of leeway with that. But I like Clay and Nick too. I am kind of hoping the three of them have something going. So, I kept reading. There’s also cheating which is also another big no for me…I kept reading. The author manages to grab me and pull me in despite all these issues. She has some serious talent. I love the relationships in the pack. Jeremy, their leader, Clay who’s more animal than human and Nick who is all about the flirting. They all had a rough childhood but came together to survive.

The mystery aspect is well done. Who’s killing all these humans? Why are mutts suddenly banding together? I truly enjoy the suspense and the action is fantastic. I’ve already ordered the second book! Then I found out there’s a tv series based on this. That is definitely on my list to watch!

Let me just start by saying, if you love Alpha’s that clash this is going to be a must read for you. I love the fight going on between Lee and Alkaline. Each man is a dominant, each one refusing to give in. That makes for an intense story. But as relationships go, it’s give and take. Reading how Lee and Alkaline had to compromise pulled my heart strings. When they do get together it’s like fireworks and flames. It’s fabulous, sexy and has that toe curling quality.

Love shifters? You should not pass up Alpha’s Alpha!

April had a hard childhood but it got better once she is adopted by a lovely family who just happen to introduce her to shifters. She meets Jason when he rescues her from a sleazy guy in a bar and then she meets Donovan, the sparks fly. But with mates, comes enemies.

This is a good shifter story. I like April, Jason and Donovan but their romance is so quick. They meet and suddenly she’s asking Jason out. Really? That quickly? No exchanging numbers or anything? He could be a serial killer shifter or something equally as terrifying. Yes, she knows about wolf shifters from her adopted family but accepting that she’s mate to two guys that swiftly is completely unbelievable. I didn’t feel that connection between then through most of the story. The plot took a cool turn with Fae’s and Trolls. The action is really entertaining and the ending beautiful!

Deciding Her Faete is a good read about sexy shifters.

Tattoo artist and dragon shifter Duncan Strannach faces problem when he scents his very human mate. Kerry Jo Watson cannot understand the insane attraction she feels to this dominant man. She came here to get a tattoo checked, not have these feelings for the artist—or get a job as his receptionist. She’s determined to not get involved with the boss. Duncan needs Kerry’s submission of her own free will, and it kills him to keep his distance. The revelation of “I turn into a fire-breathing dragon” tends to wreak havoc on a relationship. In the end, it’s all rather simple. They’re dragon mates, and when Kerry accepts the dominance of her Sir, magic happens.

Duncan, a tattoo artist and dragon shifter has all but given up on his mate coming to him. He is shocked to find his mate and that she is human. From the start I loved Kerry Jo and Duncan together. It is amazing how fate finally brings them together. Their story is fast past, but I like that it isn't prolonged with the dating or miscommunication. I find the way the author wrote this as exiting and sexy. Duncan and Kerry Jo's love of BDSM brings that extra heat to their relationship! I also think the secondary characters to be exciting and interesting. Dragon shifters are not as common as other shifters and I loved the way they are portrayed in this story! I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.

If you love shifters, you have to read Marked by the Dragon!

Then he finds her and her new pack alpha, Henry. The fight is on. Ward may be no match for a vicious werewolf but he’d give his life to get his little girl back.

Wow! Finally, finally!!! A shifter book that sounds unique. I love shifters but there are so many of the same stories out there that I’ve been skipping a lot of them. Then, I read the blurb for Off the Beaten Path and I scoop this book up as fast as I can. Instantly, I love Ward. He is a good father that loves his kid and will go through extreme lengths to get her back. When he finally finds her, I wanted to squeal I was so excited. And then comes Henry who isn’t the nasty alpha that is expected. I like his personality and the way he handles both Ava and Ward. The romance is beautiful. The plot is unique.

Why, you’re probably asking yourself, only give this book 3 stars if you love it so much? THE POINT OF VIEW! Tell me it isn’t so? Yeah, yeah, it is. The author wrote both main characters in first point of view. So confusing and downright frustrating. It kept throwing me right out of the story. If this had been done in third person it would have been absolute a 5 star review, maybe even a reread for me. As is, it’s a three star rating but I will definitely be checking out more books from this author.

The romance is good but because of the mate thing it doesn’t really invoke those edge of your seat moments. I really liked the author’s writing style. I look forward to reading more from Bronwyn Heeley.
