REVIEW: Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh
This book is really two romances in one. Hawke and Sienna. There’s also the tangled tale of Lara and Walker. As these four are trying to find their way to each other the Psy are getting bolder. The biggest attack is in on the verge of happening. Hawke has to decide if he wants to open up and let Sienna in…
There were a lot of scene changes in here with a lot of characters so that is kind of jumpy. However, I love this story! The push and pull between Hawke and Sienna is intoxicating. Their romance is a beautiful dance as the action builds up to a big fight between Psy and Changeling. Lara and Walker’s romance is sweet but I’m not as enamored of them as I am with Sienna and Hawke. I’ve already ordered the next three books in this series. If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend you start at book one. It’s a long story but each book has its own amazing tale.
REVIEW: To Touch You by Cardeno C.
Salvatore is a vampire. Yoram is an alpha trying to save his pack. They’re mates but much stands between them before they can find their happy ending...
Salvatore meets his mate when he’s 7 ...…yes, that’s 7 years old. Um,…kind of gross but okay. He’s terminally ill and the only way to save him is to turn him into a vampire. This results in Salvatore becoming lonely and kind of self-absorbed. His character does grow throughout the story so don’t be too hung up on that. Once the two men accept each other there’s a lot of sexiness and it’s kind of a quick personality change. I like Yoram so much! He’s just trying to keep his pack together and get his mate to realize he loves him. It’s sweet. Other than the unbalanced pace this is a great shifter read! Toby is a sarcastic character that I really enjoyed.
If you love stories about mates falling for each other through hard times, I highly recommend To Touch You!
Moira is in serious trouble! Her apartment is ransacked, her bank hacked, and she’s being stalked. When she runs, it is for her life and she knows of only one man who can keep her safe. Neil is her father’s friend and he has his own issues, the main one being that he’s a dragon shifter...
I really like this book. I’m up to my neck in shifter stories but with the romantic suspense added to this book I think it really worked out. Moira (love that name!) had a hard past with a criminal father but I like how she’s not the complete damsel in distress. Neil is a sexy, older dragon shifter who finds that Moira is no longer the little girl he remembers. Their romance is splintered with great action which kept me turning the pages.
The romance is sexy and the plot is a page turner, Her Dangerous Mistake is a highly recommended read!
Yes, you read that right. The Dick Defender. I feel the need to stand up straight and plant my hands on my hips every time I see the title, like some erotic announcer. Love it! The cover’s pretty hot too but I’m here to talk about the actual book...
Hel is part of the Outlaw mc of Mars (that’s right the planet mars!). He has various bodyguards because his father is the president but Hel only uses them for sex. When assassins come to collect him, he has to rely on the sexy bodyguard Sin, who refuses his advances. Oh yeah, there’s also the storm of the century about to hit!
Wow. This book is amazing! From the beginning, I was pulled in. I’ve been waiting for the ‘big storm’ about to hit the city of mars. Hel is hard to love in the beginning but quickly I softened toward him. He’s spoiled, yes but he’s also hasn’t had much chance to grow because of his overprotective fathers. Sin, oh my God, Sin! His past is heartbreaking, just freaking heartbreaking. I liked him to beginning with. He is sarcastic but quiet and he refuses to be another notch on Hel’s belt. When the storm hits I literally bit my nails. It is so beautiful and scary. The details are crazy good but not too much where it bogs the story down.
Their romance is a sweet one but seriously *fans self* sexy *ice water*. You can read this book without reading the previous but once you read this you’ll want to read them all. There’s only one book left (according to the authors FB profile). I can’t wait to read it!

At age 21, discovering you're not quite human has got to be a shock; but for aspiring med student Kennedy Cole, finding her shifter persona is a welcome release from the pain and unease she's been feeling for years. Cottage Country turns Cougar Country when a much-needed vacation with her adoptive family brings her face to face with her destined mate and unleashes the feline beast within her.
Intentionally short, and as book 1 of a series, this story can only 'scratch' the surface the Cougar's journey and its characters. I thought it an interesting departure from the wolf/panther/bear (good grief - bears? have you ever smelled a bear?) shifter theme and the setting in Northern Ontario intrigued me. However, some shaky editing that left a number of typos, homophones (peeked, not peaked) and inappropriate adjectives (I'm still wondering how you can have 'satiated' eyelids) left me 'shaking' my head.
On the positive side, the descriptions of our heroine Kennedy's change, both physical and mental, are quite vivid and detailed, giving a sense what it might really be like to endure such a transformation. Meanwhile, Trace (he never gets a last name), her cougar mate, seems totally hot and delicious, but has basically been hiding in the woods and shunning human contact for most of his adult life and seems to prefer being a Cougar (Really?) until he meets Kennedy. Even then he appears to only want to put up with his human mate long enough to get her comfortable turning into a cat. Ah well - both species are Apex predators; not so bad.
That said, the human sex scenes are hot and primal -- who doesn't fantasize about doing it out in the woods? For shifter fans, this series has some good potential going forward, as Kennedy and Trace embark on a journey to seek healing, peace, and loved ones lost.
Twice a year William goes down to Florida and charter’s Mikes fishing boat for some relaxation. Sure, there’s a spark between them but William’s not looking for a fling. Then they get caught in a hurricane and it changes both men’s lives forever.
This is a wild, windy ride that I absolutely fell in love with, both the plot and the characters! William doesn’t want a vacation lover only to go back to his lonely house. I feel for him and was rooting for him from the beginning. Mike is only trying to keep things afloat for his daughter and mother. He’s a good guy who is fighting his attraction to a good customer. The hurricane is crazy. The details really show how dangerous it is for these men and I definitely couldn’t stop reading. Once the storm is over, their romance is in question. I love how organic and real this all feels.
Setting The Hook is a must read!
REVIEW: Sand Trap by L.M. Somerton
Who doesn’t love the whole MC Romance craze going on? I know I do. Sexy bikers and hardcore sex with some intense action. I love to watch it on TV and read it. This book has to do with the Wyvern MC. Crow is a dom and he’s not sure the baby faced Shelton can handle his sexual demands. When a mass grave is uncovered, Shelton is kidnapped and Crow must use all his skills to save the man he loves.
Oh my God! What a story. Seriously, it has everything you need! Sexy men, mystery, action, sex. I am absolutely blown away by the plot because that alone kept me glued to this book. Then add in Crow, a sexy badboy that likes BDSM. *Fans self* Shelton is absolutely adorable and several times I wanted to reach into the story and squeeze him tight.
If you like your bikers sexy and plots filled to the brim with intrigue, give Sand Trap a try!
REVIEW: Linchpin by Jodi Payne
What happens when a mob cleaner, Quinn, goes to do his job and the dead body isn’t so dead? But this prisoner soon turns into his lover...
I’m not super crazy about mob stories. I’m always rooting for the good guys so a mob cleaner isn’t exactly someone I would normally enjoy. I found Quinn handsome and as the story plays out on the pages, redeemed. Quinn and Tony’s captive to lover’s romance happened quickly. I didn’t feel the full zing between them. The action is intense and I like how Quinn has to decide if he should save his own skin or risk it for Tony.
Linchpin is a quick read that kept me turning the pages, highly recommended.
Mikaylah and her only daughter Autumn have been on their own a long time. When Autumn goes off to college, Kaylah decides to sell the house and follow along. When the closing of the house overlaps, Kaylah has to stay behind, while Autumn goes on her own to orientation. From that moment, Kaylah's new beginnings turn into an utter nightmare. Jerusalem, a former serviceman pulls up to the old- Cleary house all he can see is dollar signs for him and his crew. When he meets Kaylah, he is instantly attracted. However, there is something strange going on in this old house and it has nothing to do with remodeling. The house is affecting Kaylah's mind and he fears he will lose the battle.
From the start, I was intrigued with Kaylah and her old house. The idea of the paranormal good or bad makes the story thrilling. Salem and Kaylah are both survivors and I appreciate how well they are suited for one another. Then comes the shocking truth that Salem uncovers and I was flabbergasted, did not expect the turn in this story. I love it!
Autumn's Healing is a highly recommended read!
REVIEW: Rako's Treasure by J.J. Lore
Alien meets mate.
Alien loses mate.
Alien gets mate.
A time-honored formula that just doesn't get old.
When interstellar salvage hunter Rako encounters a crashed ship in a deserted sector, the spoils within had better be worth his trouble. But inside the ancient wreck is a treasure he never intended to find--a cryogenically preserved sleeping beauty that awakens his species' mating call. Protocol requires that Alyce be taken to the nearest government installation to claim refugee status, but the hulky scavenger isn't willing to give her up that easily, especially when the descendants of her kidnappers turn up to reclaim their prize.
Rako's a skin-turner, a shape-changing alien considered an 'undesirable' in commercial circles. Alyce is a humanoid empath, stolen from her people more than a century earlier. They're strangely drawn to each other, and the ways this unlikely pair get acquainted during a long space flight is touching, sexy, and hilarious all at the same time. Alien, schmalien; when it comes to love they are fully compatible in every way that counts!
This story has a bit of a slow start, with a lot of detail about Rako's tools and instruments that this reader could do without. The interesting characters, especially Rako's diminutive and long-suffering servant/sidekick Boz --"Your copulatory vocalizations were quite unusual!"-- quickly liven things up. Rako's blithe description of government, "Elected representatives from all races, excessive data collection, high taxes, corruption, spotty public safety, the usual thing," was a golden moment of witty dialogue (my favorite)! Alyce is a sweet, independent heroine who isn't afraid of anything, making the best of a bad situation and taking things in stride.
Though I would have liked the story to be a bit longer, Rakos Treasure is a quick, classic Beauty and the beast style story that's always a treasure to read, no matter which part of the universe you find it in.
