If you like contemporary office romance, you’re going to love this series!

The author paints the corporate world beautifully and yet, intriguingly. Rika is a woman between a rock and a hard place. She’s falling for Nobuki, her boss, but there is so much that stands in the way of their happiness. Nobuki draws the very edge of being a jerk and sometimes he tips a bit over. He’s so cold at work and so hot between the sheets. Nobuki does thaw out at the end. I’m happy for Rika that she finally got what she wanted in life. His Until Dawn is another fabulous romance in an office setting.

However, he does not expect to encounter Ben's lovely date for the evening ... Sophia and Eitan meet in the most interesting way. Eitan is looking for a killer and information. He stumbles upon Sophia while searching for Donovan. When Sophia goes to check on her date, she finds Eitan pretending to be his roommate. Thinking Sophia may know something he takes her with him to pump her for information. Neither of them could predict what happens next.

That cover is gorgeous! I really think the story is exciting. I love that Eitan is a hard and tough man, yet he shows a softer side saving helpless young woman while on the job. Sophia is shy and innocent. These two are the complete opposites, but they bring out each other’s strengths. I love the build up with Donovan and the “situation” they are in makes for one edge of your seat kind of story.

The romance is hot. The plot is fabulous. I have to give Dark Remdemption by Sarah Marsh five stars!

Then her aunt lets her in on a big family secret. Alex is an immortal element. Collum is her guardian dragon. Yeah, that’s right dragon! (*giddy excitement*) He’s going to train her to use her Fire abilities. But a fight is coming that may be more than either of them can win.

The world building in this story is fabulous! I love the complexity and details. Alex has to learn about this world and train for a big fight but she’s having trouble concentrating with the sexy Collum so close. And sexy is the best word to describe this dragon. Their romance at the beginning is too quick. I didn’t feel that connection because they didn’t really know each other. I wish the author gave that a bit more time to develop like the world building. The action is really great and I love the plot. I’m excited to read more stories in this world.

Laura is supposed to come home from college and move in with her old friend. However, her friend has moved out and now she’s stuck sharing the apartment with said friend’s ex-boyfriend. Talk about awkward, but a heat grows between them. Soon they start seeing spirits roaming the graves. Can Laura and Miller discover the truth to help the spirit find peace?

This story brings two flawed, lonely people together in a paranormal setting. I really like how the plot plays out. Laura and Miller are fabulous characters! They have a deep and complicated connection as the story moves on. I found myself intrigued by their romance and the chemistry between them. The paranormal elements are delicately entwined into their romance and I found it compelling. My only issue is the pace. Some scenes are so slow. I mean, seriously slow. I just want to cut out all the unneeded sentences and get down to the good stuff.

Laura and Miller has a beautiful romance in Spirits of the Heart with great paranormal twists. I highly recommend this book!

Andrea is an author at a meet and greet. She’s just met her hunky cover model, Yushka, in a very sexual situation with another woman. Talk about awkward but this is the man Andrea has been dreaming about. Can she deal with his troubled personality or should she move on?

Andrea is adorable! The elevator scene made me laugh. She’s awkward around Yushka and she’s telling herself not to be. It’s totally something I would do which is why I found her so endearing. Yushka is, well, I didn’t like him at first. He’s touching another woman and then he’s making out with Andrea. When she tells him to stop, he stops but he gets angry about it. That would send up warning flags if I’d been with the guy. He’s got a nasty attitude that doesn’t make up for his hot body. Eventually, he opens up and we really get to see what makes Yushka the man he is. I love how they get to know each other and the slow build to the sex is fabulous! There’s a twist that is devilishly great and an ending that is super sweet.

Eve isn’t just kidnapped by alien slavers, she’s also left to die on an abandoned ship! Kai, Roan and Kham are her alien rescuers, kind of. They feel a connection with Eve and make her their bride but danger moves closer. Can they explore the feelings between them or will trouble destroy everything?

The beginning makes me dislike Eve. I mean, the whole letting a stranger drive you home thing? Especially, in a present or futuristic setting, it’s kind of hard to believe anybody would be dumb enough to do that. The sexy alien men are great. They have dominant, drool worthy bodies and deep personalities. I love how Eve gets tough on them when she wakes up married. She accepts this mating thing so fast. I know it’s an alien world but still. Yes, all three guys are hot but getting her drunk and then touching her just isn’t working for me. The whole man on man plus man and Eva is ridiculously sexy!

The chapters are really short though, just when I am getting into a scene it's over. I really did like the plot of the story. Eva being kidnapped and then abandoned. The action is really great!

Eve’s Surrender is a good read and I look forward to reading more books in this world.

What a unique, cool and terrifying idea. Carlie can look into the eyes of murder victims and see the murderer. So, what’s a strange girl to do? Simple, avoid dead bodies. Problem solved. But a cheerleader is murder and it looks like the killer will go free if Carlie doesn’t use her gift to help. With the help of her boyfriend Dillion, they search and he’s injured. She’s horrified of losing him so she vows never to help again, until the next victim turns out to be her friend.

Love, love, love the plot! It’s a young adult, mystery, paranormal gem. Carlie is a great character. She’s not your average teenager but she sure as hell is trying to be. I like how she feels this sense of right and wrong. As scared as she is, she gathers up enough courage to face this killer with horrible results. As the plot twists and turns the danger gets more intense. This is definitely an edge of your seat story. I could not stop reading. The romance between Dillion and Carlie is adorable! It’s flirty but doesn’t jump into the inappropriate column like many YA novels these days. I fell in love with these characters so when the ending came it is both amazing and bittersweet. I didn’t want this story to end. This is my first book by this author and sure as hell, not my last!

See is a must read, edge of your seat book!

Cody rose from his horrible childhood to become a rich and well-adjusted man, kind of. Ben isn’t being honest when he goes to work for Cody and how that unravels is interesting. Both men try to keep things professional but it’s clear the heat between them isn’t going away. Each man did things they regret and I like how they tried to work through that. Although the romance is too quick for my taste, they did heat up the pages. Editing could have been gone over again, it is rough in many places. This story has great potential with flawed characters I wanted to see redeem themselves.

If you like office romances than Scoring The Boss is a highly recommended read!

My sister in law is a huge fan of this author. As a gift she gave me this book, A Court of Thorns and Roses. I love the cover. I love the genre. So, why not give it a try? I am so freaking glad she gave this book to me. It’s an amazing twist on Beauty and the Beast. One that’s unique and filled with stunning settings.

Feyre is only nineteen but her family survival rests on her shoulders. Her father is broke and cripple. Her sisters are useless or too young and her mother passed away after begging Feyre to take care of them. Now she hunts in the forest for their food and counts the days before they starve. After she kills a wolf in the forest, a giant shape shifting fairy breaks in their door and demands to know who killed his friend. Tamlin gives her a choice, live with him forever or die. Some choice huh? So, she leaves her family after he promises not to let them starve and crosses the giant wall into the fairy realm. But not all is as it seems. There’s a plague upon this world, one that threatens to spill into the human world and that plague’s name is Amarantha.

I do want to point out first that I did skip the first chapter and some of the second. I don’t care to read about her hunting but rather than skip the book, I told my sister in law I’d give it a try, I skipped those parts. I’m totally giddy and excited. This book is fabulous and beautiful and dark and twisted. Yes, I know that a run-on sentence. No, I don’t care. I love this book so hard. The world building is perfect. It’s just enough to be different but no so complicated that I got confused. Fairies live on one side of the wall, humans on the other. The fairy realm is a lot more intricate and I found it fascinating how the author set that all up. Feyre, LOVE her! She tough. She does what she had to do to stay alive and keep her family alive. She’s not a bad a$$ but she’s not some whiny girl either. The more I read, the more I was immersed in this world. Tamlin is very standoffish in the beginning and as I read he unfurled like a gorgeous flower. There are even some steamy bits in here that I think are really tastefully done! And that ending *mouth drops open* Wow.

Action? Hell, yes!
Romance? Yes! Adorable!
World building? Perfect! Fairies and shape shifters!

I’ve already ordered the next book in the series and I’m eagerly awaiting it or rather impatiently awaiting it. So, to sum this review up. GO BUY A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES! It’s a must read.

REVIEW: Torn Avenger by Lea Bronsen

Before I start this review, I’d like to take a moment and drool over that cover. Wow!

A Viking who never expected to inherit the throne is suddenly thrust upon that important seat and tasked with revenge on his murdered kin. But revenge is cold when the man is one that calls to a Vikings heart.

Alv, our sexy Viking, is hunting the man that murdered is brother but as it turns out his brother is a rapist and that man is just trying to avenger his sister. Roeland is an unexpected hero but both he and Alv felt like they belonged in the contemporary genre rather than historical. Alv is a Viking healer but he sounds less like a Viking and more like a different era. Maybe 1800’s or the 1900’s. A lot of the secondary characters also didn’t fit the Viking theme in both dialogue and the way they acted. This would have worked beautiful in a fantasy setting or even adjusted to fit the early 1800’s/1900’s. The story is still very entertaining. I like the push and pull between Alv and Roeland. The sex is hot and romantic. Overall, Torn Avenger is a good read with an interesting plot.
