When I began reading Incorporeal, I was not sure if I would finish the book.  As I delved further into the story, I became intrigued with the characters of Sara and Nathan. Their story was a bit strange; one would think that a person would be crazy to believe someone that could “see” and “speak” to a ghost, not to mention actually have an affair with one. Sara is a strong character that showed her wisdom and strength as she told her story of love found and love lost. I can't say much about Nathan, because he was not a typical hero. He was very caring and showed his strength when needed.

Sara and Nathan’s story was full of drama, love, lust, and questions. Neither Sara, nor Nathan knows the real reason he was brought back from the dead. All Nathan knew was that he was there to protect Sara from something bad. Once I got over the “strange” factor, I was rooting for Sara and Nathan’s love to conquer all.

Without giving too much away of this story away I will say there was a twist that brought tears to my eyes but I was extremely happy with the way it ended….

Love does conquer all… in life and in death.

Harry Blackwood has a rule never to sleep with a woman younger than thirty.  But he’s also never been to a ball uninvited, stripped naked over tea in a quiet parlor, stepped inside a male bordello, been spanked by anyone other than his father, or become emotionally involved in another person’s life.   And within a few hours, all that will change.

Christina Deveraux is nineteen, untamable as a hellcat and determined to enjoy Harry Blackwood’s abundant favors the moment he drops his trousers in her front parlor.  As for his silly rules— she’s never met a rule she couldn’t break.  After all, it is only sex, it’s her trade now she’s been left to manage her mother’s house of sin, and she has enough theory advice from a set of explicit diaries.

Now she wants to put text into practice.  And Harry just happens to be the perfect study mate.

This is the third installment in ‘A Private Collection’. The first two were absolutely fantastic. Engraved (1st) being book of the month here at The TBR Pile.  I am exuberant to open the file and see if Enraptured holds up to the first two...

We are introduced to Christina, a name I’m not found of, but her character instantly stands out. She a virgin who inherited her mother’s bordello. Now doesn’t that sound like a fun read? Hell yes. Then she saves Harry who has the painting of her naked mother from a loud mouth woman trying to set him up with her sister. It’s a wonderfully written, witty scene.  This of course, leds to a wicked adventure sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Let me tell you, that first sex scene was so intense and romantic I’m surprised the computer didn’t start smoking! She has a way of writing an erotic scene with such elegance. It’s a wonderful treat.

The story itself was a tad choppy. She jumped from Christina to Harry’s pov very quickly instead of a subtle switch. That wouldn’t hurt the rating as the story overpowered. The only reason it’s not getting a gleaming 5 stars is the ending. I won’t ruin it for you, but let’s just say Christina gives up something important for Harry. Something that she swore to never give up because it was her mothers. That pissed me off. She gave ‘it’ up just because he wanted her to move with him. I don’t think so.

Despite that, this is still a fantastic book and I highly recommend this romantic tale to any historical book lover!

“If you’re interested in staying here, you’d better let me see what you have to offer,” she added, picking up her teacup, arching her little finger and sipping delicately. “I never take on a new boarder without a thorough inspection. One can’t be too careful.”

Was the little brat toying with him now? He could have sworn her black gown was buttoned up right to her throat before, yet somehow there was more flesh visible suddenly. She sat forward on the edge of her chair, and her dark shape was exaggerated against the paler colors of the upholstery. Her waist was narrow, her bosom a promising swell above the strict lines of her corset, although not disproportionate with the rest of her. Her long, slender hands were always busy, even when the rest of her was rigidly still. Now they held her teacup, rubbing the china, tapping it lightly. She looked down at her tea, but he caught the sparks of amusement under her pale gold lashes, the smug twist of her lips.

He sat back in the chair. “At your age, you don’t even know what you’re looking for in a man.”

Her eyelashes swung up; her eyes sparked. “I know what appeals to my clientele, and that’s what’s important.”

Young chit. How could she know? He supposed it was possible, even at her age, but the reasons why and how she came to have that knowledge only angered him, so he bit it back down and smothered it.

“Well,” she said, balancing her teacup and saucer in her lap. “Are you going to drop your drawers or have you lost your gumption?”

It would serve her right, he mused, if he did strip off and show her. That would give her a shock. Or perhaps not. Her expression was world weary now and he couldn’t tell if it was exaggerated merely for his benefit.

“I thought you said I was too old,” he replied finally, hands gripping the arms of the chair.

She gave a half shrug. “I suppose some of my clients might like an older man.” Her tongue darted out, sweeping across her lower lip. “There are some with peculiar preferences. I don’t judge. Let me see what you have to offer, and I’ll decide if you fit our high standard.”

He’d been in this world a hell of a lot longer than she, and he knew this girl thought she was teasing him. But he was drawn in, fascinated by her lusciously curved and blooming rose-pink lips.

He pictured them making a damp trail down his chest, over his taut belly, and down to his--

Don’t think about that.

Too late. Damn.

“What sort of peculiar preferences?” he growled.

She smiled coolly. “I don’t gossip.” Leaning forward, she set her tea cup on the tray. Her eyes were shrewd and quick, her smile carefully measured, but apparently he’d annoyed her. He saw the anger trying to hide behind the forget-me-not blue of her wide eyes.

He scratched his rough stubble and observed her for a moment. Miss Christina Deveraux was more trouble than he needed. He shouldn’t be admiring her figure, her lips, or her elegant hands. He should be on his way to the train station, putting her out of his mind.

“Well, Mr. Blackwood. What are you waiting for?”

Evidently, she thought she could handle him. How long had she been in this business? And why hadn’t anyone taken her out of it by now? She ought to be rescued, whether she thought she needed it or not.

“You won’t get carried away and try to touch me or anything?”

Her right eyebrow lifted. “I’m sure I’ll control myself. Old man.”

“I hope so. Most women can’t in my presence.” He treated her to a grin that didn’t earn him any more than a slight sigh of impatience.

Fine. She’d asked for it.

Standing swiftly, he began to remove his waistcoat and then his shirt, dropping each to the chair he’d vacated. “How many men have disrobed for you in this room?”

“Too many to count.” She sat very straight, hands in her lap, eyes on his chest.

“And you don’t hire them all?”

“I’m very selective.”

He waited, hands on his hips.

“Trousers too,” she instructed softly. “I must see the tools of your trade, if you mean to work for me.”

He glowered at her, but she didn’t flinch. Cool as a cucumber.

“Show me, Mr. Blackwood.”

“I’d rather not,” he muttered, thinking he’d gone far enough. Any further would be dangerous for them both.

“Why? Something to hide?”

He knew he wasn’t hiding anything at all. His erection was visible through his breeches, and she had her eyes on it, boldly assessing the rigid outline. Harry had never undressed for a woman before. It was usually the other way around, but then there was a great deal about this encounter that was different. And even though his mind doubted, his body seemed to like her bossy commands.

“This is no time for timidity, Mr. Blackwood,” she added, lashes fluttering as her gaze lifted slowly upward. “Trousers down.” There was an edge to her voice now, as if she was accustomed to giving orders and being obeyed.

“What if your housekeeper comes in?”

“I can assure you, she’s seen it all before.”

“Not mine she hasn’t.”

“Oh, is there something peculiar about it then? Something extraordinary? Mr. Blackwood, the anticipation is killing me.”

The woman was asking for trouble.

Thirteen years ago, Lyric Benson's boyfriend accused her of sleeping with his older brother then disappeared. She never stopped caring, never stopped hoping. When we meet our heroine Lyric, she’s a woman with a heavy weight on her shoulders. The company she works for has been betrayed by one of their own and she’s left behind to pick up the pieces when her boss jumps ship. Now she has to break the news to the new owner. She’s grounded and ready to speak her piece at the meeting when a blast from the past derails her plans.  Her golden skinned high toned high school sweetheart is back, and her boss!

Our unlikely hero Grayson St. Claire still holds her heart, but the lies that tore them apart still cut her to the core. After being abandoned his Mother and ignored by his Father Gray is a bit of a mess until Lyric comes along. Which is why her mistaken disloyalty drove him to create a hard shell and adopt a love ‘em and leave ‘em mentality. Gray’s first thoughts when he realizes Lyric is his employee are to make her suffer. At first it’s a signed agreement that keeps him from firing her, and later it’s the realization that those old feelings linger.  The passion betweens them sizzles and melt his icy demeanor.

Miss Ashton does not do weak willed  women in her stories. It’s one of the many things that keeps me coming back to read her work again and again.  Lyrics attempts to seduce are heated and entertaining as she chips away at the ice that surrounds Grayson’s heart. Just when you think he’s about to open up and let her inside a ghost from their past resurfaces. This story has it all, a love story that spans years, humor, mystery, and love scenes that satisfy.

Blindfold Me is a perfect blend of sweet and heat, and I highly recommend this to readers!

Excerpt of 'Blindfold Me'

Seconds after he walked into his office, Lyric burst in. “What the hell is your problem?”

He whipped around to face her. “You’re my problem!”

“What did I do?”

“Why didn’t you let me handle Antoni?”

“What are you talking about?” Confusion crossed her face. “I let you—”

“No, you didn’t. He deferred to you like you were the boss.”

“So?”

“So you’re not, I am.” He poked a finger in his chest.

“Is that what this about? Recognition?”

“No, this is about you.”

“What?” She crossed her arms.

“Zinno had his hands all over you and you allowed it.” He sounded like a child, but she brought it out in him. Jealousy rolled around in his gut, still foreign after all this time.

“You have no say in what I do,” she said.

“I do when it involves my business.” Who am I trying to convince?

“You know what? I’m out of here.” She turned toward the door.

“Is this what you do? Use your body to get your way, like you did with my brother?” As soon as the words left his mouth, he wanted to call them back.

“What did you say?” She whirled to face him, rage blazing out of control as she advanced on him.

“You heard me.”

“You son of a bitch!”

He had the chance to move aside or block her, but he didn’t. A resounding smack echoed when her palm connected with his cheek.

Shit.

Grayson licked his lips, tasted blood. She packed quite a wallop. His face throbbed as if hit by a two-by-four. He squinted at her and flexed his jaw. The anger in her eyes mixed with something else. Something a lot like the need pulsing through him. He stepped back, but she came forward.

“You’re bleeding,” she whispered, her gaze centered on his mouth.

He cursed silently. Doesn’t she realize her effect on me? The rage and fury from moments ago melted away from her. He wanted them back. Those he knew how to deal with, not the need in her eyes. He wanted for things he had no business wanting.

Grayson backed away. She cupped his jaw the same time his thighs connected with his desk. Nowhere to go.

This novel is un-freaking-believable and I mean that in a good way. What a read! This is the second book in The Fairy Series. Although each can be read as a stand alone.

We enter a place in Ireland where fairies come to life, literally. Thame is a fairy warrior with golden wings. In the first book, he’s attacked and we never find out what happens. In this book we do! He’s saved by a little thing just into womanhood. Breena has a wonderfully funny personality. She’s constantly falling in front of him. They were unique scenes that made me smile. Come on ladies, how many of us have gone for the sexy look and fell flat on our ass because of those damn high heels. Well, I know I have.  The Trolls, evil creatures, are at it again and Thame must save Breena this time.

It is a rollercoaster of action and adventure. The romance? The sexual heat was a slow sizzle that quickly led to an all out fire. Thame came out of his quiet, almost aloof shell and Breena finds out she’s not all human. Her father is someone we’ve all read about. It’s a nice, unexpected twist.

That said, she added a bit of each character and I think that was a bit risky. It didn’t work. Too much going on. Still the story prevailed. Her descriptions were lovely and magical. The fairy kingdom is a place I long to visit.

Ms. Keraleigh kind of reminds me of Laurell K. Hamilton. She has that really unique imagination with some seriously smoking sex scenes.

If you like hot reads that bleed romance give The Ravaged Fairy a read!

Excerpt of 'The Ravaged Fairy'

“If he tries anything, you have me permission to hack off his good bits off.”

“Gran!” A giggle lingered in her shocked tone.

“I’m just saying. I love you, Iníon.”

“I love you, too...” Breena covered her grin until Gran closed the front door and her little car rumbled to life. She wasn’t going near his good bits, and if she did it would not be to cut them off. First thing to do was get dressed. She would not be going near that gorgeous hunk of a man without proper clothing or else her mind would stay on the good bits instead of helping him healing.

It took only a moment to remove her favorite piece of clothing, and shove a pair of jeans along with a black sweater over her head. The black boots with white laces had extra cushion on the soles to help with her long walks to town. What happened to the original black ones, Breena glared at that freaking cat. It glanced at her with big green eyes and meowed innocently then scuttled under her bed.

Now she stood outside the stranger’s door with her hands full and her heart beating wildly in her chest. Why was she so anxious? Sure, he was striking but that had never made her body hum with desire like it did with him. She didn’t even know his name but the thought of that silky golden hair or his warm flesh made her pulse skyrocket. Breena shook her head, squared her shoulder and opened the door.

The room was quiet except for the gentle sound of his breathing. She shifted a chair from the kitchen to the side of his bed and placed the things in her arms on it. Her eyes wondered. How could they not roam his covered body? The clothes she grabbed yesterday were not on his person. His body was covered by Gran’s quilt, correction, his lower half was covered. The good bits, she grinned then walked to the big window that faced their front yard. She threw the curtain apart, this was another of Gran’s quilting projects and the movement displaced a lungful of dust. She wrinkled her nose, clicked the lock on the window and pushed the panes open. That would help him heal, feeling the sun warm his body and the wind on his face, a very handsome face. Her mind was definitely wandering.

She bit her lower lip and returned to the man that occupied her thoughts. How sad was she? He was the excitement, of her year. She plopped on the bed a little harder than she meant. The old wooden frame groaned and there was distinct snap before Breena felt herself tumble to the ground.

“Oh, shite.” Her hands instantly went to him as he rolled toward her, on an angle the bed was a makeshift ramp. His bare chest pressed against her palms and she pushed furiously to keep him from falling atop her. If he fell, he would land right over her and roll straight onto his damaged back. She pressed harder, used all her
strength to ease him back, but it was no use. “Wake up!” she yelled right at him and his lids began to lift.

Breena stared into the most compelling light green eyes that swirled with hints of yellow. They seemed to swirl as he shifted an arm and pressed his hand beside her head, using the floor as leverage to keep from squishing her. She couldn’t tear her sight away from his, they sucked her whole soul into a void of romance and lust.

“Who are you?”

His voice, dear lord, it was so raspy and deep she wanted to melt into a puddle. “Breena...” she whispered and frowned as she pressed against his chest more firmly. He was after all going to fall on her and there was no way he’d have the strength to pull himself up. Her muscles began to scream in protest as he kept staring.

“Breena...like the...”

“Yes.” she didn’t let him finish, her body protested the weight to loudly. “Me parents named me after a mythological fairy palace. Now help me because I’m trying to save your arse.” Technically, it was his back she was trying to help. At this point, she’d say anything to get him to move.

He squinted in confusion. “Save me?”

So he was daft. “Yes, pull yourself...” she never finished the sentence. The remainder of the bed cracked and he landed with a thud atop her. He weighed a ton, more than a ton. His body crushed hers into the hard floor and his lids once again fell shut. “Great...” At least he hadn’t rolled and landed on his back. Now she was stuck beneath him and couldn’t budge his massive size. Worse was that his hips had shifted and she felt the thick jut of his manhood against her middle.

The Kiss is a steamy contemporary romance with a magical and historical touch.

Eva is desperate for a job, she's running out of money and drawing won't pay the bills, That's why she accepts a very strict job where she can't keep in touch with anyone outside her workplace for four months. Adam is a cursed man with a terrible fate. He's paying for his sins for far too long and agrees that he deserves it. What will happen when they meet? And what's up with those statues?

The first part of this book kept me very anxious and curious to read next paragraphs. It flows really well, a good pacing and very interesting characters. I was expecting a bit more from it; more surprises, more love, more action! When it came to reveling the secrets, it was all too easy, simple and didn't involve the reader enough to truly believe that the main couple would have such strong feelings for each other, in order to make "sacrifices".

I was immersed into this story, Eva was very easy to relate to, and I had a great time! An enjoyable modern "fairy tale" story!

“Come in please,” he said and pulled her into the room.

It was as beautiful as Eva remembered and her eyes went straight to the flowers she had arranged on the bedside cabinet only yesterday. They were roses, white and red to match the room. The lights must have been turned on by someone and they gave the room almost a seductive air. Eva’s gaze fixed on the huge bed, draped in red silk... waiting.

He turned to face her, one hand continued to hold hers whilst the other shot out to shut the door. It closed with soft thud, leaving them completely alone. She waited for him to say something but he didn’t, he just continued to assess her with his eyes.

Eva bit down on her lip and tried to take steady, calming breaths. She had never felt so nervous in her entire life. The adrenaline was pumping through her body and once again her nipples were tingling.

The air around them was pulsing with what Eva suspected was desire, and it was impossible to think properly around it.

You’re probably imagining it. He probably just wants a drink made, a bath run or something. But those thoughts fled as soon as Eva realized his thumb was making little strokes up and down the side of her hand.

He lifted his other hand and fingered the curl which had escaped.

“Your hair is beautiful,” he said. “A beautiful color, the light makes it shine in the most amazing ways, like chocolate. It was the first thing I noticed when I came through the front doors. I saw it and had the most overwhelming desire to touch it. Release it for me please Eva, let me see it as it should be.”

“What?” Eva said for want of any other response, was he freaking serious?

He sighed and reached round for her braid. In one swift motion he pulled out the band holding it and freed her hair. As she knew it would if fell in a shock of riotous curls. He smiled and pulled the curls into his hands.

Eva squeaked.

“Beautiful,” he said. “As I knew it would be, as you are.” He shook his head slightly, seemingly bemused. “I didn’t expect this.”

“Expect what?” Eva asked, her words little more than a whisper. Dear God this can’t be happening.

“You.”

His hands moved from the curls and stoked slowly along the sides of her face. Her skin tingled in the wake of his touch.

“An unexpected development but a welcome one,” he continued. “I wonder what it means?”

“I... erm... I...” She didn’t know what to say. She couldn’t believe this was happening, Is this gorgeous, correction, the most gorgeous man I have ever seen seriously coming on to me? It seemed he was and Eva didn’t know what the hell to say, or do.

“Now, Eva,” he said playfully, pulling her out of her frenzied thoughts. “What I have to wonder is whether the woman beneath the curls is just as wild.”

Eva squeaked again. She had no experience of this, never before had she been the object of such practiced seduction. She didn’t know how to respond.

“Well, Eva?” he asked. “I have to say I suspect she is. No one can have such a devastating smile and not be.”

She bit down hard on her lip but nothing happened, she was not dreaming, this was real. What the hell was she supposed to do?

He sighed again and decided for her. Before she had time to even consider his words he pulled her to him and then his mouth was on hers and there wasn’t time to even protest.

His lips were cold, maybe from being outside but they moved over her with a sensuality that she could not help but respond to. His kissed Eva with a thoroughness she had never experienced, almost like he was trying to consume her. His lips coaxed hers, his tongue made patterns over her lips, plunged into her mouth until she could do nothing but kiss him back.
