Elena is the only female werewolf in the world, that anyone knows of. Most humans don’t survive the bite but for some reason she did. However, how she got the bite is the real story. It is from her fiancée, Clay, who never told her his deepest darkest secret. Years later, she separates from the pack trying to get back into a human state of mind. When the pack leader calls for help she reluctantly returns and nothing will ever be the same…
Okay, I’m starting this review off with the bad. They killed animals. I hate that in books. I’d normally DNF the whole series but I really like Elena so I kept reading and skipped those bits. The info dumps. Holy crap! There are pages and pages and pages of info dumps. This is an older book so I gave it a bit of leeway with that. But I like Clay and Nick too. I am kind of hoping the three of them have something going. So, I kept reading. There’s also cheating which is also another big no for me…I kept reading. The author manages to grab me and pull me in despite all these issues. She has some serious talent. I love the relationships in the pack. Jeremy, their leader, Clay who’s more animal than human and Nick who is all about the flirting. They all had a rough childhood but came together to survive.
The mystery aspect is well done. Who’s killing all these humans? Why are mutts suddenly banding together? I truly enjoy the suspense and the action is fantastic. I’ve already ordered the second book! Then I found out there’s a tv series based on this. That is definitely on my list to watch!

Get Your Greek On
Pro musician turned small town recluse Sean Kallis can't hide on the farm any longer. After the loss of his mother, his loneliness has nowhere to dwell but on the memory of the man who broke his heart, world-renowned bouzouki artist Loukas Stathis. It's been a year since Sean left Greece and Loukas far behind, but the offer of a holiday gig back in Loukas's hometown in Corfu is too good to resist. Surely he won't bump into his former lover on an island that size....or will he?
Sean and Loukas are good together. The emotions they feel for one another are strong yet heartbreaking. The premise of the book is as quirky as the Greek Christmas band Sean is asked to join; how many stories feature a clarinet player and a bouzouki player all in one? Sean's fond memories of and new experiences in Greece are vividly depicted. You can practically smell the lemon and oregano as you read through the pages--a sensual delight. You may break a plate or two while being edified in Greek Christmas traditions!
While the romance is heartwarming, keep your wits about you; you may trip over some odd word choices, typos and timelines like exposed tree roots. One character's name is spelled three different ways! And as a clarinet player I just have to say for the record: Soprano clarinet (very common) is pictured on cover. Alto clarinet (very uncommon) is specified inside the book. The two are completely different and believe me, alto clarinetists don't get many calls!
But hey, music, food, Christmas and love. I say "OPA!!"

Lawless is a five story anthology about men that aren’t exactly the nice guys. Avoiding danger and falling in love isn’t an easy balance. Dark and dirty accompany these short stories about lawless men who find love whether they’re looking for it or not.
Monsters by James Cox
Sunshine and Snakes by L.J. Longo
Live or Die by Kai Tyler
$250,000 Love by Jessie Pinkham
Silent Devotion by Angelique Voisen
This is a mixed bag for me. There are stories in this anthology that amazed me and other that just didn’t work. So, I’m going to talk about the one’s I did like.
The first story is monsters by James Cox. A simple, average guy is going out with a new man. But then the boyfriend blows up his lover’s whole family! I had no idea how the hell that was going to work in a romance?! I am pleasantly surprised and then I was turned on. Seriously hot! Let me just say, a dom that’s a bottom and holy hell, so freaking hot! I’m excited that this is part of a series too.
The second story is Sunshine and Snacks about a hitman that always gets his guy, even when he’s in prison. However, when he finds out who his next victim will be, he hesitates. This is a great story! Plenty of action, lots of the feels and a beautiful if dark and dirty romance. I really, really, really like this couple!
The third story I like is Live or Die by Kai Tyler. This has to do with an undercover agent, a cartel and old romances that haven’t been doused. The action and twists are done beautifully! I love pace that kept me on the edge of my seat. The characters are okay. I’m not totally in love with one of the main characters personality. This does have a great ending though.
I know what you’re thinking. If I only love a few stories why should you buy this book? Because those stories are not just great, they’re fabulous and sexy and totally worth it!

Cece isn’t going to break despite all fate has thrown at her including her cheating husband and lack of funds. She’s get a job as a crime scene cleaner and is on the trail of a killer…
I love this story! Cece is a character that I instantly loved. All hell has broken loose in her life and she takes it with a things will get better attitude. She kind of reminds me of a young murder she wrote or something. There’s that sweet, snarky, suspicious personality that I find addictive. As she goes through this crisis a family friend become a victim. The mystery is great and I am definitely going to see when the next book will be released. I’m hoping there will a be more romance in the next one.
If you like solving mysteries with likeable characters, this is a must read!
Asher is a police captain, both professional and dedicated. When he meets Daniel its an instant desire but can the rigid Asher really fall in love with such a free spirit?
Asher has me so on the edge right now. I both liked and hated him. There are those alpha moments that have me totally swooning but then he always goes to far. Now, Daniel, I love. He’s sexy and sweet and secretive. His character really kept me reading when Asher made me feel uncomfortable to continue. The sex itself is great, if a little dry. Maybe because there are a bunch of them in a row? I did really love that ending. I am happy to see them working things out and hopeful for their future.
Something in the Way He Needs is a highly recommend read for anyone who loves alpha’s!
Becka Clemmons runs the Health Nut Cafe and she is quite content with running her coffee shop, and enjoying life with her band of friends and workers, much to the dismay of her loving mother Silvy who believes in soulmates and destiny. The only romance in Becka's life is a recurring beach dream. One day Jonathon Parker walks in the door and something changes. Becka faints and the strange connection between the two of them begins. Will Becka figure it out, or will others will get in the way.
Becka is a likable character who is strong and has her own voice. Annie her sidekick, along with her mother Silvy help round out witty dialogue and situations that may have you chuckling out loud. Rich and Candy also have distinct personalities and the relationship between Annie and Rich is intriguing. The steamy connection keeps you plunging ahead. For those looking for an intriguing romance, secrets and an escape to a warm beach, this story will take you there. Check out Rhonda Frankhouser Health Nut Cafe, it is a book one, of shadowing souls, I'm intrigued where book two will lead you. This book will take you for a walk in the moonlight, to the beaches of Hawaii, the sandy ocean of the west coast and keep you turning the pages to discover just how deep and unusual connections and secrets can be.
Molly and Max have a complicated history. Molly’s an ex addict who’s being release from prison and Max is the cop that’s determined to help her. Neither of them expect such an intense romance that may just save them both.
Max is the real star of this story. He does all he could to help Molly as the guilt lay heavily on his shoulders. I also love me some hot cops. He has a dominant streak that is totally sexy. Molly is a bit of a miss for me. I know she’s had it rough and she’s trying to do the right thing but I don’t feel that much chemistry between the two. As the story plays out, Molly tries to fend off some dangerous characters, stay clean and figure out this thing with Max. I do feel like there are a lot of questions and issue that came up that the author never solved. Some scenes are full of intensity and other sort of a fizzle. This is an interesting story with a great plot and I’m definitely going to check out more from this author.
A break up sent Drew and Angelo their separate ways years ago leaving each on a path of unfulfilled romance and mediocre lives. But one night, Drew now a Dreamcatcher,a supernatural agent of sorts is sent on a mission to none other than his ex Angelo's home. Shocked, Drew barely gets his job done, but fate doesn't leave it at that. The chemistry between the two men is so strong, Drew can't stay away from Angelo. Besides that Angelo could well be part of the dark magic sucking the energy out of innocents. So, Drew seeks him out and that old fire flares making it impossible for the two men to stay apart.
I've never read any books by Liv Olteano, but the cover and the blurb drew me in. Lover, Lover has hints of Native American folklore woven through it in the form of the well known dreamcatcher as well as the myths of the spider woman. For me that's something new and a fresh take on the paranormal which I like. The two main characters Drew and Angelo were sweet together, but I never really did understand why Drew left Angelo. They were obviously in love, but Drew just walks out one day leaving Angelo with no note, no explanation which baffles me since they both seemed on the same page.
Drew's fears of how the relationship had developed and became so settled so fast just weren't fleshed out enough for my liking which made Drew's sudden departure from Angelo's life lack true substance. That was a weak point in the story, but when they're reunited Angelo is reticent about taking Drew back which rings true.
Still, Lover, Lover was a fun read and made use of the ideas of soul mates and twin souls something I enjoy reading about. The concepts were explained well and used effectively to show the reason for the depth of the connection between Drew and Angelo. However, the lack of a clear cut villain in the "caster" and and no clear resolution other than to say that that the team had cut off one of the caster's power sources left me wanting more information.
Despite that, I enjoyed Lover, Lover and Drew and Angelo's romance. A also liked that Ms. Olteano used dreamcatcher as a metaphor in the sense that Drew and Angelo who later joins the Dreamcatcher team, go out and stop dark forces who siphon off the energy of the sleeping. They don't go into dreams to stop the enemy.
I would recommend Lover, Lover to anyone who enjoys paranormal and fantasy romances.
This is the second book in The Tip of The Spear series. Layla and Cyrus from the previous book are living a happy life in Tel Aviv with their daughter. It all goes to hell when Layla is kidnapped by terrorists. Now Cyrus has to decide to stop the bomb at a nuclear power plant or save his wife’s life.
Wow! If you like romantic suspense then this is a must read. I happen to love the genre and this story is a blend of perfection. Layla and Cyrus who I love from the first book have their happy ending. Or did they? It’s nice seeing them in that loving place after they settle down. When she’s kidnapped I swear I nearly fell off my seat. I could not stop reading. From her waking up tied down to Cyrus’ frantic search, I am hooked. What really sets this book apart is the bad guys. They aren’t cookie cutter, average scum of the earth. They’re twisted and hiding things that give this story a great suspense aspect. Between that and the fabulous sex…this book is a must read!
Vengeance is a wild, dangerous ride to save both the world and the woman Cyrus loves. A must read!
