Mel has dumped her ex of two years for cheating on her. She is now determined to have a casual one night stand. When her best friend Adam discovers her plans, he decides to act and offers to fulfill her night of a hot fling. Who better than Adam, known playboy to give her the night she is looking for. Will this ruin their friendship forever or will Mel want more than one night?
The story is fun, flirty, and steamy. Mel seems like a nice girl who has it rough in the romance department. Her inner struggle throughout the story shows her doubts. Adam is a take charge kinda guy and I love the way he is to his friends. They have great chemistry together as friends and then as lovers. I do wish the story is longer to get more from them after they get together. Still a great sweet fun story!

Title: Rhodi's Light
Series: Rhodi Saga #1
Author: Megan Linski
Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal
TBR Reviewer: Bella Star
Rating: 3 Stars - A Good Read!
I was so excited to read this new author and her unique YA series. This was book one and it really feels like it may be several books in. The world building was interesting but not fleshed out. They fought with swords like a dystopian setting but there were cars? The story starts out in the middle of an action scene, fleeing from danger in the middle of the night with her parents but it’s bogged down with descriptions and information. I wished it was more balanced. The editing was a bit off too. Sentences that were strange sounding. The book could really use another look through. The characters themselves were great! I loved every single one them. They had such spirit and complexity. I loved the push and pull between them. There were some serious issues in this book that may trigger a reader but there was a warning in the blurb so you know what you’re getting into.
Overall, Rhodi’s Light was an interesting journey.
Dreams do come true.
As a little girl, Jada imagined another world on the other side of her closet door. As an adult she transformed those imaginings into fantasy worlds through her books. When she loses everything of this world in a tragic accident, can she dip into the dream well just one more time to live with her imaginary lover in a world that will last forever ?
Thoughtful and imaginative, I had to re-read this book a second time to appreciate the subtle but important details that made the story fit together like a beloved jigsaw puzzle. So satisfying when all the pieces are in place and you admire the finished picture all over again! Jada's willingness to sacrifice everything to reunite with her dream-world companion Rhydian is heart wrenching; illustrating just how far one will go when there's nothing left to lose. Rhydian's regression into a brutal creature of the night during Jada's years of absence is also sad; but makes his redemption all the sweeter.
When Jada finally solves her own puzzle, the result is both beautiful and gratifying. Despite a few somewhat clumsy phrases and odd word choices, Worlds Apart is a recommended read, especially for those who dream of escaping to a fondly remembered childhood fantasy. And who doesn't?
Let’s just take a moment and show our appreciation of that cover because…damn! Drool worthy!
Okay, now the review.
Levi can see the darkness in a person but he’s also cursed to be attracted to that darkness. There’s nothing as dark as the new guy in town, Monroe, and he might just get them both killed.
I liked the relationship between Ward and Levi. They’re best friends, it feels realistic and honest. I love the dark mystery that is Monroe. His past is a great unveiling. As much as I love Levi, Monroe is just as good, well, technically he’s ‘bad’ but you know what I mean. The characters are awesome. The plot itself is unique and really great. Curses, visions, sexy men. When we finally get to the sex it is so freaking hot! Absolutely worth the wait but I would have liked more romance. Maybe to fill in that time jump of two months or something but that’s just my preference. And then we come to the twist. What a freaking twist it is! I did not see that coming. The ending is intense, exciting and completely satisfying. This is my first time reading this author and certainly not my last.
Poison Tongues is a must read from a talented author!
Lady Fay traverses her parapet wall and waits with bow drawn taut. Only when she notices that the rowboat that arrives with Saxon men are tonsured does she relax a little. She need not shoot one of King Alexander’s suitors today. She does however lets go of her bow and the arrow lands in front of the man in the lead. Lady Fay is not fond of priest either. Nicholas Bruce jumps at the arrow landing at his feet. The deadly queen is just as lovely as his remembers. He feels like suddenly his disguise will not work. He is the bastard son of the Earl of Annadale. His job is to enthrall the Queen and bed her if he wants to survive. He has no choice.
I like this story a lot. It is a historical but I feel is a little more modernized, the plot is not boring or plain. Lady Fay is certainly an entertaining character. There is never a dull moment with her. Nicholas is deceiving her although you can tell he struggles with this, he has no choice. I love their story and what journey they lead. I gave this story 5 stars because I like how it has a different take on a historical romance.

Nat is a fire starter that pulls a sexy fast one of his bounty hunter, Gabe. Now, he’s on the run, again, but Gabe has a few secrets of his own. Together they may just get out of this alive.
This is what I’m talking about! I’ve been in a book slump lately and this book is exactly what I needed. Fantastic writing with fabulous characters and a unique plot. Sold! Nat is adorable and sweet, kind of. He’s a fire starter which is really freaking cool. Gabe is the bounty hunter that nearly sleeps with Nat before he finds out that he’s wanted. Oh, he’s also a dragon shifter. It is a great start and the entire book follows this lead. However, I think the book would have benefited from another sex scene. The romance needs more. But if you love paranormal or shifters or both then this is going to be a must read for you. I can’t wait to read more from this author.
Never Lose Your Flame is a highly recommended read!
This is the second book in the Wrench Wars series. I really liked the first book (review here), so I snatched up Normal Enough. I’ve read this author before and loved her other book, so I am excited about a great series paired with a great author. This is about Kasey and his unusual fetish. He meets Brandon and the sparks fly.
Kasey likes being in the background, especially during the filming of Wrench Wars. I instantly fell for him and can relate to his personality. He is so cute when he’s in the car trying to hide how much the car turns him on. Yes, that’s right and as odd as it sounds here, the way the author explains it actually seems pretty legit. Nothing too weird just something that made him harder than normal. Brandon is a bit tougher to understand. He is so quick to hit on Kasey, without knowing the guy he offered his car for sex. Now that is creepy. But I did like Kasey’s response, that is more realistic. And after some more time they finally have a facetime moment that blew me away. It is so damn hot! I need an ice cold shower or my husband. Right. Now. After that the story is just freaking amazing. I love the budding romance between Kasey and Brandon. It is sweet and perfect. There really isn’t much in this book about the TV series being filmed other than Kasey trying to avoid it. Also the story is actually 66 pages, the rest is an excerpt for the next book so that was a bit disappointing. But overall, I really like this book. It’s another great addition to the Wrench Wars series.
Normal Enough is another great read in the Wrench Wars Series. You shouldn’t pass this series up!
Riley is a former sniper and he has his scope on the sexy Marcel but secrets may just cost them their lives.
Talk about starting a book off with a bang, in this case it’s the bang of an rpg. Riley and Marcel have great chemistry. I love that they don’t start off all gooey eyed at each other but literally yelling. Their romance is really spread out over the book and extremely satisfying. The mystery plot is just as good. I like the action and the balance is great. Romantic suspense is a tough genre to get right and I think this author did a fabulous job.
No Impact is an intense read and I look forward to more in this series!
Dacey is a prostitute and Tyson is her client but at the beginning of this story it appears that Tyson wants more. Dacey is interested but she has a pimp that won’t let her go. Can the injured vet Tyson save her?
It doesn’t take long for you to fall in love with both Dacey and Tyson. He lost his leg in the army and he feels ugly and weak. I want to hug him so hard. Dacey is in a bad situation and it’s been horrible since she was seventeen. Their story is both heartbreaking and hopeful. I found myself pulled into this world rooting for Darcy and Tyson. The sex is fantastic! Their romance is sweet and really satisfying.
Star Spangled Cowboy is a must read for romance readers!
