Just read that blurb. I don’t want to paraphrase, it’s too good! Okay fine. We have Cin (Cinderella) who has a tough life with his definitely evil step sisters and step mother who leaves him in the attic in the winter where he loses a toe. There’s the evil fairy godmother who has a twist at the end that made me reread this story with the new information. Poor Cin just wants to have one last day of fun at the prince’s orgy and then his fairy godmother shows up with dwarfs to collect him. Let the chaos and romance ensue!
One word: Fetish.
Yeah, the prince has a shoe fetish but honestly, it’s not that kinky. I’ve read a lot more mouth dropping fetishes in books. This one hits the perfect spot for me. When Cin and Henry meet it’s like spark fly. Of course, Cin is in a woman’s dress and Henry is feeling up his leg. There are some hilarious moments in this book and some sad ones. Sexy, definitely, oh my God yes! A good story? Not so surprisingly yes. The characters aren’t cardboard. They have layers and twists that reveal themselves over time. That scene with his step sisters almost raping him is intense. I do wish the story was a bit longer to give us more. More of everything. I love this world.
This is the second book in the Cox Fairytale series and I highly recommend them both! If you like a kinky, unique twist on fairy tales then James Cox is a must read!

Finally, Joey and Stoli are in a relationship. It’s all new and unsure and adorable. They are on tour with the rest of the band experiencing the life of success. Mostly...
For a rock band the book is awfully uneventful. I just feels like nothing happens. There is one big, scary event but I don’t know. The story just feels like it drags. I do love the new relationship with Stoli and Joey. They have great chemistry and are so cute together. They are truly charming. I also love how the rest of the band acts toward them. Playful banter. Sex jokes. It is sweet and entertaining. The author also added more song lyrics which is such a great touch. Overall, this I enjoyed the second book in the Social Sinners series.
DROWNING HER SORROWS
Thirtysomething widow Gayle Connolly works in the beer business but all the beer in the world won't drown her grief over losing both her husband and son in a fatal crash. Parting the waters of her self-blame is no easy task for Noah Stokes, the young man whose own dreams were dashed by circumstance but whose fatal attraction for his new boss Gayle provides an entirely new bottle to drink from.
Overcoming grief and giving one's self permission to forgive and move on is the major theme here. Though tragic, Gayle Connolly's three year wallow in self-pity seems a little overdramatized. Also, her ultra-rich, more-money-than-Croesus lifestyle is a little unbelievable, as is some out-of-character dialogue and sudden, slutty behavior on both character's parts. However, she manages to turn the head of a hard-working and honest young man several years her junior. Predictably, she pushes him away but gradually succumbs to his advances. The sad part is the wringer she puts him through along the way.
While I like the older woman-younger man pairing, it's not without its obvious problems. He wants to avoid being the boy-toy and poor Gayle doesn't know how to treat him any other way. Noah doesn't give up though, which is a 'testament' to his patience and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done. And like the old-testament Noah, perseverance does pay off; you just have to be the bearer of the olive branch once in awhile. The result is a story and a relationship that is a uniquely crafted brew of attraction, grief, guilt, forgiveness, hot sex, and eventually love. Cheers to that.
Joey is part of the rock band Social Sinners. When he catches his boyfriend cheating he starts to fall into a deep dark hole. Long time friend and bandmate, Stoli, may just be the light that helps him out of the dark.
I have to say I wasn’t sure what to expect as I’ve never read this author before. My music tastes don’t exactly go in line with Social sinner but the author actually shares the lyrics which is a nice, detailed touch. However, the first half of the story is very slow moving and jumpy. The romance is primarily between Joey and Lucas. Lucas who I didn’t like and as the blurb states, not liking him for a good reason. The sex scenes are hot but because they’re between Joey and Lucas, with Lucas cheating, it makes them not so sexy. There wasn’t really much romance between Joey and Stoli which made me question if this was really a romance book. It was more about Joey and Social Sinners becoming famous. This book had a lot of potential. I’m excited to read the next book in the series.

“If by it, you mean the fumbling, confusing start of something with Seb, then yes. Don’t sell yourself short. Give him a chance, too. He’s not like the other guys,” Andi said.
“You sound like a motivational poster.”
“Sorry.” Andi giggled. “Just trying to help.”
“You are.” She sighed. “I need to go. I’m working a six-to-two tomorrow and need to get some sleep.” She’d never be able to settle down, but still.
“Blech. That’s too early.” Andi stood. She left the room with Mary. “Good luck.”
“Thanks.” She hugged Andi. “I know you’re not a morning person, but you’re awesome. I’m going to lean on you.”
“I expect it.” Andi waved. “See you.”
Mary waved and left. She headed to her car. Her brain buzzed from her session with Sebastian and the pep talk from Andi. She liked being on display, and Sebastian knew how to make her feel alive while giving her release. Many other Doms had given her orgasms and played to her needs, but they hadn’t scratched the exact itch within her.
She drove home and sang along with the radio. Once at her apartment, she unpacked her bag, downed a glass of water, then brushed her teeth. She noticed her reflection in the mirror. She gasped. Damn. Her hair was a mess and her makeup smudged. She hadn’t checked her look before she played with Sebastian. He probably thought she didn’t care about her appearance.
Oh well. She didn’t have time to think about her ridiculous hair and makeup. She’d probably mussed herself during her shower. That had to be the case.
She finished brushing her teeth, then washed her face before falling into bed. She needed sleep or she’d be crap at work.
Mary prided herself at being at the top of her game at the air traffic control center. Lives depended on her doing her job. To do the best she could, she needed to settle down.
Within a few minutes and white noise playing in the background, she managed to fall asleep. For the first time in a long while, she didn’t dream and managed to relax.

Seventeen-year-old Ruby lives in a world where Frostbloods rule. She has to hide among them because she can wield fire. When she’s discovered her whole world is turned upside down. She must survive prison, the chaos of the games and an evil presence determined to take control. All the while the scarred and quiet Arcus is twisting her heart. Can she survive for revenge? Will that be enough to save her soul?
This book is fantastic! I instantly liked Ruby from the start. She is excited about her fire wielding but scared by it too. When she’s discovered, she goes from unsure girl to angry woman. She refuses to give in and survives purely for revenge. When the story of the world unfolds she realizes she’s meant for bigger things. Arcus is a part of her future. The angry scarred frostblood has more inside him than either of them knew. Twists make the story even more entwined with this history of the land. I absolutely fell into this book and didn’t want to leave. I’ve already ordered the second book, Fireblood.
If you like fantasy with beautiful world building and a sweet romance this is a must read.
It all started with 25 years stuck together in a lifeless space vessel...must admit it would have driven me insane! Well, they were vampires. The story begins when they return to Earth. Would their romance rekindle?
The story is a well written vampire on vampire romance, with a helping hand from a reporter. It has a strong man on man theme, but if you're looking for heavy sci-fi, you'll be disappointed. There are only three main characters, two male vampires and a human male. The old vampire finally discovers love, but the turned vampire is suffering from PTSD caused by a 25 year lack of human blood. The reporter will do what is needed to land a good story, even if he has to donate some of his own blood. The characters are well rounded, believable with depth. The story is developed by switching between their perspectives building the romance to a hot vampire-on-vampire explicit climax. If you enjoy this one, there's a strong hint of a sequel involving the same three characters. Like vampire romance? It's worth a try.
SEX and ___ and ROCK N ROLL.
Fill in the blank--this story rocks! Guitar Goddess Henley Hendrix must find her way back to the music after the tragic death of her best friend and bandmate Caleb King. Accompanying her brother's band on tour seems like a good way to ease into things until the attentions of rock n roll bad boy Jagger Carlyle--her childhood crush--threaten to unravel both her career and her heart.
Written with inside knowledge of the industry, Broken is an unvarnished look into the backstage lives of hard-rock musicians, and the picture is not always pretty. Enduring grueling road trips and constant media attention in addition to relentless fan expectations and the lure of addictive substances are just the start of the challenges they face. Happiness, let alone love, is elusive in this world, so when Henley discovers her attraction to Jagger is reciprocal, she approaches with caution. Luckily for readers their steamy affair escalates into the stratosphere like a face-melting guitar solo!
Alas, just as Henley begins to trust in their relationship and muster the drive to reunite her old band, things go off the rails once more, leaving readers to scream in the dark like concert going fans when the lights go out. Two things holding back five stars for this read are:
1) a fear of the main characters smoking themselves to death (really, not every musician has to smoke morning noon and night!)
2) the dreaded ending that I won't say, but rhymes with 'headbanger'...
If you like gut-wrenching roller coaster rides of the emotional kind, climb aboard the Guitar Face train. There are more tour stops to go on this road trip!
A leopard can't change its spots, but can a wolf change his ways?
Connie Duncan isn't convinced. When she accidentally learns her employer-turned-lover Tor Vladimir is a wolf-shifter she wants nothing more than to run away from him, and his relentless pursuit of her across a continent only proves he will never stop, never surrender, nor ever be the man she thought he was. Once caught, will she ever escape him again?
This story hooks you from the start, as Connie hides from Tor in the backstreets of Milan, Italy only to come face to face with him just as she's preparing to make a break for it. What follows is an exploration of their unconventional relationship, their true feelings for each other, and the ins and outs of how an unwilling wolf shifter came to be and how he manages the hand fate has dealt him.
It takes some convincing, and some TLC, but when these two finally get close their encounters are smoking hot and satisfying, especially against the backdrop of Tor's magnificent mountain retreat. Who wouldn't feel the call of the wild in a beautiful, isolated setting, virtually marooned with a sexy hunk of a man who is part wolf? But for a pair that is inevitably fated to be together, Connie and Tor appear very conflicted toward each other. Connie's endless internal rationalizations about her situation get a bit tiresome, and both characters' flip-flopping between love and hate is as frustrating as watching the petals being plucked off a daisy.
However, what's love without its challenges? While they can't change what they are, in the end both must change a little to make it work, and find that happy ever after. That's true whether you're wolf or human! A love story to really sink your teeth into!
