Elecia is in a world where men dominate. Woman are expected to obey. It has been this way for a millennium and no one seems to want to change things, except Athena Rochan. Athena ran her fathers’ shipping company while he is away at war. She increased profits, improved their fleet, and garnered new contracts. Her fathers reward is putting her in her place and hires Barik Lugaren to train her in the ways of Elecian woman and whats to be expected as a wife. She must submit to him or be disowned. Athena believes Elecian laws towards woman are barbaric and disgusting. She will submit to her training in order to see her mother but, she will fight Barik all the way.
The story has a different and interesting plot, which I really enjoyed. Although the planet is advanced, the way it is described seems somewhat backwards than advanced but it makes the story that much better. Athena, now she is great. She is full of spunk and would not be broken by Barik. Barik is another spicy aspect of story. I must say I find his way of training Athena jaw dropping at times. I am definitely surprised with some of her training and how things turn out. This book could be great as a series. All in all a great short story!
