With a stolen lottery ticket, Lucas changes his whole life. A private island and expensive underwear are a few of the things he’s spent some of the money on. And if the world thinks he’s going through boyfriends as fast as his underwear, he’ll let them think that. Phoenix is a thief and he wants to make one last big score. He beds Lucas to steal the jewels that dangle from a very private place on Lucas’ anatomy. So why does he feel bad now? And what happens when Lucas catches him?
This is the first contemporary story from this author, I was curious to see how it would turn out. I love his other works. And I love this! It is so much fun to read. It starts off scary, for both Lucas and Phoenix. But those situations are what engages and pulls you into the story. Like all of James Cox's books, this is fast, fun, snarky and smoking hot. He writes like no other, with great plots, characters and story lines. And boy does he know how to write a sex scene. Completely enjoyed this story.
Stealing His Dangling Jewels is a must read!

Paolo is a lonely vampire. He’s watched a lot of his coven find their mates. He knows his mate is out there, he just needs to wait. But in the meantime, he’ll help protect Claude’s coven by doing a little spying on the Dark Slayers. The Dark Slayers are holding a recruiting initiation at the club. When Paolo sees new recruit, Dakota, he sees someone who doesn't look like he wants anything to do with the Slayers. Paolo decides to rescue the recruit, and if the recruit is the most attractive man he’s seen, it just makes his job easier.
This is book five in The Vamp for Me series. You do need to read these in order to establish the characters and the relationships between them. Bailey writes easy to read, fun, little stories, with great characters. Paolo is sexy, sassy and a little out there. Dakota is flat broke. He’s a little shy and down on his luck, with the worst big brother ever. As always, the secondary characters are just as fun and add much to the story. I love Jude, hoping he gets a story.
If you’re Bailey Bardford fan, this is a must read. If you haven't read this author yet, what are you waiting for?!
Sheriff Will Jacoby is thirty years old. He’s straight, or so he thinks and has never met Miss Right. Not even close to one. So why is he reacting and thinking lusty thoughts about Brannon, the kid living in his complex? Brannon’s been lusting after his older neighbor for quite some time. He’s why Brannon wants to be a cop. Will denies what he’s feeling and pushes Brannon away. A tragedy pushes Brannon back into Will’s life and he’s tired of fighting how he feels.
This is a nicely written but very short story. Because it’s so short the plot is very condensed, so it does lack some depth to it, but it is a complete and very easy to read book. Except for the tragedy that sends Brannon back into Will’s life, it’s a fun little story that I enjoyed. It is book three in a series, but it can be read as a stand alone. The cover is hot and so is this book.

Slava thinks leaving Russia will get his life back on track. After being caught in a compromising position, he’s given up his business to the state and starts a divorce from his wife. Life is good, until there is an attempt on his life. Enter Liam and Aidan, bodyguards for hire. Liam and Aidan, along with their dog Hayam, are settling into their lives in their new fixer-upper home in outside of Nice. Taking the job to protect Slava is what they need to finance the work needed on the house. Now if only their client would do as asked and not put himself in danger.
This is book eight in the series, but I haven't read any of the previous books. I had no problem getting into the story or the lives of Liam and Aidan. This story is well written, the characters are easy to know and the mystery/suspense element pulls you along. The secondary character, Thierry as a love interest for Slava, adds a fun side romance element to the story. I did enjoy the story. But having never been to Europe, I got a little lost in the geography, which is the only part of the story I had any trouble with.
Max Ashford thought he made it. He is living his dream and is playing in the National Hockey League. In an instant, his dream is over. A hit from defense man Misha Samarin ends his career playing hockey. Fast forward five years and they meet as the new coaching staff for the Spartanburg Spitfires. The worst team in the league. Can the guys work together? Can they make the team a winner? And if Max has forgiven Misha for the hit, can he get Misha to forgive himself?
Power Play is a lovely, enjoyable story about guys who should have been enemies, but went beyond coworkers and friends to lovers. The author writes a great look into the world of minor league hockey and the relationships that form within a team. As a hockey mom, I know better than most how real this book is written. The practices, the games, the nonsense in the locker room. All of it is very real. The cast of characters that make up the roster of players adds so much to this book. This book is part of a series, but each book can be read as a standalone.
Already questioning their relationship and what they do inside their bedroom, Braden starts to pull away. He shouldn’t want to do the submissive things that his lover asks for. Then Braden walks in on work and life partner, Rafe, with another man, and he reads it all wrong. He figures that Rafe has had enough of Braden never being there, of them never having sex or a relationship at all. Braden walks out. He walks away from the business they started together and from Rafe as well. Five years later life is about going through the motions, because he still loves Rafe. And Rafe is still in love with Braden, he wants a second chance, even if it might mean giving up his dominate ways. But can he really change who he is at his core? Or will he be able to get Braden to understand that he’s a submissive at heart. He has twenty-eight days on a cruise to try to win back the man he has always loved.
This story is beautifully written. The author takes you through the journey of their re-building a relationship. The story allows you to see each character’s perspective, their feeling and emotions. You understand how and why each of them feels the way they do. You also feel how much they love each other, how much outside influences, and what society deems as normal behavior, played a part in their breakup. This story is about more than sex or BDSM, although the sex scenes are hot. All around this is a wonderful story.
Single Lucas Thompson has all the success he wants. And if he has to lie and cheat to seal the deal, well that’s the price he’s willing to pay. But all of his success doesn’t make him any less lonely. Invited to his best friend’s wedding in the Bahamas, he knows he needs to take a plus one, to stave off his family and their questions about his single status. But who? Maybe the male escort he shared a taxi with? Jack McQueen has been an escort for years, he loves the money but does he love himself? And with all of the men he’s been with, why does he still feel alone?
Lucas is, in a word, an ass in the beginning. He doesn't redeem himself until half way through the story. Jack is just as much of a jerk as Lucas. Snarky and pushy, I didn’t change my mind about him until the midway point as well. As I read, I kept wondering how the author is going to make these guys likable? But she did. Dolce wove a wonderful story, the characters changed and grew as the story progressed. They went from men I want to hate to ones that I love and rooted for to get their happily ever after. The cast of secondary characters are just as well written and added depth to the story.
A return to Cozzi Cove finds a new group of vacationers taking up residence in the seven little bungalows. Owner Cal and his lover Michael having a few problems with their relationship. And maid Conner is still hooking up with any man he can. Visiting this time, are ex partners with young lovers in tow. But maybe they aren’t as over each other as them seem. And where does that leave the young lovers? There is the straight guy with his best friend and his friend’s pretend partner. And for the first time ever, a woman is staying in the cove.
This trip to Cozzi Cove is even better than the first. The story has a gentler feel to it. There is still angst, some sadness, some fights, and misunderstandings. Again, the author varied the types of character in this story, from the paid escort to the surprise guest there for Cal. The straight guy and the woman in this story work beautifully, which surprises me but I love their being included here. I love how the relationship between Cal and Michael has this hiccup and yet they work to resolve it.
Beautifully written, the story pulls me in and keeps me in Cozzi Cove. I look forward to my next visit there.
Using the few talents they have, Maitland and Lenny open a pet detective agency. They have been life long friends and occasional ‘friends with benefits’ between boyfriends. It’s a dark and stormy day in southern California, where it never rains, that they get their first customer in their new office. It’s also the point where and when things in their relationship starts to change.
Warning: You will laugh out loud. Be prepared for funny looks if you are out in public and reading this. You should also make sure you don’t have liquid in your mouth when you read this. If you are reading and sipping, there will be drink spewing. It is that funny! There is everything I love about a John Inman story in this book. He always has great writing, entertaining characters, a fabulous plot and pacing. All of the characters are wonderfully written. And they are varied, from Lenny and Mait, to a lean mean pooping machine Chihuahua. Add in parrots, gerbils, lizards and a few other pets, add their owners with all of their weirdness and this story becomes a hoot. There are bumbling detectives, suspense, criminal activity and hot sex. This story has it all for me.
You really, really should read Two Pet Dicks!
Wesley is alpha born. He should be the next Alpha of his pack when his uncle steps down. But he’s different from the rest of his pack. He has a scar on his abdomen that makes him an abomination to his pack. He finally finds out he’ll never be the alpha when his uncle makes a deal to ‘trade’ him to the Red River pack as a mate to Jobe, part of the alpha family there. This makes Wesley feel like little more than a whore. Jobe’s pack is isolated; they stick closer to Mother Nature making Jobe more spiritual and in touch with the world around him (almost hippie like, and yes I’m showing my age). He is actually an alpha, but he doesn’t have a scent so most wolves don’t know it. Meanwhile Jobe has some explaining to do about his lies of omission or making assumption about what Wesley knows. Also he needs to explain about the reasons his pack is so different from others packs.
I love this author’s stories. I read the first in this series, loved it, so I am excited to read this one. While good, I feel there is too much of an effort to make this shifter world different from the other, numerous, stories out there. There are too many things about Jobe’s pack that Wesley’s and other packs didn’t know about. Things, traditions or information lost by the other packs over the years. Then there is the convenient way that the scar on Wesley’s belly is not really a scar and Jobe’s explanation of it. There’s lots of miscommunication in this story. I did love both characters, both so different from each other. I don’t want to say too much and give things away what isn't in the blurb.
I really enjoyed Red River and shifter fans are going to love this series!
