This is the third and last book in the Jeff Woods Mystery books by Chris T. Kat. Jeff, former cop turned private detective has moved to Washington with his lover Alex and his disabled brother Sean. Parker, his former partner also moved with him and his boyfriend, David. In this book, they’re investigating the murder of a man and their client owns the sword that did the murdering. As it turns out Alex is taking classes from the suspected murderer…
Parker and Jeff are awesome partners which is why I loved them as cops. Private investigators work just as well. They have great dialogue and fantastic action. The mystery itself is a great story. Investigations, twists, and lots of suspects. I really enjoyed that. The romance between Alex and Jeff as well as Parker and David is really sweet and very sexy.
The Jeff Woods Mystery Series is a must read for romantic suspense readers!

We’re back in the Jeff Woods Mystery world. Jeff is a former cop and his lover Alex with his disabled brother Sean. The first book in this series is fantastic. This second book is about Jeff after he quits being a police officer. That kind of bummed me out, I liked Jeff as a cop and didn’t really believe him transferring to a radio personality. Anyway, The Church of Virtue is sharing their warped view of Jeff’s homosexuality and Alex is being beaten up by a loan shark.
Jeff and Alex are still trying to figure out life together and with Sean as well as trauma from the previous book where a killer near drowned all three. Parker, Jeff’s former partner and his lover David are also a continuing cast in this story. Which is good because I like them too. The action is good but there isn’t as much balance like the first book. I like the domestic angle, it’s sweet, but too much of it makes some sections slow moving. It didn’t make sense why Alex would go to the loan shark by himself. That part felt very forced and unbelievable. Don’t get me wrong, I still really enjoyed this book. I also look forward to the next story in this series.
I’m a huge fan of romantic suspense and this was certainly that. Jeff is a harden cop looking to get lucky. Alex is the too young, over confident man that flirts with him at a bar. Soon his case brings him to Alex’s door and an unexpected twist…
I’m normally not a fan of two guys meeting for sex and fall in love type of story. The sex usually reads cheap and unemotional because the two characters don’t know each other. This author impressed the hell out of me. Both characters, Alex and Jeff had such great personalities that really made their actions believable. The dialogue and details between them made the first sex scene hot and most importantly plausible. Oh and did I mention it is hot and fun! (Although, there’s more words to describe a man’s ‘equipment’ than just one.) The suspense aspect is Jeff’s case, someone is going after the disabled. It is a great cop story and Jeff’s partner, Parker, is another great character. The action is intense! Although I did figure out who the killer is fairly quickly it is great reading about Jeff and Alex figuring it out. I really love reading about this world and these men. I look forward to the next book!
