Aaric Tamang never claimed his mate - his human female mate - because of the curse his family was under. Now that the curse has been broken, he sadly watches as members of his family are able to mate without fear. At a Halloween party, though, he meets Crain Ponders, who claims that he is Aaric's mate and turns everything he thinks he knows upside down.
Kontra's Menagerie is another series I really enjoy reading. The characters are fun, and since they are a nomadic group, each setting is different. I also liked the way the title of this book played into the story in two different ways. Aaric received a second chance at mating, and Crain gave him a second chance after he screwed up so badly at their first meeting. They were really hot together, too! I also liked the way the secondary characters were used to help guide the story along.
On Devil's Night (the night before Halloween), Michigan's emergency service workers need to be prepared for mischief, mayhem, and danger. Established couple Matt and Lucas spend the evening facing one crisis after another until one emergency creates the possibility of the end of their story.
Stephani Hecht's EMS Heat series is always an enjoyable read, and I especially liked seeing two of the previous characters front and center again. I've always liked Matt's snarkiness and penchant for matchmaking. He and Lucas are two of my favorite characters. This particular book is full of craziness as the men respond to various strange calls, but the overall story is one of the couple's love for each other and the friendships among the various emergency workers. I certainly recommend it to fans of the series.
