Captaining your own spaceship has its perks, but finding love in a lonely galaxy isn't one of them. Capt. Arrah Crace thinks her heart's been locked down for good, until an super-sexy intergalactic bouncer she's hired for protection on a medical relief mission blows her sensual blast doors wide open.
Outer space may be cold, but this sci-fi romance is smoking hot. In spite of this story's short length, all the main characters are remarkably well developed (in more ways than one) and the plot holds just the right combination of simplicity and intrigue. Arrah Trace is in command, a respected leader who has no trouble expressing her feminine sexual side. Lash Trag is a Beguiler from planet Arkos, a man who has the power to use his sexual pheremones at will to influence others. But really, who needs that when his muscular, sexy regular self does all the influence he needs? Arrah and Lash's attraction is immediate and their private encounters hot as an exploding star! The author also does a great job in creating the futuristic setting, making it plausible and with a realistic level of technology, something this reader admires. As well, an honorable mention to Arrah's human-cyborg second in command Phadar. Too sexy to be artificial, he's a robot to remember! He's more than meets the eye, and we'll be keeping watch for his story in upcoming installments to this series.
While its short length, too many "A" names (Arrah, Arkos, Avira, Adana) and odd cover art are minor drawbacks, for those who may not ordinarily venture into the space opera genre, Beguiled is a great way to start the journey!
