Darcelle Lebeau knows she's different. Relegated to the shadows of her sister's celebrity existence, she forsakes her family-dictated role as unpaid PA and general handmaiden in favor of her own shadowy world of stealth and robbery. For a year she's yearned to meet her mysterious underworld mentor whom she calls 'Matou'-- meaning 'Tomcat'. But Matou has more than B&E training in mind for his kitten--his 'minou'. Can love and larceny co-exist? Or will curiosity and the biggest heist of Darcelle's career kill the cat burglar inside her?
I liked Darcelle Lebeau for her rebel instincts and enjoyed the story for its originality in setting the characters and the romance within a world of occupational crime. It's refreshing to see a heroine who knows from the get-go she will never follow a conventional or directed path, and embracing her true nature rather than denying it. Her 'Matou' Sebastian St. Croix is predictably mysterious, outrageously handsome and obscenely rich. It would have been nice to see a few more flaws and internal angst from this hero; seems like there's more backstory to him than is actually revealed which renders him a bit bland and uninteresting. As well, Darcelle's estrangement and subjugation by her mother and sister is never explained and seems unfounded. While there were a few flashes of brilliance, the general writing style seemed uninspired and occasionally silly. "The night was dark, which was a break for them." Hello? Cat Burglars? The sex scenes between Darcelle and Sebastian are borderline hot,
but seem to fizzle before actually giving the reader their payday. Some wasted potential here.
All that aside, the premise and story is original and entertaining. Everyone has a little larceny inside, and this story will definitely let your inner cat burglar out of the bag!
There's no rest for the wicked, nor the retired CIA.
Former agents Nick Seven and Felicia Hagens take a vacation to Virginia Beach to get away from it all, but just can't seem to separate business from pleasure. When a criminal Felicia thought long dead reappears aboard a luxury yacht, he re-opens old wounds that won't heal until Felicia brings him to justice and finds closure for herself.
Although book 5 in a series, Catch and Release stands on its own, bringing both the characters and plot clearly to life for the reader. You can practically hear Felicia's West Indies twang coming through in the dialogue. The author's understanding of boats, boating and guns is also evident and lends great authenticity to the action.
However, a few of the secondary characters seemed a bit cardboardish, and their names even more so. (Sorry Mr. Smith, but the name Bones McCoy was already taken years ago by a fairly famous sci-fi series!)
Overall well written with enough fast-paced action to keep you reading all in one go. This Catch of the Day is served with a little spice on the side. Recommended fare!

Kate O’Neill is a software developer. She has everything going for her a nice place, great job, and good man. Feeling she is missing something she accepts a job in Thailand. This is were Kate becomes involved in two men very different from one another. Each man teaches her knew ways to be touch on her body as well as her heart. David makes a visit to Bangkok forcing Kate to accept that she must choose between her three lovers.
I liked the idea of this story. Kate is really getting in touch with herself. She has taken more risks and learned so many new things about herself with this move. Each man in her life brings something new to the table furthering her discovering of who she is. This book has a little bit of everything from self-discovery, learning new cultures, BDSM and finally deciding who she really is. I must say defintely a few surprises thrown in throughout the story as well. I gave the story only three stars because I did feel that juggling three different men is a little too much for me and didn't come together well.
Former child star Jax is trying to hang on to his fame and career any way he can. When he gets a job shooting a pilot he meets Oz, father of two. The men get down and dirty, both thinking it’s a one night stand. But they hook up again and again, and then realize there is more going on between them than casual sex. But Jax is only peeking out of the closet door. So between that and Oz’s kids and his ex, can they make a relationship work?
I love this author and her stories. Her story telling is always first rate, the story flows along smoothly. Her characters have depth and dimension. The first half of the book, the sex is hot and there is lots of it. And yet there is more to the guys than just the sex. At times they are sweet, caring and funny as well. For me, this isn't the authors best work, and I can’t quite put my finger on why, but it’s still pretty darn good. If you’re a fan of hers, then you will want to read this. And I will be looking forward to the next story in this series.
Nothing blows a perfectly good summer like an ex messing up your plans. When freelance editor Celeste Myers must find last-minute child care for her two young boys, she fears the nanny choices left may be the bottom of the barrel. Fortunately for her, the last nanny standing turns out to be a hot young hunk of male named Dakota Nelson.
This book was like a beautiful summer breeze, sweeping you up in its refreshing warmth as you sip a cold one and say "aahh." It's no surprise to any reader that Dakota and Celeste will end up in bed together, despite their significant age gap, but like ordering a favorite sweet cocktail, you know you're still going to savor every last drop.
I'm a fan of the younger man-older woman scenario, so its heartwarming to see a happy ending and Celeste and Dakota's relationship blossom with such tenderness throughout the story. Her Dakota Summer is a book that deserves to be enjoyed from the bliss of a deck chair, with sunblock and icy drinks at the ready!
Halinah is the granddaughter of the famous man that discovered a civilization on the moon. (Very cool!) But she hates how her people have exploited and subjugated the natives. To avoid marriage she takes a job on the moon. Her and the native Yajiv hit it off right away. They start a sweet relationship that’s soon invaded by her jilted fiancé who still insists their getting married and a struggle for equality on the moon.
I really liked this book. Halinah was adorable and sweet. I really liked how she wasn’t snobby like the rest of her family. Yajiv was kind and quiet. He felt awkward and less of a man with most of her kind but together they found the balance between their species. The world the author created was unique. That story in the beginning about her grandfather was beautiful! I wish there had been more exploration and details. Which lead to my only real complaint, the story was rushed. I think a longer story would have really bumped this up to 5 stars. As is, the book is a solid, fantastic 4 stars. A few editing issues but nothing major (me instead of be, ate instead of at, ect).
The World Above is a fantastic introduction to a new author I’ll be keeping an eye out for. I highly recommend you give The World Above a read!
Alex played a roll for the motorcycle club in the Skulls that many didn’t understand. He didn’t dress like a brother or wear the cut, but he did a lot of the dirty work behind the scenes. When he and a female he had “bought” are harmed by a long forgotten enemy. It is up to Alex to find the man responsible. In the meantime will Alex find love with Sunshine or will his whole world including the club, fall apart?
I really loved this book. I’m not typically a huge follower of motorcycle club series’ however this story was wonderfully written. I really enjoyed the way that Sunshine, while a virgin initially, became very confident in her role in Alex’s life and a force to be reckoned with. I also loved that she had a definitive part in the happily ever after. The sex in this book was HOT and Alex made no mistake in claiming Sunshine in every way possible. She in return claimed his emotions and his heart. An unusual but refreshing spin to this story was the realistic relationships of the supporting characters. Some are dealing with infidelities, infertility, insecurities, and all the other real life things that can make relationships a challenge. The love of family was a strong theme and this really made a difference. The violence was not over the top and the biker language was not overly-done either.
I highly recommend this author!

Jazz has a skin condition, which causes patches of discolored flesh. He’s working hard to get his education and survive in a world that bully’s those who are different. Then a giant wolf/dog starts talking to him. The animal is actually a hellhound that’s come to eat Jazz’s rotting soul.
This book was fabulous! Kudos to the author for tackling the skin disorder. Jazz was a fantastic character. He fought racism, bully’s and hater to pursue his dream. Pyxis was a badass shapeshifter/hellhound. Even though we never read his pov the author did a perfect job writing Pyxis. Both characters were fabulous! The plot was wonderful, entertaining and sexy. I can honestly say this is a must read!
I was excited about this series. I read the first two books, Saving Sam and Inspiration For Hire. I did not like either one. In fact, I’m not sure how they all tie in other than having a ‘holy’ power in it. But this book is one I would recommend. Since they are all stand alone I urge you to pick up Writing Your Own Ransom Note. It’s a short read packed with fabulous characters and a great plot!

This is the tale of Dr. Quentin and the nanny Nia his office manager hires in the wake of the death of his wife some time earlier. They meet, feel lust, and end up together.
I go into a Romance on the Go book expecting a very short, but complete, story. That is not what I got in this book. The above pretty much summarizes the entire plot, such as it was. The problem (for me) with this book is that we’re told they spend time together, getting to know each other, but we don’t see any of it. We see Quentin admiring how Nia is with his children, but we don’t see her with the children much.
I liked Nia because she really wanted to change her life – she was a model, but wants to move on to something else. I’m not exactly sure what her qualifications to work with children are, buuut I definitely bought into it. Quentin was dealing with the loss of his wife and the way she died (a tumor that took her quickly) would be devastating to anyone, but most definitely to an actual surgeon who’s trained to try to save people with tumors. Agnes – the office manager who hires Nia. I wish there’d been more of her, but I respect the limitations of space.
So – this is a quick read, but my main issue was we didn’t get to see the development of the romance. Still, the characters were likable and believable, which is always a plus. I’ll probably give Honey as an author another read …. Provided it isn’t in the ROTG line, that is. I think she’s got the talent to write good stories – she just needs the space to flesh the it out.
Sally takes the place of her sister on a photo shot when she has a bad allergic reaction. Now, Sally gets to meet the panty wetting Master J and be tied up in the sexy art of Shibari.
Sally, lovely, curvy, sensual Sally. I really loved how Master J brought out her confidence and her submission. The way they reacted to each other was so beautiful. The plot is more about the growth of these two characters and it really flourishes. The shibari was beautifully written. I could really see all the intricate detail. The editing was a bit rough, that was the only reason for a four star review.
If you like hot BDSM with sexy characters, Through The Dom’s Lens is a must read!
