Step brothers are having a hard time dealing with their romantic feelings toward each other. Will this taboo situation really have a happy ending?
The book starts right in the middle of their first kiss. I don’t like that start at all. I have no idea who these characters are, what makes them the way they are and what their personalities are. The kiss just felt out of left field. Why start there when we don’t care about the characters yet? After this awkward start, we do learn more about Colton and Asher. They have had feelings for each other for a while but neither of them was willing to act on it. Until now. The resulting cat and mouse game is really entertaining. They are both attracted but Colton is unsure while Asher knows exactly what he wants. There’s a side drama of bi-polar that I found interesting and Colton’s dad who’s a jerk. The ending is extremely satisfying and really sweet. I really enjoyed Step in Love and I look forward to reading more from this author!
David is in love with his ex-step daughter. It’s intense and obsessive, boarding stalker behavior. Gillian isn’t close with her mother but considers David a friend. He saved her seven years ago when she was almost raped. She’s still fighting the nightmares but her life is coming together.
Intense, describes this book perfectly. David is intense. The sex is intense. I should have read this book while sitting under a cold shower. Damn! The romance is definitely well done in this book. David is a bit creepy at first, I mean, he’s following her around, but being in his point of view really cleared that up for me. He’s angry and overprotective and he’s not sure how to deal with those feelings so he goes over the line to keep her safe. Gillian is a sweet woman who’s lonely and utterly confused about men in general. She had that bad experience in the past and isn’t sure about her feelings for her ex stepfather. I love them together. The plot is just as intense as the characters. And I absolute love her realistic reaction when David admits he’s been following her. It’s honest, natural and feels very real. And that ending! I cannot stop reading. It is a wild fall from an immense height. It’s action and intensity. I cheered Gillian on and then grinned like a madwoman when David shows up.
My only issue and the reason for not giving this 5 sexy stars is that the edits are a bit rough. On a few occasions mistakes pulled me out of the story: they instead of the, onto instead of on top, cutting the engine in one paragraph then again in the next without turning the car back on, no instead of now, ect. That kind of stuff.
Only His is an intense book that should definitely be read by anyone looking for a sexy story and I highly recommend it!
Grant is pure alpha, sexy, dominant, nasty talking and hell, I’m blushing just thinking about him. McKay is sweet and likes safe men. She feels out of control near him but the real problem is that Grant is her boyfriend’s father...
Wow! My God. I need ice water, a cold shower and at least three hours alone. This book is hot. I’m talking flaming. This author gave us scorching touching, sizzling kisses and burn me, baby! *Insert a couple gulps of ice water* That’s on top of a fantastic, if taboo, plot that was so well written. I wasn’t sure if taboo was my thing but sweet lord, the author made sure I’d love it. This book is so freaking hot! I love how real the ending felt. It wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies. It was gritty and messy and honest.
A must read!
My, oh my, what an interesting take on the Three Little Bears! We meet our bears Jason, Jacob and Cat. They are brothers and sister bear shifters. How’s that for a creative take on the traditional story? It gets even better. They are all Doms and anyone they love and mate with, they do so together. While you chew on that for a moment, meet Goldie Lockwood. 100% human, Goldie’s klutzy moment enables her to fall hard for the new CEO at work, none other than Jason. He is immediately drawn to her and would absolutely love nothing better than to have his way with her right then and there…but…In consideration of the big picture he starts slow to see how she responds to being his sub. She responds beautifully so he gives her some of the information she needs to make a decision regarding giving herself to all three siblings. Of course, he left out a few little details. Things like the fact that he has already claimed her and oh yes, that they are all bears. When she actually finds all of this out, how do you think she will react? Will she run for the hills or stay?
Ms. Doris certainly knows how to write a spicy, exciting story, that’s for sure! And what a creative take on a long told fairy tale. If she has written more like this, then I have a new author to love. As for love, I am so in love with her depiction of Jason. Of the characters, I felt he was the most fleshed out. I couldn’t go for Goldie. She was a little too simpering for my taste although while I’m not big of FF, Doris managed to make it so hot between Goldie and Cat that I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Jacob could have used a bit more page time and more development in my opinion. The story overall though was terrific. I loved how we were led along with Goldie, almost like bread crumbs, a little bit here, a little bit there, until we were at the big table and ready for the whole meal. And what a meal it was! The BDSM and sex scenes were masterfully done and I thoroughly enjoyed them.
If you want a tantalizing, naughty, hot read, you have found it.
Freya’s father passes away, leaving her to live with her stepmonster Meghan, who quickly remarries. The book begins with Freya at 15 living with Meghan and her new spouse, Elijah. Time passes and Freya graduates and is getting ready to be off to College. Freya returns home, having graduated from nursing school. She thinks of Elijah often yet hasn’t had any contact with him since she left. The closer she gets to home, the more she thinks of him and the more intimate her thoughts become, much to her surprise. Elijah has been busy over the past four years becoming extremely successful in business. He is still single after divorcing Meghan but finds himself thinking of Freya more frequently and intimately. They run into one another in the store and the romance is on!
I really, really liked this book. There was a fantastic villain who was supremely hate-able. The hero and heroine are a pair that I totally wanted to have their very happy ending. The author wrote in tons of emotions to go with the actions on each page so I really felt right along with them, especially Freya. I mean, at the ages and stages she is going through this, I am sure she would be full to the brink with emotions. I know some consider this subject matter to be taboo but I don’t. I loved how they laid that to rest in their dealing with Meghan.
Touch Me by Jenika Snow is a must read!
Tempting her best friend’s father by Jenika Snow
Genre: Taboo, erotica
TBR Reviewer: Brutally Honest
Rating: 5 stars – A Must Read
Heat: 5 handcuffs - Orgasmic
Here’s the deal. This if my first time reading a ‘taboo’ story. I wasn’t too sure if it would gross me out or not. Let me tell you Jenika Snow if a freaking master! The story gripped me right away, I was absolutely blushing and wiggling in my chair as it progressed. And the sex, holy hell, I thought I would burst into flames!
As you can tell from the title, Mona is in love with her best friend's father. Her parents are drunks and after a hard slap she runs to the only place she feels safe, Kara and her father Isacc. After months spent together the sexual tension keeps mounting until BAM. It breaks and damn was is so freaking hot. There are twists and turns that really kept me on the edge of my seat. This story was so good I could not put my Nook down. It’s now two AM and I have work in a few hours! But I did finish My Best Friend’s Father and oh what a ride it was.
Not only does Jenika snow have a new fan I’m going to go buy more books so I can drown in her stories.
