I wasn’t too sure what to expect when I got a copy of I Need a Hero. This is a six-story anthology about superheroes and it’s not at all like I thought it’d be. It’s better! Superheroes have died out and long forgotten but in this anthology, they rise once more.
Behind The Mask by Elizabeth Coldwell
Riptide by Helena Maeve
Saving the Day by Jambrea Jo Jones
Flying with the Stars by Sarah Masters
Unseen by Lucy Felthouse
The Angel on the Northern Line by Catherine Curzon
Each story has a seriously unique take on the superhero theme and most of them grabbed me, refusing to let go until I finished the very last page. Sure, some were better than others but the one that stood out to me was Behind The Mask by Elizabeth Coldwell. What a story! Overall, this is a fantastic anthology that I would highly recommend to m/m romance readers who likes action with their sexy bits.
This is a m/m, military anthology. I know I was excited when I read that too, and these short stories pack a romantic punch.
One Night with You’ by Megan Slayer.
‘Spoil of War’ by Helena Maeve
‘Would You Wait for Me?’ by Anna Lee
‘An Interesting Find’ by Lucy Felthouse
‘Gods of Vengeance’ by Thom Collins
I am pleasantly surprised by these stories. They all have a different but fantastic feel to them. They could have easily been novellas and I got them all here in one book! That makes this woman very happy. I really liked the romance, all the characters are well written. My favorite story has to be Gods of Vengeance by Thom Collins. This story is insanely good! The plot, the characters, even the romance is spot on (and sexy). I’m going to have to find more books from that author. I’d buy the book just for Gods of Vengeance but each story is a great addition.
Brothers in Arms in a fantastic anthology that I highly recommend!
Don't blink! New grad Fiona Gillespie gets an eye-opening window to the world of kink after landing a job at a swank hotel chain in the heart of Mayfair, London. A big step up from her grimy flat and dead-end barmaid job, the Totally Five Star London attracts celebs and ultra-rich clients, including savvy
and sexy Cambridge businessmen James and Logan. The attraction is irresistible, and Fiona soon finds herself the third party in an unholy trinity with the already-committed gay pair. Fiona gets more than an eyeful of London's thriving BDSM and fetish scene, and with the help of James and Logan decides that the view is fantastic!
Although this is a series piece, I like that you can read each installment as a standalone work. The idea of spreading the stories over a number of locales where the hotel chain exists is a clever one. Her knowledge of London and the local style of speech really comes through here. The story is plausible and follows a logical progression from Fiona's destitute-student status into her first 'real' job...yes, some people really do luck out on getting their dream job! Fiona herself is a logical person; I could relate to her rationalizing how she was going to go about investigating the seedier side of London and the research she did to prepare herself....hilarious!
I was a bit put off by our twin heroes in that they were a tad bossy and arrogant in assuming Fiona would be interested in joining their menage. Although polite to a fault, there was something a little 'pushy' and overbearing about them. We never really find out what their business is that's made them so rich at such a young age. I will say that the sex action described here is very vivid and educational!
All in all it seems these three have it made in the shade...everything they could want in the world and in their personal relationships. However, I found Fiona's choice at the end of the book a little disappointing for such an intelligent, inquisitive girl who worked very hard to get where she is. Lastly, this story could easily have lost 30 pages of 'word fat' and brought the reader along much more quickly. We didn't need to know every thought, action and rationalization of our heroine down to each "please" and "thank you" she uttered. As my own mentor always said, "Write tight!" It will go a long way toward holding a reader's attention and keeping their "Eyes Wide Open."
A Human, a Vampire and a Werewolf walk into a bar… Yep, that’s how the story starts, the stuff of fantasies. And this one gets hotter from there because this fantasy is all about the sexual bucket list of Aneesa. Aneesa met Ace, her vampire lover at a Halloween costume party several years ago. They’ve been together ever since, slowly working their way through Aneesa’s kinky bucket list of sex acts, everything from spanking to pegging. At the top of her list is a ménage, her vampire sharing her with another man. Or in this case Barton, a werewolf, friend of Ace.
This story while short was a complete story. Do I think the author could have expanded the story? Yes and I would have loved to have had a longer story. There were a couple of places in the story I felt needed more details to give the reader a better understanding of what happened. There was one a situation being dealt with in a chapter that ended abruptly and it left me wondering how the issue was resolved. Even with that this was still an enjoyable story. Aneesa was a fun, flirty, adventurous character who also tried to use her brain and be smart and responsible about having her fantasy fulfilled. Ace and Barton weren’t as complete, but they were still fun characters. This story is a fast read, but it was fun, smoking hot, full sex.

Uniform Fetish is an anthology with manlove stories that all have one thing in common, the love of a good man in (and out) of uniform. The stories range from setting but all were focused on the love interests hot steamy encounters and relationships with men in various uniforms. From flight attendants to military veterans, police officers to firemen, pilots to restaurant waiter, this is a must-read for the uniform obsessed.
I typically do not read anthologies however I have to say that I loved this one. Every story not only depicted true and believable, hot steamy (soooo steamy) romance between the men in the story, but also emotional plot and happily-ever-afters that were absolutely touching. Elizabeth Monvey’s Rain and Promises story of love and near tragedy brought me to tears but had me smiling (and hot) throughout. Nicola Cameron’s Fine Dining was a sweet but sizzling story about love found in the most unlikely of places. All of the other stories were on the same level of awesome. Every story had absolutely mind-blowing scenes of eroticism between the male love interests. I would recommend this read to any M/M reader or someone who is looking to start reading manlove erotica. I give it five stars for the fact that consistently this anthology is amazing and there were no areas that I would improve. Be sure to read each story!!
