Each couple have their own problems to get through. Lisa and Amy are good together they both share history of being recovering drug addicts and are compatible. I really enjoyed reading about their happy ending together.
Maureen had a hard life and finally takes a chance with Alec who has also had a trouble past. Maureen has struggled financially for years now and her daughter is a recovering drug addict. Alec's struggles financially as well. His wife is terminally ill and unaware of anything anymore. These two brought so much joy to one another.
Ginny and Duncan are my absolute favorite. Duncan was engaged to Ginny’s daughter and she was also married at the time, but five years later they both decide to take a chance. Now they must overcome the age difference and telling Ginny’s daughter. Colleen, Ginny's daughter, did not take the news well. In fact she has wanted to reconnect with Duncan herself.
I did find it hard to follow each of the stories due to the author switching between each couple so frequently. This happened through the whole story and I wished the author focused on one couple then move onto the next. It is still a romantic and hopeful read which is why I gave Splendor and Surrender four stars!
