Bernado has no idea why his wife doesn’t trust him. He has risked so much helping her time and time again. She can fight like a man, sometimes dresses like one and even has a male profession for the times. This is enough to drive him mad. When Aurelia's uncle plans something wicked, Bernado must embrace Aurelia's ways or risk their marriage.
I liked this story! Aurelia lives in a time where if you’re a woman, a beautiful woman at that, you are only good for a few things. The author takes the heroine and puts her in situations that most men can’t handle or do the job. She is a physician yet she must pretend to be male. I did enjoy the fact that instead of trying to change his wife’s ways, Bernardo embraces her and welcomes it to a point. This is an interesting story that is full of surprises throughout. Aurelia is a breath of fresh air and I can't wait to read more from this author!

Lady Fay traverses her parapet wall and waits with bow drawn taut. Only when she notices that the rowboat that arrives with Saxon men are tonsured does she relax a little. She need not shoot one of King Alexander’s suitors today. She does however lets go of her bow and the arrow lands in front of the man in the lead. Lady Fay is not fond of priest either. Nicholas Bruce jumps at the arrow landing at his feet. The deadly queen is just as lovely as his remembers. He feels like suddenly his disguise will not work. He is the bastard son of the Earl of Annadale. His job is to enthrall the Queen and bed her if he wants to survive. He has no choice.
I like this story a lot. It is a historical but I feel is a little more modernized, the plot is not boring or plain. Lady Fay is certainly an entertaining character. There is never a dull moment with her. Nicholas is deceiving her although you can tell he struggles with this, he has no choice. I love their story and what journey they lead. I gave this story 5 stars because I like how it has a different take on a historical romance.

Six long years have passed without a word from Merry's Knight. When Sir Thomas shows up he’s singing poetry one minute then denying their son the next. She is not the young woman he used to know. Merry is now a woman with a sharp tongue and knife, not afraid to use either or both on him. She vows to never marry him. Sir Thomas cannot understand her attitude towards him. He had no choice to leave her six years ago. Will this tear them apart for good or will they discover the love they have for one another again?
The moment I finished the prologue of the story I knew I was in for a good time.
From the start it seems these two are cursed. Their first joining to the many years apart and miscommunication has set Merry and Thomas in opposite directions. It seems that Merry, once timid and shy is now more vocal. She's not afraid to speak her mind. Although she has had to bare so much from a young age she is still a delightful person and I love her character. Sir Thomas has me on an emotional roller caster. One minute I love him, then love becomes hate, then laughter, just when I thought all is lost with him he redeems himself. These two are great together and their dialogue is so good. I did enjoy that the story doesn't only focus on their re-connection but of the plots and ploys that involve them. I really like Nicholas and I hope to read more about him in a future story.
This was an excellent historical romance that kept me on the edge throughout the story!

Lady Ann is blindfolded , bound, and led to the alter. Forced to endure so many hardships at a young age is now bound to marry again by the King’s bidding. She will fight for her and her people until the end. The Beast of Thornhill has returned from the Holy Wars to find himself to be married to a murderous witch. What he finds shocks him, but after everything he discovers, will he still stand by her in the end?
This story is delightful. When reading a historical I find they can be a bit boring but this is thirlling from beginning to end. Lady Ann is one feisty young lady. I love that she has a forward thinking perspective on the way things can be. I would love to have more historical romances told like this. Marcus although a tough man is also loving, caring and very generous. These two balanced each other out perfectly.
I highly recommend How To Train Your Knight by Stella Marie Alden!
