Mai is a Fae and she’s just been accused on murdering a human. With the help of her Gremlin boyfriend, can they figure out who the real killer is before the bodies begin to pile?
The story starts with Mai being hit on and then jumps to her talking to detectives, trying to convince them she’s innocent. That is a huge leap that is a bit jolting. Mai comes off with a major attitude in the beginning. I know she’s pissed she’s been accused of murder but I’m not a fan of the chip on her shoulder. That said, I really liked Ry, her boyfriend. He is sweet and sexy. The mystery is a great ride but the world building is spectacular. I can’t wait to read more in this series!
Emmy gets a ride from the sexy Officer Jackson and that first meeting blows him away. But is she involved with the local human trafficking case or is she a possible victim?
I love romantic suspense. If I had one genre to read for the rest of my life, it would be romantic suspense. Night Silences is the perfect example of why I love this genre so much! Emmy is stubborn so I instantly liked her. Jackson is a good guy trying to do the right thing. When he meets her the sparks fly. This story is not just great romance but also great suspense and that ending! I don't want to give too much away but I will say, Night Silences is an absolute must read!
The story starts in a courtroom, Randy, a key undercover cop, who helped bring a human trafficker to justice is there and one of the male prostitutes, Jesse, who turned state evidence. After the sentencing, they both try to carry on with their lives—Randy works in vice. Jesse goes back to the only job he knows, working Johns. The story slowly builds…Randy questions his own sexuality and with the advice of a gay neighbor, finally accepts he has feelings for his own sex and one in particular…Jesse. Jesse always fancied Randy, but a vice cop and a hooker is not on the cards. Because of the court case publicity, his family disowns him, forcing him to live hand-to-mouth and sleeping on friend’s couches. Can they find any kind of happy ending together?
I enjoyed how the author pulled me into this relationship. If you want hard sex, you have to wait. When you get to that part, it leaves nothing to the imagination. Yum! The story still drove me to read more. Jesse’s feelings for Randy force him to run. Randy is forced to confront his true self and hunts him down…as a good cop should…leading to a happy-for-now ending. For me, this is a recommended romance read. The characters are well developed complete with insecurities and believable depth. You're sucked in and end up rooting for both of them…an enjoyable story.
Welcome to a historical romance with sexy Vikings!
Who doesn’t love a fair-haired Viking with a heart of gold?! Nylander has never had a real home, being an orphan but meeting Callie changes his world. Callie has poured every fiber of her being into taking care of the estate but everything is turned upside down when she meets Nylander.
Pirates and swords and romance, oh my! There are secrets abound in Her Midnight Sin. I really like both Callie and Nylander’s personality. Their chemistry on the pages is palpable. The action is wonderfully exciting. My only complaint would be that some scenes are a bit slow moving. This historical setting and dialogue are a treat. I really enjoyed those details. If you’re a fan of historical romance, I think you’d treasure the story of Nylander and Callie!

The book starts with Elizabeth finishing up with a gyno visit. That’s where she meets a sexy new nurse and he drinks her blood! It’s definitely an unexpected meeting. I found it different and entertaining. Alex is overwhelmed with thirst for Elizabeth. He has to find her and convince her that he means her and her daughter no harm. But harm does come to them in the form of Alex’s past…
Yeah, that beginning is awkward. I wish she’d have just been giving blood or I don’t know something else. Did Elizabeth really see Alex drinking her blood? Alex is surprised by his attraction to Elizabeth. They do have some great chemistry. When his past catches up things finally get some action. The point of view jumps are really rough though. There’s no warning, just a jump in first person point of view. I had a hard time following that, it did diminish some of the joy of reading the story. There are a few twists in the book and some good sex scenes that is sure to heat your blood. If you love vampire romances (huge Trueblood fan here), I’d suggest giving Drawing Bloodlines a read.

Matteo helps Dakota with her shifter and she shows him what he twenty first centry is like. He’s been in cat form for a long time but their mating causes Matteo shifter problems. He must keep away from Dakota to keep them both save. When Dakota is kidnapped by a rogue military force he must save her, at any cost.
I really love the characters in this book. Matteo has a harsh, complicated history and meeting the complex Dakota only adds to the beautiful chaos. Their romance plays out among the action of the military attack. It gives a nice break to the romance and keeps the story going forward. The sex is super hot and definitely going to get the blood flowing. There are a few slow spots in the book that felt a bit bogged down but that’s really my only complaint. In terms of a shifter book, Matteo and Dakota really stand out. If you like shifters with a lot of heat then this book should be on your list to read!
They Were Soldiers...
Until a ruthless mercenary's dark experiments made them so much more. Elite fighters Nick Cormac and Chase Turner are sworn to hunt him and his operatives down, but never counted on a pretty, green-eyed blond named Emelia Drake getting in the way. Oh, Emelia; stuck in a dead-end job and jilted by yet another cheating boyfriend, she deserves a little excitement. But stumbling into a criminal operation and forced into hiding with two hot soldiers of fortune is at first more terrifying than exciting. Convinced that Chase and Nick are gay, Emelia has to keep her lustful instincts on lock-down; but as the trio spend more time together, they discover that love can be a three-way street.
This story initially intrigued me on the premise of a power-mad mercenary attempting to create super-soldiers, and was mildly disappointed that little was revealed in this regard. However, watching the gradual and sweet seduction of Emelia by two men whose love for each other turns out to be more than just sexual preference, totally made up for it. Soldier on, Ghost Unit 1; can't wait to meet the boys (and girls?) of Ghost Unit 2 !!
Reuben’s dream of playing for the New Zealand rugby team is almost coming to fruition. Then he meets proud Cameron who’s a nurse. With Reuben hiding his sexuality and eyes on the prize, does Cameron have a place in his life?
I know nothing about rugby. Literally, nothing. I’ve never seen it, I don’t know anybody who watches it, and yet I had little problem following the sport in this book. It is written interestingly and easy to follow. Some terms are a bit lost on me but it didn’t really impact the story. Reuben’s story is heartbreaking. From his abusive father to his love of his nephew. Cameron hasn’t had an easy road either. When the two men meet there’s such a feeling of hope and beautiful possibilities. However, nothing’s ever that easy. My only reason for not giving this book five stars is the jumping first person point of view. That threw me out of the story a few times and also made me lose track of characters. The ending is really satisfying and it makes me hope this is the start of a great new series!

The story is a simple boy meets girl plot, except the girl is a fairy—complete with wings--who despises humans. The story flips between Aisling and Daniel’s perspectives. Aisling and her sister, Lena, are in Massachusetts from Ireland to arrange the return of a beer shipment as it contained a love potion allowing you to discover your true love. The visit takes longer than expected due to customs issues, so they’re working the bar to help out Dirv, the leprechaun owner. Aisling fancied Daniel as soon as they met…but he’s a human! Dirv steps in to help kick-start the romance by getting both Daniel and Aisling to drink the love potion contaminated beer.
This is a fun quickie and a great pick-me-up. I enjoyed it, plus the sex scenes will get you going…it’s not quite a one-hand-read. Sparks fly. All good romances can’t be plain sailing, so first Aisling has cold feet…it’s only the potion, then Daniel…she despises humans, how could she love me? Don’t want to spoil the plot…but it is a happy-ever-after ending. The sex is arousing and erotic at the same time. The combination worked for me. As I said early, it’s a quick read.
Definitely a recommended read, and I’ll keep watch for more stories by Ayla Ruse.
Leona had a rough childhood that’s led to a rough adulthood. She now being taken care of by a crime family but when they need help, she does unthinkable things. Now missing, only one man will stop at nothing to find her, Tony. The man that nearly broke through her tough exterior but also in a rival crime family. He has to find her before he can even attempt to have a happy ever after.
This is a phenomenal story! It starts with Tony getting word that Leona is missing. I can really feel his panic and the urge to find her. It gave them a good connection before the reader actually got to meet Leona. Poor Leona, the stuff she’s been through in life has broken her down. This is an edge of your seat read and being that’s it short I devoured the story! Sexy, entertaining, heartbreaking, sweet, His Kind of Beautiful is a must read!
