The daughter of a dead mob boss, Vine is living a life under the radar. With the past firmly behind her, she’s attending school and living a normal life. The problem is, once you’re in the lifestyle , you can never get out, and things are catching up with her. Grieving, vulnerable and a bit lost, Vine goes through a ton of growth in this story. There are times when her choices frustrate me to no end and others when I’m proud of how far she’s come. In the end, I think she was a wonderfully accurate portrayal of a woman among criminals. I’d call our hero, Anton, an anti-hero. Tall, deadly, and cold, he could easily be a villain with the right circumstances. Yet, his dedication and love for Vine and his family was downright humbling. I loved the way his mind worked. Always one step in front of his enemies! The sex scenes set the page on fire, and Vine and Anton captured my heart!
I highly recommend this adventure laden romance.
