Jasmine owns a spa but business had been low and she’s running out of options. When she finds out she has healing powers and that there are paranormal beings out there looking for a rub down, things seem to be improving. Then the sexy alpha werewolf, Christian, comes in and changes things forever…
This is a must read. Let me start off right there. The world building this author manager to do in just 78 pages plus romance plus a plot! Are you kidding me? I could not put this book down. From Jasmine learning her way in this new paranormal world to all her clientele and the sexy alpha. And sexy doesn’t begin to cover him. Leather wearing, motorcycle driving, dethroned alpha kind of sexy. The sex scenes are good but I wish it’d been longer and more detailed to really heat up the pages. But the romance, oh, the romance is between Jasmine and Christian was truly beautiful. I have to find more books by this author!
Read. This. Book. Never Rub a Werewolf the wrong way is a highly recommended, light read.
This book was hilarious when it came to the titular “Larry” – a little miniature pinscher who absolutely hated men. He had a real attitude and was a good protector…for a dog that weighs less than many purses do, what with all women carry around in their purses (me included).
Riya is attending the funeral of a high school classmate when she meets Jaden, in a very not-ladylike-position because of a cream incident gone very wrong. He offers some medical advice, being an EMT among other things, and gives her his card so they can talk. Larry does…bad things to the card. Very bad things. Luckily Jaden tracks her down anyway.
The mystery involved was minor, though I enjoyed seeing and finding out just who was behind the deaths. I loved the secondary character of Jaden’s mother (who really was a hoot in her own way), and seeing Jaden and Riya get together finally when everything’s solved. These two made a cute couple, er, trio with Larry. Definitely check this out if you want to giggle over the antics of a dog!

Holly is a thief who’s made a career of swindling primarily bad (or at least really rich individuals who have gotten their money in less than legitimate ways) people but she’s ready to retire, having made a final theft to get herself set up for a couple of years. Unfortunately, that last theft’s victim was less than pleased and sends bounty hunter Peyton after her, along with a few other bounty hunters – he really wants his money back. She’s retreated to the town she’s dreamed of retiring in, but unfortunately in a near-intimate encounter with Peyton some time back, Holly mentioned the town and so he knows where to look for her.
The bulk of this book is Holly trying to dodge the bounty hunters after her, and avoid getting taken back to the villain who wants to see her dead (after she returns the money). There’s a lot of fun times between Holly and Peyton along the way as they deal with their mutual past. Holly discovers Peyton doesn’t necessarily want to be bringing her in, but he has much more to lose than she does if he doesn’t. I liked their ultimate solution in dealing with the man who wants Holly dead. There was a great secondary cast, including Holly’s father and stepmother who come in toward the end.
I definitely enjoyed this book and it felt like a much bigger (richer) story than it’s oh-so-brief format would imply. I giggled and sighed happily throughout. Absolutely recommend anyone reading this. There may not be ginormous explosions or the fate of the world at stake, but it’s fun.
