Emmy gets a ride from the sexy Officer Jackson and that first meeting blows him away. But is she involved with the local human trafficking case or is she a possible victim?
I love romantic suspense. If I had one genre to read for the rest of my life, it would be romantic suspense. Night Silences is the perfect example of why I love this genre so much! Emmy is stubborn so I instantly liked her. Jackson is a good guy trying to do the right thing. When he meets her the sparks fly. This story is not just great romance but also great suspense and that ending! I don't want to give too much away but I will say, Night Silences is an absolute must read!
Gino and Rosa are survivors. When a threat from Rosa’s own family comes to light, Gino has a choice to make. One that’s life or death, love or loss.
Dark, dirty and heart wrenching. That pretty much explains this book. The pain this author put these characters through is just cruel and it really makes me cheer for them. In terms of the action, there’s a ton. The growing love between Gino and Rosa is beautiful then some seriously hot romance. I love this dark romance vibe that’s been so popular lately. A Sense of Guilt is a must read for those readers who like their heart pulled out of there chest and then sewed back up by an amazing story. Intense action. Stunning romance. I can’t wait to read more in this series!
They Were Soldiers...
Until a ruthless mercenary's dark experiments made them so much more. Elite fighters Nick Cormac and Chase Turner are sworn to hunt him and his operatives down, but never counted on a pretty, green-eyed blond named Emelia Drake getting in the way. Oh, Emelia; stuck in a dead-end job and jilted by yet another cheating boyfriend, she deserves a little excitement. But stumbling into a criminal operation and forced into hiding with two hot soldiers of fortune is at first more terrifying than exciting. Convinced that Chase and Nick are gay, Emelia has to keep her lustful instincts on lock-down; but as the trio spend more time together, they discover that love can be a three-way street.
This story initially intrigued me on the premise of a power-mad mercenary attempting to create super-soldiers, and was mildly disappointed that little was revealed in this regard. However, watching the gradual and sweet seduction of Emelia by two men whose love for each other turns out to be more than just sexual preference, totally made up for it. Soldier on, Ghost Unit 1; can't wait to meet the boys (and girls?) of Ghost Unit 2 !!
Reuben’s dream of playing for the New Zealand rugby team is almost coming to fruition. Then he meets proud Cameron who’s a nurse. With Reuben hiding his sexuality and eyes on the prize, does Cameron have a place in his life?
I know nothing about rugby. Literally, nothing. I’ve never seen it, I don’t know anybody who watches it, and yet I had little problem following the sport in this book. It is written interestingly and easy to follow. Some terms are a bit lost on me but it didn’t really impact the story. Reuben’s story is heartbreaking. From his abusive father to his love of his nephew. Cameron hasn’t had an easy road either. When the two men meet there’s such a feeling of hope and beautiful possibilities. However, nothing’s ever that easy. My only reason for not giving this book five stars is the jumping first person point of view. That threw me out of the story a few times and also made me lose track of characters. The ending is really satisfying and it makes me hope this is the start of a great new series!

Leona had a rough childhood that’s led to a rough adulthood. She now being taken care of by a crime family but when they need help, she does unthinkable things. Now missing, only one man will stop at nothing to find her, Tony. The man that nearly broke through her tough exterior but also in a rival crime family. He has to find her before he can even attempt to have a happy ever after.
This is a phenomenal story! It starts with Tony getting word that Leona is missing. I can really feel his panic and the urge to find her. It gave them a good connection before the reader actually got to meet Leona. Poor Leona, the stuff she’s been through in life has broken her down. This is an edge of your seat read and being that’s it short I devoured the story! Sexy, entertaining, heartbreaking, sweet, His Kind of Beautiful is a must read!
Malea is not the marrying type. In fact, when a relationship gets serious, she usually moves on. Then she meets Garrett whose persistence may just keep her around. Can she learn to love or will she run like she has so many times before?
This book is very realistic with Malea. She deals with the same insecurities that many women go through when becoming a wife and mother. The book starts with Malea and Garretts wedding. I really didn’t feel the connection because I didn’t know the characters so I feel the emotion of that scene is a bit lost. If she’s still so insecure and lost, I don’t understand why she married him. I wish the author started the book when they met or somewhere so we could feel the pull between the main characters. The story jumps back 6 months (there is a bit of jumpiness in the scene changes) and we do get to see what made Malea fall in love with Garrett. It is sweet and lovely. This story is about learning to love herself and growing up. Overall, I enjoyed the book. I think this would be a great story for women who are feeling a little lost in the world.

If your looking for an erotic treat, stop right here at Shades of Sepia. Tasha and Marcus are friends but what happens when they become more?
I’ll tell you what happens, lots and lots and lots of sex. Hot sweaty sex all over the place. In between the heat there is a short story about Tasha being torn between two men. Marcus is devastated when he finds Tasha with another man. Heartbroken but still completely in love, he forgives her very quickly and the story has a happily ever after. It’s a little too quick, if the story was flesh out, I think it would have been such a great contemporary read. Overall, Shades of Sepia is an erotic ride that would be great for couples to read together.
You can take the boy out of the country...
...but a new country can definitely get into the boy, and make him explore new territory he never dreamed of.
Johnny Fabian isn't entirely happy with his life but isn't planning on any radical changes as he deals with the fallout of divorce and keeping his business alive in small town California. However, he's not averse to a change of pace when offered a free trip to a tropical destination from nice-guy Nelson O'Keefe, the local veterinarian but he never thought a change of pace would turn out to be a complete 180 in sexual orientation.
I'm not certain how many straight guys can actually turn gay overnight, but at least Johnny puts up a fight before getting pulled headlong into the vortex of gay abandon all around him at a secluded resort in St. Maarten. Johnny approaches his situation logically and with deep thought and self-examination before allowing himself to fall in love with another man, giving the book some believability and non-GLBT readers like me a comfortable entry point into the story. The only uncomfortable moment is when the author refers to a book by Jane Austin. Ahem, that's Jane Austen. (Please, if you're going to quote from great literature, get the spelling right).
Still, this is a joyful book, and the joy is not in reading about homosexual exploits but about the true nature of love and caring for another person. Tropical vacations are nice, but Johnny and Nelson prove that you don't necessarily have to leave the country to discover new horizons. Happy Trails!
Nevin meets Marco in the most unlikely of places, the basement of a serial killer…
And that starts the blurb! You're damn right I picked this book up and devoured the story. Nevin just lost his mother and he's moved upstate for a new job. The job as a stripper is a bust and the date afterward ... knocks him out. When Nevin wakes up he's in a cage in some dark basement. Marco has been here a while. He's angry, exhausted and hopeless thoughts are in his mind. But then Nevin arrives and together, they have to face the serial killer.
Holy crap! So many emotions! Shocked. Scared. Sad. Upset. Stunned. Aww. Excitement. Romantic. Omg! Oh, sexy. Okay. Okay. You need sentences. Gotcha. So, Nevin is adorable. Poor guy just lost his mother and then is kidnapped. That's not the worse part. There is a glossed over rape scene that broke my heart. It was very brief and there were no details. Marco is also in bad shape. He's been beaten and humiliated. My heart was breaking for them! I can't give away too many details but their romance was an amazing roller coaster. They're both damaged, some issues obvious, but others not. I'm actually really blown away by this series. This is the third book and they've all been fabulous. Beauty Has Balls is my favorite book so far. If you've read the previous books you will probably know who the killer is but the ending is so damn satisfying. I literally was on the edge of my seat and shouting, "Yes! Damn right!" I cannot wait to read more in The Cox Club.
Beauty Has Balls is a must read. Period. You have to read this romantic thriller!

Zara is a wannabe painter who is struggling to make it financially. On the eve of her big breakthrough, fate takes a hand and a fire destroys her paintings. Her pride won’t allow her to borrow money from her friends or estranged family. She’s a living lookalike for a cartoon Princess Ravenna and takes a gig, dressed as the princess, to paint the children’s faces. The birthday girl’s father, Brendan, is a sexy surprise she isn't expecting.
I love this romance. The story flows wonderfully and, and for me, resonated. The story switches perspective between Zara and Brendan. The sex scenes are hot, but don’t overwhelm the romance. Without the sex, it would make a first-rate made for TV movie,—in my opinion a compliment. Brendan becomes Zara’s muse, and her paintings rise to the occasion and become sensual. Every good romance requires a few bumps in the road to true love. The Reluctant Princess has them all…overbearing parents…an interfering/jealous ex,…a spirited young girl and more. The story has well developed believable characters and a happy-for-now ending.
The Reluctant Princess is a story you’ll want to read again and again.
