Harper is now in charge of the family lodge and she’s looking to get some investors to bring it back to its former glory. Ethan represents the big company trying to buy her land. They’re both stuck in the lodge because of a wicked blizzard. As they get closer Ethan has a secret that’s getting harder to keep but so does Harper…...
Where the hell has this author been and why haven’t I read her before? This book is fantastic! Harper is trying her hardest to get Ethan to fall in love with this lodge. Ethan’s open to her thoughts but also feeling attracted to her. Their romance is a beautiful sizzle that really leaps off the pages. Yes, Ethan lies to her but I one hundred percent understood why he does it and totally hoped she does too. Harper’s secret isn’t really a big one, just trust issues that she has to work out. I do wish there is a bit more heat between them. The snow mobile ride and making him breakfast are great opportunities for a heated touch but miss the mark. There isn’t any real suspense here but there’s a hint of it. I’m wondering if maybe her parents murder isn’t as straight forward as it seems. A bit more heat and this book would be perfection! I’ve been going back and forth for the rating. Four stars? No, it is so freaking good. Five stars? It needs more heat. I really wish we gave out half stars. After a mental debate I’m going with five stars. I couldn’t stop reading!
If your looking for a slow burning contemporary romance, you have to read Lies and Solace!
Zach and Abigale worked together as kid actors but both were happy to leave that world. They are best friends but Zach has fallen completely in love with Abigale, only she doesn’t seem to realize it. When her fiance goes on a rant about her getting back into acting they break up and who does she call, her best friend. He brings with her a journal called Wreck This Life and it’s going to change her forever.
This book is the epitome of romance. Oh my God! So romantic! Abigale is clueless about Zach’s feelings and she so wrapped up in her past that I believe her. When she starts seeing Zach as more than a friend the heat factor skyrockets. Finally, Zach is getting his chance but everything seems to be standing in their way, family, friends, robbers. There is never a dull moment with this book and lots of hot ones. The ending is perfect and I’ve already ordered the next book in this series. I love this book so much I’m raiding the author back list for more to read!
If you’re looking for a romantic read, stop right here! Wrecked by Shiloh Walker is a must read!
Cole is pushed into meeting an empath, Aiden. The problem is that Aiden needs a human anchor or he’ll go crazy. Cole isn’t sure he wants that much responsibility on his shoulders but he’s really hitting it off with Aiden. Then he gets kidnapped …
We’re dropped into a story of empaths and multiple worlds that I had a hard time following. There’s a lot of info dumping without really showing us the world building. I really like Cole. He’s a good guy trying to do the right thing and fighting the attraction to Aiden. I like how it takes him a few dates to make up his mind about Aiden. He’s really weighing the good, the bad and everything in between. However, Aiden is very stiff. I thought as an empath he’d be livelier but he comes across as almost robotic. I can totally see him as part cyborg or something. Overall their relationship didn’t click that well because of him. They are just so … what’s the word I’m looking for. It’s on the tip of my tongue. Awkward? Yeah, I guess that word would fit. There’s just no heat between them and when the sex does happen it comes across as forced. The fantasy scene with Aiden is so freaking awkward. Yes, I know I used that word already but it just fits the romance. I still enjoyed this story though. The action with the kidnapping and its resolve is great! The story itself about Empaths and how they need an anchor to not go crazy is really interesting. It’s a unique twist in the scifi genre.
This story has a lot of potential and I’ll certainly check out the next book.
Jenna loves her musical career but the problem is everything else in her life. Her marriage is falling apart and she becomes unhappy with the direction of her future. When her high school sweetheart returns it may just be the miracle she was hoping for but secrets still keep them apart.
I don’t even know where to start this review. It’s one of those books that so amazingly romantic that it’s hard to sum it up in one sentence. Jenna, oh Jenna. I want to scoop her up into a hug. Her husband’s a jerk and then Brand is back in her life. Total swoon. Talk about complicated. He’s also got a medical secret that’s really heartbreaking. Oh, Jenna’s got a freaking huge secret of her own. When Jenna final breaks it off with her husband she knows life is too short to pass on what she wants. And what she wants is Brand. Although I’m not musically inclined I had no problem following this genre story. In fact, I found it wonderfully interesting.

A free castle? You know there's got to be a catch. When Chloe Sullivan inherits her Uncle's estate in Scotland, she didn't think it would come with impossible conditions. Fergus Sullivan's will states she must marry a Scot within a month or see her ancestral home auctioned to the highest bidder. Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately for Chloe, Fergus has a ready-made groom in mind.
Malcolm MacTavish is everything Chloe could want in a man; handsome, kind, muscled and sporting a panty-melting Scottish accent, but she has no intention of marrying a complete stranger, and every intention of returning to her modern life in New York City as soon as possible. But with Uncle Fergus's command from beyond the grave weighing heavy on her mind, the choice isn't so easy.
What is easy is predicting where this story will go, and the only bad thing about that is how long it takes to get there. For a pair of 30-ish adults, Chloe and Malcolm behave like inexperienced teenagers. While Malcom's bad luck with a former fiancee makes him understandably gun-shy, these two pussyfoot around their very obvious attraction to each other for what feels like forever. However, with the help of a host of meddling townsfolk, they finally do manage to get it done; and when they do, hold on to your bagpipes!
The sex scenes are juicy and satisfying; like finally getting to the toy prize in your Cracker Jack. Worth the wait! Add in some breathtaking descriptions of the Scottish landscape, foods and traditions, this book will have you longing for a Highland fling of your very own. Highly recommended!
Summer Ride is the story of high school friends Toby and Jimmy who meet five years later after going their separate ways after high school. Each has become a man that neither knows and is struggling with moral dilemmas they are on the run from. Only a summer on the road can help them work things out and fall in love along the way. Summer Ride begins right at the point where Toby and Jimmy ex-best-friends are reunited after being apart five years. Toby at first doesn’t recognize Jimmy and it seems as if he doesn’t want to. Then, Jimmy offers Toby a ride and they learn that neither of them has a destination in mind. As they travel we learn each is gay and has been hiding it. Both have had troubled childhoods with fathers who weren’t as understanding. Being gay is the least of their troubles though. Toby was sexually harassed and is struggling with whether to let it go as he was urged or to report it. Jimmy is a law student interning for a firm that is cheating its clients and he’s taken a bribe. He’s torn between letting it go and reporting it.
This story has great potential,—a road trip, emotional drama and moral dilemmas, but it never quite fulfilled the promise. Susan Laine’s writing isn’t the weakness, it’s very good. The story just lacks sufficient exploration of the moral dilemmas which are at the heart of the road trip. I would like to have seen more action. As it is, Toby and Jimmy connect emotionally fairly quickly. The two men talk a great deal, bringing the reader into their lives allowing us to explore their emotional and moral issues with them. I did like how Toby and Jimmy confront their issues but the way in which they reach the decision to return to Boston to face those issues isn't based on any real epiphany. Toby merely decide after a few sexual encounters with Jimmy he needs to go back. I would like to have been let in on why he makes that decision. It is clear that Jimmy makes his decision based on what he fears Toby will think of him. Jimmy’s fears about dealing with his problems are a little more obvious and real than Toby’s.
I will recommend this story to anyone who enjoys emotional journeys, stories of the heart that involve moral dilemmas.

The Double J was Carter’s life. He enjoyed it. Lived and breathed the ranch day in and day out. Loved training the offspring of his mares into the finest trail horses in the Northwest. And yet, he’d been walking around with a hole in his chest since the previous August.
He’d not found her.
As much as he’d promised himself that he would track Jenna down, it was like she had disappeared off the planet. He’d even toyed with the idea of hiring a private investigator to locate her. But there was a part of Carter that wondered, now that almost a year had passed—eleven months and one week to be exact—since he had first set foot on the tiny strip of an island in the Bahamas, whether he was being obstinate and downright idiotic. If Jenna wanted to be found by anyone from the island, she would have left a way to be reached. Jared, the owner of the Pleasure Island Resort, had assured Carter that he’d not been in contact with her, and that perhaps it was best if Carter let her go.
And wasn’t that just the problem?
Jenna had rocked his world. The feisty submissive had wormed her way past his hard-fought defenses and had set up residence inside his soul. He dreamed about her. Woke up in the dead of night reaching for her. Carter used to joke about Doms who became whipped and would cave to their submissive’s every desire.
It was karma, perhaps. Because now the fucking joke was on him.
He’d been living a half-life, cursing himself that he’d failed to take action after their week together on the island. That he had waited too long to contact her afterwards. He’d tried to be a gentleman. And, he admitted to himself, he’d let his ego get in the way. Because he would forever regret that he hadn’t hauled her to the fucking plane with him and carted her back here to his ranch. He knew now that he should have gone all caveman, tied her up if he’d had to, and even gagged her if necessary to get her on the damn plane.
Because now she was lost to him, and Carter had no idea how to move past it. Past her.

The Devil’s Cum in His Eye. Really? I’m torn between laughing and scoffing but it did totally catch my attention. This is a story about Coburn who works three jobs to raise his kid alone. The mother left when she found out Coburn is bi-sexual. He is a cop during the day, stripper on the weekends and an erotic author at night. Then he wakes up one morning to find a dead body in his bed. Someone’s out to frame him but who? When the detective believes his innocence they start a forbidden relationship but can they explore anything with a killer on the loose?
Wow! Hands down one of my favorite books! This is reminiscent of a gay version of Gilmore Girls. The relationship between Coburn and his son Tom feels so real. I like the angst between them but also the love. Luke is the sexy detective that believes Coburn is innocent but he’s not sure if that hunch is from between his legs or in his chest. I like the conflict going on. They both felt the attraction but also reluctant to start anything. This book is definitely not boring! I like how it didn’t drone on and on but kept things quick paced and interesting. As the mystery unfolds I am totally stuck to my seat. I had to find out what happens! And…no I did not get the killer right but when Coburn figures it out, I did suspect. The race to save (you know who) is frantic and really well written. I can feel Coburn intense fear and panic. Then we come to the end where I absolutely cried when someone (not saying who) died. Oh my God, so freaking sad and yet that death just cements the growing relationships going on. Seriously, this is such an amazing book. And it looks like it’s going to be a series! Score!
If you like fast paced mystery and seriously hot sex, you have to read The Devil’s Cum in His Eye. Don’t let the title fool you, this is a romantic suspense gem.

Are you freaking kidding me?! Oh my God, this book is crazy good!
The world is destroyed, powerful teenagers are fated to fight each other to the death. One of them, Evie, is evil in all the previous games but this game she had an anchor for her goodness. That would be cajun bad boy Jack. Can a moral survive in a battle of Gods?
Un-freaking-believable! The first two books are amazing and I swear they are just getting better. The evil known as The Lovers have kidnapped Arcana Selena and they have to rescue her. Meanwhile Eve must choose between Death/Aric who was her husband in a past life and Cajun mortal Jack who keeps her good. I have been in love with Jack. I'm totally TEAM JACK from the beginning. He has lied to her in the past but it is all with good intentions. The ending is a huge cliffhanger that I have to solve. Give me the next book already! Who does Evie pick? You have to read the book to find out. And Jack better not be dead! *Sobs*
Dead of Winter is another phenomenal young adult adventure in this mind blowing series. You must read The Arcana Chronicles!
This is the second book in the Arcana Chronicles series by Kresley Cold. The first book is mind blowing and the second book is just as stunning! Evie and the Arcana's with their special powers are dealing with the end of the world. They manage to resist the urge to kill each other along with the Cajun bad boy Jack. Some Arcana are evil, others misunderstood and it's all happening after a bright flash scorched the earth. There are Bagmen (zombie like), scary cannibals (super freaking scary and dark) and Jack who is human. In the previous book he just found out about Evie's powers so there is a lot of tension there. I'm not giving up hope on them!
This is a total edge of your seat story. The story is complicated and twisted and so enthralling that a few times my mouth was hanging open while reading. I love, love, love all the characters but I think Evie is my favorite. She's trying to deal with the revelation of her powers, all these Arcana calling her evil and trying to kill her. Plus, the red witch inside her longs to get free and slaughter them all. Intense! I love Jack, even from the beginning, so when they finally acknowledge each other I was ecstatic. Then Death/Aric comes swooping in and turns everything upside down. Oh my God! So good!!
If you thought the first book was insanely good wait until you read Endless Knight. Of course, I highly recommend this series. *Rubs hands greedily for the next book*
