This had the potential to be a phenomenal book. Unfortunately I think the author didn't choose to give the story the length it truly deserved to let it shine to its full potential. There were so many great ideas (the idea of earth/Feury having been split to give the dragons & humans their own worlds, the virus that killed all the females, the mating connection between dragons and humans, etc.) and only 52 (48 really) pages to explore. When you add in the many sex scenes, there just wasn't room enough for a real plot to come through.
What I liked? Eilagh and the magic that brought her to Feury. She didn't let being transported to another world completely knock her for a loop. Of course, she wasn't given much of a chance to react before she was mated and having lots of sex with her two dragons. Dimitri and Max (the dragons) had every reason to be very attached to Eilagh, since she was their “Destined” (fated mate), and the fact that she was one of the only females they had seen since the virus.
The problem for me, because of the length issue, there was no real chance for Eilagh to truly, believably, fall for Dimitri and Max. Nope, just poof, she’s there, no chance to react, and suddenly she’s all hot and horny for the dragons. There’s a small kidnap plot and potential rebellion among the dragons (understandably, given the shortage of females, but still), but it just didn't feel right given the length. I’m not knocking the book for being short – short books can be great. It’s just the fact that the story FELT like it should have been much longer and I would happily have read it.
So – if you want dragons, humans, and hot sex…go for it!
