This book is about Anita returning home. She’s still human servant to Jean Claude and in love with Richard. She’s also coming into power of her own which confuses her and everyone else. Snake shifters attack her leopards and more go missing. Anita is wounded by her own shifter on accident and she may very way be turning furry on the next full moon. This is where we meet Micah who I continue to drool over. He is gorgeous and irresistible and oh so great in other area’s. Meanwhile Richard is too gentle to rule the wolves but they undermine him and torture one of Anita’s leopards. She’s in the middle of all this chaos and then get’s a side effect from being Jean Claude's human servant. The Ardeur, which is like lust on steroids.
There’s so much going on in this book I just could not put it down. It all melted together to create a fabulous read. I loved Micah, even with that twist at the end. There were some old characters that I love to read about and some new that were nice additions. The plot really complimented the characters and vice versa. The romance was fabulous! Seriously. Wow. I can’t say enough good about this book.
Narcissus in Chains is my favorite Anita Blake book so far! Onward to Cerulean Sins!
