Rating: 5 Stars - A Must Read!
Scarlet is a farm girl, raised by her strong, outspoken grandmother in a wonderfully, rich with details, futuristic world. When her grandmother is kidnapped she is forced to accept help from a street fighter. But Wolf has secrets of his own. The story line plays out where Cinder (book 1) left off. Cinder is breaking out of jail with an unlikely ally and trying to stay away from the Lunar Queen.
I was so excited to read more about Cinder, since I loved, LOVED, the first book. I quickly found out this had a new characters, Scarlet. As much as I liked Scarlet and Wolf's story, I wanted more on Cinder. She's the hidden princess, the cyborg girl and the reason I fell in love with the series. This book plays out with two story lines: Cinder's tale and Scarlet's tale, they meet about 75% through the novel. Before they meet the two stories felt jumpy. It's almost as if the author didn't have a long enough or strong enough plot for Cinder so she thew in new characters. I was disappointed and lowered this down to 4 stars. Then the 'wolf attacks' started and I was absolutely engrossed in this book. I'm talking no sleep, no food, nothing but reading for hours and hours. Yeah, it was that good! The ending was so epic that I bumped up the rating to 5 stars.
Now, excuse me while I have myself a girly squeal and buy the next book, Cress. READ. THIS. SERIES!
