Ruby is ten when her parents locked her in the garage because she wiped their minds. It’s all part of a terrifying new infection that’s causing kids to develop powers and the government to take control. Now, years later, Ruby is sixteen. She’s managed to hide that she’s one of the dangerous one’s until she’s busted out of the prison camp and into the new world. When she meets a ragtag group of other survivors they must trust each other to survive.
Love. Love. Love. So much love I might just scream. This book is fabulous. From Ruby with her secrets and rich personality to Liam, handsome and trying to be strong. Then there’s Chubs who is cranky and suspicious of everyone. Even little Zu who has some cool powers. They all blended well into this amazing world the author created. This is what the young adult genre is all about. I started reading this book and I couldn’t stop. I already bought the 2nd and 3rd in the series, I’m a quarter of the way through already. That ending is perfect. Loved every inch of this story. I also hear they may make it into a movie. So. Freaking. Excited!
The Darkest Minds is a twisted, wonderfully evolved world that you will sink into and never want to leave.
